The Days that Passed (Honest)
Winsi was stunned, he did not know what to do while Hanifah found out from Erlan's confession that, they were brothers. However, he wanted to tell the truth as it was this time. The girl took a breath for a moment then turned to look at Hanifah, who was sitting next to her with a smile.
“Sister Han, it's only natural that between me and Erlan it doesn't look alike, Brother. You see, we're not really brothers, we don't mean siblings. We're foster brothers, Erlan's father raised me to be his son and now my mother wants to marry Dad. Yes ... We automatically become brothers, right?”
Hearing Winsi's words, Hanifah was stunned, she looked at Winsi then smiled and nodded as if she understood what was really happening and about the dissimilarity, caused by their parents who were clearly different.
“Ooh. So, now your mother is not married to Erlan's father, is that it?”
“Not yet, they just planned it and earlier they asked for their blessing, so I agreed to their relationship. Of course I bless them I'm glad they're happy. How Brother? I'm right, right, if you have any hope that Dad will be happy.”
“Are you an orphan? You don't have a real father? Why could Erlan's father make you his son?”
Now it was Winsi's stunned turn she didn't know what to say anymore now out of worry. If he says honestly he has no father, even though he has his Basri—bapak, it means he is lying and will sin.
Indeed, he was not recognized by his father but, does he have to admit that his father did not recognize him as a biological child so that others consider him an illegitimate child? He certainly does not want if anyone will consider him like a father who thinks so. That's impossible .. He has to be honest.
“There I have a Father but, not knowing where he is now, it's been a long time. Now my mother is officially divorced and will marry her father Erlan.”
“Oh so it is .. yes, if so, I'm sorry! Oh yes, Win, thank you, the food!”
Winsi nodded, he went back to enjoying a snack while waiting for Runa and Arkan to return from the streets. At first glance he glanced at Arkan's cell phone lying on the floor of the hall by his side. The object rang again but Winsi ignored it when, Arkan just believed, leaving personal objects just like that to him.
Winsi saw the call from Erlan again, she thought for sure she wanted to chat with her father until the girl ignored him. He no longer wanted to see his face or chat with the man. He has declared a cold war, even colder than when the United States declared a cold war with the Soviet Union long ago.
After Runa and Arkan left the place, Winsi did his usual activities.
In the days that followed she got into a better relationship with Hanifa, the woman treated her kindly and even impressed favoritism. However, it does not make Winsi big head and arrogant because it has the support and special treatment of Hanifa.
Winsi still perform all the same obligations as the other santri, although, there are indeed some events that make some santri surprised. One day there was a man who lost money in his room so that all the students in the same group were called, except for Vinsi.
“How much money is lost?” hanifa asked at that time, she was indeed the person in charge of the room where Winsi was.
“A hundred thousand!” Reply to one of the children who lost money and she cried.
“Who knows or found your friend's money!”
All were silent until the santri realized that one of them was not present, namely Provinsi which was not among them. Hanifa defended him, saying that he was still practicing basketball, for their championship next month against other schools. Therefore, he was told not to be present there.
At that time Hanifah also defended him and said that it was impossible for Winsi to take money because for him the value was so very small. He understands the boy has the tuition that Arkan gave him more than enough.
When Winsi returned to the dorm after basketball practice, his housemates asked him why he did not come when there was a call, to gather in the dorm room. Of course he didn't know it because he was in the middle of the field. He wondered why no one called him.
Some of his friends were cynical to him and some told him everything that happened that day so he understood the cause. Then, Winsi calmly took out the money and gave it to the friend who lost it instead.
The next day when Winsi met Hanifa, the boy asked her not to treat him differently because she was not good with her friends. But the teacher explained that he did not intend to do anything beyond reasonableness, only it was impossible to interfere because he was practicing.
Winsi who has a high and strong body, became the mainstay of her school. At the time of the match, there had been fraud but the person who committed the fraud did not want to admit and, refused to take a penalty, even challenging the group of Winsi off the field. This arrogant attitude made the girl emotional. Without thinking long he raised his fist or in karate called by sudan cuki mainstay.
Unexpectedly, the boy who committed fraud retaliated against Winsi more fiercely until finally the girl was forced to throw a barai kick or kick to the side that severely hit the opponent's waist. The opponent fell to the ground and Winsi was found guilty of violence.
At that time Hanifa went forward to defend and fiercely showed some evidence, about cheating through video recordings until Winsi was not punished for being judged in self-defense.
Hanifa and Winsi were getting more familiar of course they always talked about Erlan if they happened to meet while relaxing. However, Winsi always responds coldly to the conversation of his teacher when it has been discussed about the man.
The beautiful teacher of Winsi in addition to being in charge of the dormitory, he often helps one of the teachers in charge of memorization of Al Qur’an if the time is for children to deposit their memorization.
Usually when tasmi’ read each child's memorization, both teachers and children need calmness and concentration. If they flank one juz in a week, then when tasmi’ is done, they must read the memorization continuously without pause.
Likewise, when a santri ships three, four, or five juz, then when tasmi’ they must read it without pause, except, for the purposes of his wishes.
In three years of studying at the Al Hijrah integrated High School, Winsi managed to bring several achievements. Integrated school is an educational institution that adheres to the boarding school system or study full day while combining with pesantren in it.
Winsi's achievements, in addition to academics, sports, also memorization of Al Qur’an which became his mother's hope.
Runa once said to his son, “Wiwin .. If you manage to memorize one Koran or a total of 30 juz then, it is the same that you have given a crown for Mother in heaven.”.
However, Winsi did not manage to memorize that much because she also diligently memorized some school lessons that she thought were important for her future.
“Excuse Wiwin, Bu ...”
“It's okay .. do as you can, don't push yourself.”
Repeatedly the boy apologized to his mother for not being able to comply with Runa's wishes. During this time Winsi only make memorization of the Quran, as extracurricular outside the subjects. However, his mother was not disappointed and was proud enough that his son was able to memorize some juz only because Winsi was quite good at lessons and won championships in other fields.
“Still education as strong as your ability to live it, as long as you intend, to support the life of the world and also your hereafter. Because all that is important and do not ignore one of them.”
Runa's advice is always ringing in his head, let alone an ustaz always just tell the santri that an intelligent person is the one who always thinks about life after death.
That was how day after day passed until one day Winsi felt that there was something strange in the dormitory because she had never seen Hanifa for nearly a month.
“Eh, where is ustaz Hanifa who has never looked?” ask a friend.
“Yes, I'm also surprised I never saw it, it's been a long time. Though bertar we farewell, right?” said Nia, a friend of Winsi during the pesantren, his body is still fat.
“Iya, but if not wrong, he said the heck Ustaz Hanifa ...” said another friend was cut off because there was someone behind them calling.
“Winsi!”
