The Limits of Reason in Association
As he spoke, Erlan stepped away from Arkan and, ignoring his father's call. He walked upstairs to see if the woman was there. Meanwhile, Arkan immediately got up from his seat and followed to prevent Erlan from bothering him.
“Listen,” Arkan said when he caught up with Erlan and held her hand. “Did I never teach you how to respect others, what is this way of drawing the attention of that child?”
Hearing his father's words, Erlan fell silent and just looked at Arkan with a pus, looking at his eyes as if to say, ‘all of it is my business and the father does not need to interfere!’
Because Erlan just kept quiet Arkan continued talking.
“You should know, if indeed he wants to talk or meet you .. he must be waiting for you here, right? But look—dia chose to hide in the meeting room. That means, he does not want to, he has a message with Dad, do you understand now?”
“Keep, I promise you will fulfill her wish, so?”
“Ya.”
After getting such a resolute answer from his father, Erlan did not dare to refute. He knew that Arkan was a man who always kept his promise because that was the principle that his grandfather instilled.
All adult men in a family who are down to being a businessman or entrepreneur, must be able to hold fast to the promises they have made because they hold the promise, as well as holding self-esteem.
Once again Erlan looked up before he returned to his usual activities and assumed that Winsi was not there.
Arkan let out a heavy sigh when he saw the departure of his son who stepped into the kitchen. Then, he sat back in front of the cashier's desk.
He actually did not forbid the two children from getting along. However, he was only trying to maintain the relationship between Erlan and Winsi, staying on a safe and fine track.
Basically they are not mahrams, but brothers because of a marriage of both parents and, Arkan wants them to remain in a corridor of reasonable, honorable merit.
Arkan knows that the two men could have liked each other or married one day but, he also knew that it was not time yet so he tried to keep their feelings from being corrupted by something that was dirty instinct and irresponsible taste.
While in the kitchen, Erlan met Saina and the woman reprimanded her with a sweet smile.
“Why are you pouting didn't you manage to meet that woman?”
Erlan only glanced at him at a glance not responding and joined in putting together a few glasses and dishes in place.
Seeing Erlanz Sania's indifference understood that it looked like the boy was disappointed in his father then, he nudged Erlan's elbow while saying, “Tell me... Do you like the boy?”
Hearing such an outspoken question from Saina, Eren suddenly stopped her hand movements standing straight then, turned her head while furrowing her brows.
“Same as who does aunt mean?”
“Winsi, the woman your father brought.”
Erlan sneered then said, “I like it or not on that woman, it will have no effect on Auntie, yes, right?”
“Ya .. but, maybe you want to say something to him, I'll be there your father asked me to deliver his lunch.”
Hearing Saina's words Erlan's eye light sparkled a little but, then she reassembled a few glasses and said, “Nothing, just go Auntie there.”
“What is it, you don't want to say anything? if there is a message I can pass it.”
Since Erlan was silent, Saina walked over with a tray containing some food, raising her shoulders and leaving the man behind.
Arriving at the meeting room, Saina looked at Winsi who was asleep on the sofa, making her smile and shake her head. Had he been one in the past maybe he would have done something bad to her but, looking at the teenager who was old enough now, suddenly his heart warmed. He estimated that his height was almost the same as his.
He observed the face of Winsi who turned out to be more beautiful than his mother and then, considered it natural that Erlan liked him, maybe even the man had harbored feelings of liking long ago.
He suddenly recalled his teenage years full of useless yells. It must have been there but, what is it now to show regret? He can do good after the destruction.
He's really trying to get better. Even what happened to him was still light, compared to what happened to Winsi. Yes, she still remembered everything the girl had experienced while they were still living together in Arkan House.
“Hai! Aren't you hungry?” saina asked while shaking Winsi's leg to wake her up. As far as Saina the girl had not eaten anything since coming.
Winsi squirmed slowly and then opened her eyes she woke up alertly to see Saina who was nearby.
Looking at Winsi's a priori attitude, Saina smiled, at herself and realized that the line still looked hateful.
“I just brought lunch.” Saina said as she glanced at the food on the table.
“Tante doesn't put anything on this food?”
“Yes. Somebody's spiked poison if you don't believe in eating!”
Hearing Saina's words, Winsi sorted her eyebrows and inched away, shaking her head.
“I don't want to eat just take it again!”
Suddenly Saina laughed loudly, then rubbed her head gently while standing up, she looked at Provinsi right in her eyeball and said, “You know who stained the poison?”
“Who?” Winsi asked with a plain and question mark looking at Saina.
Seeing the expression of Winsi so pure, it felt funny in front of Saina, how could this girl really think that, she had poisoned and told honestly what she had done. A person who truly intended to kill, would be impossible to say!
“Erlan!” Saina replied with a laugh.
“Why did he poison my food?” Winsi said still in his innocent style he wondered why the man wanted to want his death
“You don't know, huh? He likes you, keep ... he has sprinkled the food with powder miss, I think it tastes good, just try it!” After saying so, Saina came out and closed the door laughing loudly.
Arkan reprimanded her when she was already in the kitchen, “Why are you laughing like that?”
Erlan who saw Saina's behavior also looked at her closely, her eyes demanding an answer.
“Oh, just ask the same boy is funny once he,” without guilt. This was the first time he had seen the innocent girl, even impressed dumb. He laughed again at Winsi's expression that looked like an innocent baby.
“Tante no macem-macem, right, same him?” erlan asked, he ignored the gazes of the other servants who were paying attention to the conversation of the three of them.
“Hei!” Saina walked up to Erlan and patted her shoulders gently, “I don't have the heart to jahilin him. Know you? He believed that you were the one giving poison to his food!”
“What's crazy Aunt?” Erlan said in a loud voice, she was annoyed that Saina had already said such a frightening thing to the innocent girl who was lacking in company.
Arkan glanced at Saina at a glance and, about to approach Winsi to the meeting room, when suddenly the phone in his pocket rang. He stopped his steps while taking his phone.
“Halo ...” greet Arkan gently when the flat object is already stuck in the ear. Runa—his wife contacted him. Then, he kept quiet while listening while his forehead creased deeply and then sighed deeply, and said, “Alright, just do it, Hasnu and Neni are used to it, I will be home soon.”
Long enough Arkan listened to Runa who spoke from behind the phone, explaining the circumstances he was facing at home.
“What's Dad?” erlan asked because she saw an unusual reaction to her father's facial features.
Arkan answered his son's question after greeting him and hung up the phone.
“Your grandfather had to be taken to the hospital .. earlier mom said Grandpa coughed up blood. He just needs my approval.”
Arkan thought for a moment, facing Badri's condition which was getting worse. However, he must remain calm because, it is impossible to travel home immediately. He prayed and hoped that everything would be fine.
Had he taken even the fastest flight, it would still not have been able to get there in time. They have to travel across continents and, it takes a dozen hours to get to Jakarta.
Meanwhile Erlan looked at her father in wonder, how could the man look so calm when, according to him, grandfather is in a critical condition.
“Did I ever be as calm as Dad when faced with something, did Dad really have no more worry after seeing the death of mom? About what really scares Dad or panics?” erlan murmured in heart.
“Erlan! Don't shut up, call your sister, get her down. Dad wants to go to the airport now.”
“What, Dad?”
‘'I didn't hear wrong, did I? Dad told me to meet the kid?' inner Erlan.
