Never in a million years did he even imagine that there would come a time when he would have to deal with something completely different and unrelated.
He never thought he would finally have to deal with himself first, more specifically the matter of his own heart, which had already begun to rebel against himself.
What's he supposed to do?
Evie does not realize that she has maintained that position long enough until a knock draws her attention back to the present.
Fray and Gina appeared from the door with wide smiles as they greeted her.
"Good night, madam. We've come to help you change your clothes" said Fray and Evie, trying their best to maintain their usual smiles.
The servants were then all around him while Evie quietly let them do their job.
His mind was still wandering, but his eyebrows occasionally fused together, as if certain thoughts kept popping up in his head to interrupt the flow of his thoughts.
"Mrs, do you want to go somewhere after a break?" Gina asked politely and Evie almost frowned because she knew it was past midnight.
Thankfully, she managed to stop herself in time when she quickly realized that she was in a different world now. The opposite of his home world – a world where people move in bright daylight and enjoy their rest when it is dark.
Is he going to live like a vampire now? Will he stay awake at night and sleep during the day?
As Evie looked into the pitch blackness outside her window, her mind flew back to the bright and bright Southern Empire, her home.
He was in a distant place, far away from that familiar and comfortable scene now and the awareness that struck his heart made him feel an overwhelming longing within him.
"If you please, Madam, we are happy to take you to the park." Gina's voice sounded careful and gentle. Evie knows that the waiters must have felt her emotional roller coaster because she was too late in her memory that she forgot to hide it.
Clearing her throat, Evie focused her attention and calmed down. He knew he could not sleep even if he forced himself because he had slept for so long.
But he also could not force himself to agree with them. Why is he out at night? He's not a vampire.
Suddenly, the words from his adviser at home echoed in his head and as if something was enlightening him, Evie shook her head at his servant.
“It's okay, I'm fine. I'm not used to moving in the dark so I doubt I can enjoy the view of the park when it's dark. I'll try to sleep tonight so I can visit the park in the morning. ."
One of his advisers told him he had to continue living as he normally does. If he sleeps while a vampire is active, he can avoid it.
Evie thought this was the best way to avoid her husband. And since he wanted them to sleep on the same bed, this would break his dilemma of how he could avoid it.
Evie took a deep breath into her lungs, strengthening herself while Fray and Gina glanced at each other with worried gazes in their eyes.
"We understand, madam. We'll also be sleeping soon, so we'll be up in the morning."
"Yes." Yeah." Evie nodded as they changed back into a nightgown.
"How's the party, madam? I hope you enjoy it." asked Gina plain and Evie again remembered all the emotional roller coasters that overshadowed the lavish event.
"The palace was really very majestic, and the emperor looked kind-hearted. The crown prince also turned out to be quite friendly." Evie commented and she was surprised to see the momentary shock on Fray and Gina's faces.
"We're happy to know that they treated you well, Madam."
Evie was suspicious of their reaction. For some reason, Evie thinks that her servant reacted in the same way as the reaction of the vampires inside the great hall when she and Gavriel arrived at the palace.
Now that he thought about it, the question he thought of when he danced with the crown prince came to his mind.
"I noticed .." he began to hesitate.
"Gav.my husband seems to have a bad relationship with the emperor and his brother and sister. It was probably just my imagination." he let his statement disappear.
Carefully watching the expressions of his servants, Evie saw them glancing at each other. His curiosity then mastered it and he sat up straight and faced them, giving them the sharpest and probing gaze he could call.
"Uhm..." Fray nudged Gina as they realized Evie was pinning them down with a question mark filled look. After a long awkward silence, Fray was the one who relented and spoke up.
"Your observation is not misplaced, Madam. Everyone knows that His Majesty Gavriel is not on good terms with his royal family."
"Why? Is it because Gavriel has a different mother?" ask Evi. He recalled his observations of how Gavriel's appearance and color were very different from the rest of the royal family. No matter how one changed the angle or view, Gavriel did not resemble the emperor or his brothers at all.
There's another round of silence. Evie could see that the servants were having a bloody battle against themselves whether they should talk or not.
When Evie realized their struggle, she waved her hand, gesturing for them to stop but she did not hide her disappointment.
"It's okay, I get it. I'm going to bed now." He said with a sullen voice and guilt flashed in the eyes of the servants.
As Evie sits on the edge of the bed, Gina suddenly approaches Evie and she kneels while staring at Evie.
"We'll tell you what we know, but this has to be kept secret between us, okay? Mrs?" The servant whispered while glancing at the door.
Fray was already standing by the door as if guarding her. Evi gnashing. He realized that the information they were about to tell him must be something secret. He knows the risks.
These two servants might be severely punished if caught leaking his secret, but his curiosity was so intense that he could not refuse to hear it.
"Of course, Gina. It's just between the three of us." Evie replied sincerely and Gina nodded. His gaze became very serious as he continued to whisper to Evie.
"It is said that all the royal families of vampires in the past since the beginning of time have a characteristic that has black hair of crows and their eyes are colored like a cold gray moon." Gina and Evie immediately pouted. The emperor, crown prince, and princess all had sapphire blue eyes and blond hair. Now that Evie thought about it, she had never seen a vampire with jet-black hair and gray eyes like the moon except for Gavriel.
Even among the crowd of vampires residing in the imperial palace, she had never seen anyone with black hair except her husband.
With a shocked expression, Evie looked at Gina in confusion. The waiter continued after seeing his reaction.
"There were rumors that the current emperor was not an actual vampire noble and that included the crown prince and the princess as well. Rumor has it, too, that the original royal lineage and the only one still alive today is our own prince Gavriel, mistress. . Your husband."
