Marrying the Vampire Prince

Marrying the Vampire Prince
chapter 3's

Evie bit her lip but before she could say anything, she continued.

"I'm your husband now, Evielyn." His voice became a little firm. But then, he opened his eyes and approached towards her.

She looked into his eyes so deeply that Evie could not take her eyes off even if she wanted to. Wh why? Why does she have to look so beautiful?.

"Let me remind you again that as your husband, I personally swore to protect you. So stop jerking every time I talk to you .." she fell silent and she raised her hand as if to pinch her chin but stopped halfway.

"I don't like my wife constantly jerking as if I'm going to attack her every time I talk."

Ever since Evie was a child, she was taught that vampires were monsters that viewed humans as mere food or slaves. He grew up believing that they were the famous enemies of mankind.

Vampires and humans have been mortal enemies ever since Evie could remember. He heard that Vampires saw themselves as superior beings and wanted to rule over humans, treating them like slaves and their food.

The world in which they live is divided. The northern part of the Land of Lirea was occupied by vampires while the southern, eastern, and western parts were occupied by humans.

There is an endless war between vampires and humans and despite the fact that humans dominate much of the Land, they cannot defeat vampires solely because vampires are powerful creatures.

For countless years, the battle never stopped and the vampires never lost the war. Nevertheless, these vampires never tried to exterminate any of the human kingdoms because to them, humans were cattle that had to exist forever for their pleasure. Evie even heard a story from a soldier that the vampires never took war seriously, treating them like mere child's play.

Evie hears that humans have been under the mercy of vampires for countless years until one day, humans learn to use dragons to fight for their sake.

Since then, humans are no longer inferior and vampires begin to lose several battles. The tide slowly turned around and even to this day, the war continued. Humans want to eradicate vampires with the help of dragons but vampires are still strong enough to defend against even dragons. They were powerful and complicated monsters like the so-called humans.

So when Evie first heard about her marrying a vampire, she cried. He was so angry and frightened that he planned to run away.

But on the night he plans to escape, his father thwarts his plan and stops him before he can even leave his room. Evie adores her father and respects him not only because he is the guardian of the dragon and hero of mankind today, but because he is his beloved father. Lord Lucius Ylvia, Evie's father was also the head of the Ylvia family, the most powerful human noble family in the entire Land of Lirea.

The so-called guards were the only ones who could tame and control the dragon and all the guards were from the Ylvia family. After the former guardian died, the guardian's son took over his position. It has been that way since the beginning of the Ylvia house and this is why the Evie family is considered to be the most protected treasure of mankind - for without guards, it is without guards, man's only hope of fighting vampires will be reduced to ashes.

Lucius explains to Evie that humanity is on the verge of collapse because Lucius is still unable to produce a son, heir, next guardian. If Lucius were to die in battle, there would be no one to replace his power - as only the direct son of the current guard could inherit the power to tame and control the dragon.

Evie asks her father why the vampire agreed to a truce and his father also explains to him that the vampire will definitely take the bait because the vampire is also in a dire situation. Unlike humans, vampire birth rates are very low.

The vampires have lost the more recent wars so they desperately want a truce for years because if the war continues with the dragons helping the humans, the, vampires will eventually become extinct because they have more deaths than births.

And then, Lucius hesitantly reveals to Evie that the vampire asked for something to strengthen the truce between the two races and the human emperor suggested marriage between humans and vampires.

The emperors advised the prettiest princesses in all three human kingdoms but the vampires wanted her, the single and beloved daughter of the current guardian, to marry their prince and then be taken to the North.

Of course, even if her father doesn't explain this, Evie knows why the vampires want her. She would be a stronger hostage compared to the other princesses. As long as he was in the hands of vampires, humans would not attack the Northern empire, especially since everyone knew how much Lucius adored his daughter.

Evie refuses to accept it but eventually, the emperors soon convince her that she has no choice. They tell him that if he disagrees and the vampires attack them, his father will probably die and he and his family and all other kingdoms will be destroyed.

He will end up as food or slave*** vampires too. And thus, Evie is forced to accept her fate and become a sacrificial lamb to save everyone.

That night, her father hugs her, apologizes to her, and promises her that once the heir is born, she will definitely come to her rescue. This is why Evie makes herself believe that she is just a hostage under the guise of the prince's wife. He never even thought of anything other than surviving in the land of vampires until his father came to his rescue.

The inside of the carriage was shrouded in silence. The prince was silent, closing his eyes as if he had closed himself.

The night was getting late and Evie could now feel the fatigue and dizziness from her emotions. From that day on though she wanted to reflect more on the situation, her mind started to drift like a cloud drifting aimlessly.

She can't sleep a few days before her wedding because of the thought of her marriage and the vampire she's about to marry so she feels a bit like a zombie. He felt dizzy and dizzy and he tried to find the right position for him to sleep in, but to his dismay, whenever he managed to fall asleep, the carriage bounced off the rough road and he woke up again. Sometimes, it was so bad that he almost banged his head against the wall.

It was her first time traveling at night, but Evie knew she had to endure this. Her marriage was a secret and only her nobles and family knew about it. Ordinary people didn't even know that vampires were secretly setting foot in their midst. That's why their marriage took place at midnight. Now they must cross the border before noon to avoid the concerns of residents who might see vampires with him.
