Smiling When I See It
Badri looked at the two opposite-sex humans chatting in front of the guest room door.
She had been awake since ten minutes ago, and asked her nurse to push her wheelchair and then, out of the room because she was hungry, wanted to eat something sweet. He had been waiting for Runa's usual snack, but, on the small table in the room was empty.
It was when he came out of the room that he heard Arkan laughing loudly, making him turn his head. He looked at Saina and Arkan who were having a serious chat and were unaware of his arrival.
“What are you talking about? Saina, when did you come?” ask Badri flat. He looked at the two people before him that were full of question marks.
Without thinking what the consequences would be, Saina immediately scattered herself under Badri's feet while crying.
“Basic, stupid!” arkan muttered while turning his eyes away.
While Saina was on her knees trying to grab the sympathy of the old man before her, by telling her what had happened to her parents in Amsterdam. All his business was destroyed and they left a lot of debt so that in just a few months he had fallen poor because all their wealth and savings were used up to pay off all debts.
Badri took a deep breath during hearing the story and Isak cried Saina, while holding her chest.
“Enough!” Arkan yells at Saina's arm until the woman stands up but, her footrest wearing high heels is off balance, then, she falls in Arkan's arms. Reflexively the man held it.
“Are you going to kill my father, by saying all that? Stupid!”
Saina gripped Arkan's shirt firmly while saying, “what am I doing?”
“My father's health is deteriorating and you are telling me about your father's death! Didn't you think before you said it?” Arkan said as he gripped Saina's upper arm.
At that moment Saina just smiled obliquely she thought that this was a good opportunity and expected that the old man, she said, want to give some of the property or land he has in return because his parents used to be meritorious.
Badri was seen closing his eyes and rubbing his face with the palm of his hand he refused to see Arkan who had a flat face.
With a vibrating voice the man said, “Do you understand everything?”
“Ya.” Arkan answered briefly he stared worriedly at his father.
“Then, what are you thinking and what are you going to do to help me this time.”
“Daddy ... Why Dad? Dad will live a long and fine life.”
“Basic! The child does not know himself. If you help Saina, it's the same as if you helped me! Do you understand now?”
Hearing Badri's words, Saina hid her smile and turned away. At that time also his gaze rested on Runa who was also standing in front of the room door. Instantly his smile grew more and more, while their position was still the same, as if he was hugging Arkan.
Suddenly Erlan walked over with a limp leg.
“Grandfather, no need to tell Dad. Before grandfather asked, Dad had already thought about it with me and we had already taken the deal," he said as he glanced at Saina and his father at a glance, then chipped.
At that time Saina turned to Erlan while breaking away from the clutches of Arkan.
“What can you agree with a child like you?” sahut Badri's.
“Grandfather thinks I've been working for three years and just studying? I've been taking care of and studying Grandpa's restaurant at Pert, the Kek!" Erlan said confidently.
“That's a new experience of three years, and you're already proud? What do you think?” Badri looked underestimating Erlan.
Of course for the old man, the three-year experience was nothing. He has spent decades exploring various businesses until for him, the experience of working in such a short time will not be a benchmark to be relied upon.
“Daddy ..” Arkan said as he pushed Badri's wheelchair to the dining table, taking over from his trusted nurse. “That's what I'm here for .. I intend to train him like Dad trained me and I don't think it's wrong to let him go abroad to study. It's not finished, three years is just the beginning... So, I don't have to worry.”
Badri seemed to smile with satisfaction at the words of her son. While Erlan returned to her room with documents, Saina followed Arkan.
Basri then said, “Have him manage, the restaurant Mark leads, I think it's suitable for Saina.
Hearing his father's words, Arkan frowned and replied, “Alright, as you wish.”
"Make the deal fair, and give him a bonus every month." Basri continued.
"Good."
"Keep this habit, even if I die."
"good. What else do you want to give Saina?"
"I think, for a while this is enough. Do good to him, even if I'm gone."
"good. I'll live a long life."
As he passed to the dining room the two men turned to the door of Arkan's room, where Runa was standing there looking away.
Arkan still remained in his position pushing the wheelchair, while one of his hands waved at his wife as a gesture for her to approach.
‘What was he doing there and seeing everything? Abaghfirullah' Inner Arkan.
“You're up?” arkan asked as he wrapped Runa's hand around his arm then, kissed her cheek before continuing to walk.
Runa glanced at Saina at a glance then nodded.
"From now on" said Runa.
“Did you make something for me today?” badri asked as soon as Runa walked in his arms.
Runa was a little confused, because he did not prepare a sweet snack as usual for his father-in-law. She almost prepared the ingredients to make odading, when her husband and Erlan came home from the hospital, following Saina's arrival.
“I'm sorry, I'm Dad.” Runa said nervously.
"Here you go, Dad .. he's been getting sick more lately." Arkan defends his wife, making Runa smile.
"Oh. Apparently my great-grandson's a hassle, huh?" badri said with a smile.
"Dad, you have to stay healthy if you want to see your granddaughter born." Arkan said as he kissed the top of Runa's head.
Instantly Sania crunched forward while pulling Runa's hand until her check from Arkan came off.
“What do you mean, did you say sorry? What does it mean that you don't take good care of Uncle? What kind of daughter-in-law are you?”
