Don't Know About Something
Runa continued to pat the old man on the back but, Badri's cough did not stop, even the cough got worse. Finally Runa pushed her wheelchair quickly back home. He took the man to his room and laid him down with the help of the faithful nurse who had accompanied him all this time. Then, contact their family doctor.
They talked while waiting for the doctor to come.
“Dad is Dad okay?” Runa asked with a huff.
But the man did not answer to make Runa worried especially he was afraid of being blamed, if something happened to Badri so he felt guilty for taking him for a walk out of the house and even telling something annoying.
“I'm sorry, Dad, if my story made you dislike.” Runa said repeatedly while enveloping the bodies of her father-in-law who kept coughing.
Unexpectedly Badri shook his head, then stammering between his coughs, he said, “it doesn't matter .. that's not what makes me cough but because I am indeed sick ... maybe it's time to get closer.”
“What does Father mean?”
“Runa .. maybe my time is not much .. I'm sorry, I do not know so far the burden and suffering of you and your child is so heavy ... forgive me for being indifferent to you when I should have loved you like my own son.”
As it turns out, after Runa tells her about her past, Badri becomes guilty. As a parent who has a lot of experience in life, she knows what it's like to live with a man who doesn't recognize his own child. In other words her husband accused her of being a woman of adultery. Of course it hurts.
Especially after she heard that the woman had defended her son, to be willing to go to prison because her husband did not want to defend. Badri used to think that the news of the jewelry theft was indeed true. But hearing the story about Runa's past today, he felt so guilty that he shouldn't have been prejudiced.
Badri asked his servant who was nearby to get a box that was stored in a jewelry cabinet owned by his wife.
“Wear, this is for you.” the man said as he gave the original carved little wooden box of Jepara to Runa.
“What is this Dad?” runa asked as she opened the jewelry box and she was astonished when she saw the many luxurious jewels inside.
However, Runa closed it back and handed the jewelry box to Badri while saying, “sorry Father I don't deserve it.”
“Who said you didn't take it then, what is this jewelry for if I die?” Badri rejects the box and finds out about it back in Runa's lap.
“Dad don't say like that Daddy will live a long and healthy life always.”
“There's no point in living long if you can't do anything like me.”
“Didn't Dad still be able to do a lot of worship even though Dad just sat in a wheelchair, a lot of almsgiving and also remembrance, isn't that worship? Isn't that enough?”
“Yes, You are right but I don't want to trouble many people.”
“Indeed, who's the trouble? Will not the one who takes care also get a reward from Allah?”
“Yes, if the person is sincere.”
“Yes, Dad should also be sincerely taken care of by anyone ... so equally mengikhlaskan.”
After the conversation was completed shortly the doctor contacted by Runa came and immediately checked the condition, and ascertained the state of Badri.
Meanwhile, Runa calls Arkan, but her husband's cell phone is still not lifted.
Rona went back to Badri's room and saw that the doctor had finished his examination and now the old man had fallen asleep. Looks like the doctor has given him a sedative to reduce the burden and no longer helped cough.
“How, Doc? Why suddenly cough constantly?” asked Runa enthusiastically.
The doctor explained that the man would be fine as long as he was not agitated, or that nothing would disturb his calm. The doctor's explanation made Runa understand that she should not say anything bad anymore.
“Good Doctor, thank you.”
The doctor left after Runa got all the explanations and knew what to do. Shortly after that his phone returned to thank and it was from Arkan.
Through the phone Runa said what happened to Badri at home. He asks Erlan what happened, how she is in the hospital, and whether she needs an operation so Arkan cannot receive a call.
“Don't worry he's fine,” said Arman after hearing a barrage of questions from Runa, via his mobile phone.
“If not why, how did I contact but, not raised also I was curious, do not know how it is?”
“Oh, sorry .. about that I missed in the car and I just went to see Erlan handled, he just injured his hands and feet but, uh, he just got hurt, not much maybe in a week also he will recover.”
“Oh, keep what happened why Erlan could accident, how is the motor, now?” Runa again leaned in with many questions making the man smile across the phone.
Arkan explained about the accident. That is, when Erlan tried to overtake the car in front of him, he suddenly saw a passing pedestrian. In order to avoid bumping into the person, he slammed his satire to the right then, fell down. However, the car behind Erlan happened to be at high speed so it was too difficult to avoid Erlan's motorbike falling right when it would pass, making the driver surprised.
Then what happened next was that the car tried to avoid hitting the Erlan motorbike until the driver slammed the satire to the right as well. However, unfortunately, the car hit the road barrier until then two husband and wife who were the owner of the vehicle and sat in the front of the car, died instantly.
Who would have guessed if it turned out, they were both parents of Erlan's own friends. Neither Arkan nor Erlan, currently do not know about the identity of the lone accident victim.
Yes, they do not know if Erlan's friend, is undergoing treatment in the hospital because of a fall so that it gets a lot of stitches in the head. He is currently in a coma, and severely traumatized. While both parents who will see the state of their child, but, actually had an accident and died at that time before they could see what happened to him.
“Try, give Erlan the phone I want to talk.” Runa said still with her curiosity.
“Good.” heard Arkan speak resignedly then, the man gave his cellphone to his son so that it sounded in the ears of Runa Erlan's hoarse and weak voice.
“Halo, Mom? When will Wiwin get home?” erlan asked from across the street making Runa frown in wonder. How could the child ask about Winsi, in her state of pain. However, Erlan's question sounded natural because they had never met. Erlan only came home once a year at the end of the year while Winsi only came home at the turn of the new school year, always when Erlan came home then Wingsi had returned to his boarding school.
That's what always happens in three years.
“Don't think about Winsi, she's still a long time home ... If later he has received a diploma.”
“But I have to go back to Amsterdam in a week, can't I see him, Mom?”
“Can, as long as you want to go there if he can not go home according to his school rules. How are you, anyway? It's quiet later also you meet, which is important now you recover first.”
“Ya, fine, Bu.” Erlan said while sighing softly.
He came home in a narrow time so it was impossible to take time to look at Winsi. When Erlan came home he always used it as a comparison and a lesson between business done in the city and abroad. The hope is simple, go home in a limited time and be able to meet Winsi at once. But in reality, no.
“Lan, you already know who the person who was in an accident with you said he died on the spot, you better find out who they are?”
“Not yet, Mom. Why?”
