He's Not The Best

He's Not The Best
85. The Eyes of Someone

Someone's Look

Winsi sipped her order of fresh tea, only then took the phone from inside the bag. He looked at the screen and took a deep breath. The girl chose to reject the call rather than serve it.

“Why not lift?” ask Nafadi.

“Let it be better to continue eating first and then call again.”

“Which is it from?”

“Erlan.” replied Flat province she herself does not know why the man called her. For him this will be very troublesome.

When his phone was turned off, there were dozens of times the man contacted him, whether actually what to talk about, because they did not have an interesting topic for chat at all.

“Erlan? Hmm ... he's funny, handsome again, you don't like it?”

‘Actually what is the size for likes or dislikes between men and women? Is it just about good looks, beauty or other advantages such as possessions or cleverness? Then, what if a woman does not have all that, what is the word like to be not entitled to her?’ thought Winsi.

The girl did not answer Nafadi and continued to enjoy her food. Likewise, the man did the same, they spent food on the plate and drinks in the glass to the toilet, so that nothing was wasted.

After wiping her lips with some tissue sheets, Winsi immediately grabbed her bag and picked up the phone then, pasting the flat object that continued to sound it into her ear.

“Halo!” winsi said her tone sounded annoyed.

From across the street Erlan answered with joy, the man did not expect that Winsi would receive his call.

“How are you doing?” asked Erlan from the other end of the phone.

“Good, Thank God. Say it! What do you need to call me?”

“Why are you doing that anyway?”

Winsi was silent, not commenting or answering Erlan's remarks because for him it was an unimportant question.

“Say! Or am I hanging up?”

Meanwhile Nafadi saw the interaction of two opposite-sex children, with amused feelings. He thinks many women like Erlan, he is quite handsome and smart.

However, what he saw to Winsi, was completely different so he was only able to shake his head. The girl did not look at Erlan at all as an established man who could indeed be loved. She wondered why the girl could be so sniffy in fact, just talking over the phone.

While waiting for Winsi to finish talking on the phone, Nafadi paid their order bill at the cashier then, sat back down.

“Good, well, I just want to say if you don't have to apologize,” Erlan said again in a soft voice.

Wilinsi.

“Halo, Win, you still there?”

“Hmm ...”

“Yes, I'm sorry, I was wrong with you?”

“What's your fault?”

“I often call you Buluk boy! Sorry ...!”

“I've forgiven you.”

“Really?”

“Yes, if nothing is talked about again I hang up the phone.”

“Wait!”

“What else?”

“How's Mom doing now?” Erlan's question immediately made Winsi roll her eyeballs, her face looked more serious then, asked again.

“What's wrong with Mom?”

“Ya just say it now!”

“Mother is sick, in the care too, her room is next to Grandpa!”

Meanwhile, a man who had been watching Winsi got up from his seat and walked over.

But at the same time, Winsi stood up and said, while closing her phone. “Mas Adi! Come home. I'm going to Jakarta right now!”

“What's that? Just came yesterday.” Nafadi asked as he moved from sitting down and took his car keys and then, walked out following Winsi, who had first stepped outside the restaurant while putting his phone in his bag.

Someone stared at the departure of the two humans blankly.

*****

Arriving at Nafadi's house, Winsi immediately entered the room and took the bag of clothes that he had just empty yesterday but, this time he only brought two clothes, he only brought two clothes, because there are many other clothes in Arkan's house.

Along the way, Winsi and Nafadi did not have any conversation at all, they were silent with their own thoughts until they arrived home. The girl was completely reluctant to say what happened.

Breath leaning on the side of the door noticed the hurried manner of Winsi while folding both of her hands in front of her chest, the man intermittently sighed deeply. He did not see any excess expression that showed sadness or worry on the girl's face.

Winsi's facial ripples were indeed so flat as if whatever was happening before him was nothing, all ordinary. Despite this, his eye rays could not cover up if there were such a deep wound, which he could not reveal to just anyone.

Nafadi heard from Arkan that this girl should not be treated harshly, his best friend also advised him not to say anything related to verbal violence to a qanita. It also reminds him of everything that is forced on the private self intimately.

Arkan also plays a role so that he does not close the door to the room of Winsi, which will always be open even though he sleeps at night.

“Don't you turn off the room lights though, he's asleep and the lights are still on!” That's another Arkan message.

Last night when the girl was sleeping, Nafadi had woken up and saw that the door of Winsi's room was not tightly closed, so that others could enter it freely. He was not a hypocritical man who was not curious about what was going on inside. Moreover, the room lights are still on even though, the night is already that late.

He tried to push the door a little and saw the girl asleep still wearing full clothes, not even taking off her hood.

Nafadi was also curious and asked Arkan the cause repeatedly, but, the man remained firm with his stance and did not tell him anything, what happened to Winsi in the past made the girl behave like that.

The man did not expect that Winsi really had a trauma because, the first time they met at the airport, the girl looked ordinary, even when talking they were immediately familiar. He did not refuse when Nafadi asked him to call Mas Adi instead of Om, as he first called him. It was the call of familiarity of all his friends.

The girl was actually of the quiet and humble type. However, if you are familiar then, he will be a warm and pleasant person. Indeed in certain moments alone he will have an ignorant face that seems to be around him is not important.

Nafadi's decision to separate the room with his Waila—kannya and Winsi, it is appropriate because the personalities of these two children are completely different like the earth and the sky alone.

Initially, Waila wanted Winsi to stay in one room with her. However, Nafadi abandoned the intention to comply with his son's wishes, after getting several messages from Arkan, which was not possible if the two children were in one room.

Waila was so excited to know that, there would be a woman of her own age living together.

He wished that the child could sleep with him because it was so much fun, if there was someone he could tell to just get him some water to drink, when he wakes up at night so there is no need to bother taking it on the table. The distance of the table with the bed is close, but, he is often lazy to do it himself if he is thirsty.

When he first saw Winsi, he was happy enough to see her face that was quite beautiful and pleasing to the eye, he looked no shame when introduced to his other friends. However, he did not expect that it turned out that Winsi had a personality beyond his expectations.

Waila is a slightly spoiled child, she thinks that Winsi can be like her other friends, who can be ordered or obey everything she wants.

“What happened at home, why are you silent?” tanya Nafadi, made Winsi stop her activity and look at the man with a long sigh. He had yet to reply, when suddenly Waila came out of nowhere, directly barging in.

The girl looked at Winsi who was packing in the room then, she asked, "Where are you going?"

"home." Winsi called indifferent.

"Is Erlan's sister home too?"
