Marrying the Vampire Prince

Marrying the Vampire Prince
chapter 14's

The next second, they flew in the air again.

Evie fights her instincts to close her eyes and when she looks down while they are in the air, she is surprised by the thrill and excitement she feels.

He was not afraid anymore, and he really enjoyed it.

 Oh, my God, he's flying!

He was so busy enjoying the incredible experience that he almost asked Gavriel why he had stopped. Fortunately, she heard him speak before she could ask and embarrass herself.

"We're up." He said while taking Evie down.

Evie turned around and fell silent as she saw they were already standing in front of a large double door. This was clearly the door of the palace. When he looked back, a larger garden began to be seen.

Oh my God, how big is this park?

"Let me help you with your robe, wife." Gavriel, drawing his attention back to her and Evie can only stand still as Gavriel carefully pulls the hood of her robe.

While she took off the robe from him, she whispered in his ear.

"Are you ready?"

The exhilarating yet melodious Baroque style music can be heard from the big doors. There seemed to be a ball going on inside and the event had long since begun.

Did the vampire emperor throw a party to greet him? Evie quickly shook her head and scolded herself for the thought. There's no way they're doing that.

He is their enemy and Evie thinks that everyone in this kingdom knows that. Even if this party was held because of him, he could only think of one reason.

The emperor probably planned to make him feel like he was wanted and welcomed in his kingdom and then let him off guard.

"Fearful?" the majestic voice pulled her from her deep thoughts and as Evie raised her face, she stumbled in shock because she had bowed so close that Evie thought their faces would collide. He caught her waist with his strong arms.

As soon as Evie regained her balance, she took a step away from him.

"Please stop surprising me like that." He mumbled slowly.

Gavriel tilted his head, acting as if he had not heard it.

"My wife, we can come back if you're not ready" she said gently and Evie's eyes widened.

Wh-what?! Did he really tell her this now? Why didn't he tell her this before he brought her to this place?

Evie felt her tongue was a bit off. But he was more surprised at himself for not actually directly saying a big YES so they could finally come back.

He was very nervous and he knew he would never be ready for this, so why would he hesitate?

After hesitating for a few minutes without moving, Evie looked at the open door.

His hands clenched under his robe and reluctantly showed,

"But we're already here" he said without looking at her. He did not see how the corners of his lips were slightly curved in amusement.

"Right, the emperor must have been very impatient by now." He agreed and he moved in front of him. "

Let me help you take off your robe, wife."

However, he was curious as to why the prince was doing all these menial tasks for him.

He had obviously introduced and brought the butler along with them on this trip, so why didn't he let the butler do this job alone?

He valiantly fought himself at the temptation of wanting to peek at her and to his delight, he managed not to see until he finally removed his robe.

Despite her only imagination that she felt the process of removing her robe seemed too slow? That must be so, he thought. Thinking it to be something else only scared him so much that he dodged it from him.

After giving Evie's robe to Elias, Gavriel offers her hand to Evie.

His look could not be separated from his face. The fiery dress she wore created a beautiful contrast with her long silver hair. He thinks he's like an exotic red rose in the moonlight.

When they finally entered and walked through the huge door, Evie could do nothing but look around and appreciate the luxurious luxuries within the imperial palace.

The place was not like he had ever seen. He thought all the palaces were almost exactly the same but this one had surpassed every palace he had ever seen. How rich is this vampire?!

Finally, they stopped a few steps in front of another large door that seemed to be the entrance to the large dance hall. Evie looks at Gavriel, wondering why they stopped.

"If something bothers you or makes you feel uncomfortable, don't hesitate to tell me." He whispered, causing Evie to blink.

He could only nod, biting the inside of his lower lip. As they stepped forward, the music became louder in his ears.

Large chandelier lights are very pampering to the eyes. As he imagined, the dance hall shouted nothing but grandeur and elegance. It was a dream place.

Women with beautiful dresses and glittering gems move gracefully while the men move so dashingly with their partners.

Everything and everyone is truly an amazing sight to behold.

The party was lively, and the atmosphere was not heavy at all. He can see the vampires having fun – smile, talk, and dance. At that moment, a single thought appeared in Evie's mind. These vampire behaviors and actions are truly human-like. He shocked himself even when the thought popped into his mind.

Has he ever thought about what kind of life vampires have other than killing humans and drinking their blood? Never does. Till now. Now that he thought about it and even watched it with his own eyes, he would never think they could even smile and laugh like him as well.

As strange emotions begin to develop within him, he feels a slight pull of Gavriel.

"Let's go." He said and Evie nodded. He took a deep breath as he subconsciously tightened his grip on his powerful arm.

The vampires began to notice them and Evie felt as if more and more eyes were on them as they stepped further into the dance hall.

The uplifting and gentle music continued to play and the couple on the dance floor did not stop, so why did it feel like the atmosphere suddenly became heavy? Evie's expression slowly changed.

He could only think of one thing back then and the fact that he was definitely the reason why the atmosphere changed. He is the only outlier there – the only weird one.

Vampires do not welcome his presence. But they knew he was coming, didn't they? The vampire emperor himself invited him.

The announcement acknowledging the presence of the second prince and his wife reached Evie's ears and she further tightened her grip on Gavriel's hands.

The slow march to the emperor's throne is one of the scariest marches Evie – has ever gone through perhaps just a second after her own wedding parade down the aisle!

He wondered if Gavriel could hear his loud heartbeat in his chest. It seemed like he was doing so because he had already leaned closer to whispering to her.

"Quiet, wife. I'm right here." She said and Evie wondered how her words could easily make her heartbeat soften a little.
