Just a Memory
“Iya, Den.” Anas stopped his steps and looked down respectfully at Erlan, but the glint of his eyes glared at Winsi at a glance, then smiled kindly.
While Van's car, carrying Badru and Arkan, had gone out of the yard to the street towards the regional hospital in the city.
Erlan looked back and opened the glass of her helmet. Then, he said, “This, Mang Anas that I told you, he's the one you're looking for right?”
Winsi looked at Anas, with a questionable look to answer all the curiosity caused by Basri's words. He desperately needs clarity about the identity of the illegitimate child who is often mentioned by his father. The truth about who his real father is, so he can get affection or a lot of money to pay for his school tour. However, he does not know what to ask Anas to make sure that he is his son or not.
The man smiled and stuck out his hand to wipe his hair, saying, “You're Runa's son, right?” The woman asked like that nodded. “Kok can be here? Dating yes, the same Den Erlan?” said the man was warm. He smiled funny and winked.
Anas and Erlan were indeed close though, their relationship was only between the employer and the maid or rather the gardener. However, the little master asked a lot about plants and pets consisting of some rare animals, all well cared for by Anas, in the garden behind his house.
“Enak only .. know not Mang, he was welcome in my car.”
“Wah, I can, Den. Not polite Neng, tea?”
“Eh, it's okay Mang, it's not on purpose. Later, I'll tell you when I go home.”
“Den Erlan where are you going? Do not be long yes, later Ismi cry again, Den!”
Hearing Anas' joke, the sound of laughter from the two men was heard crowded, then, without waiting for the next answer from Provinsi, Erlan returned to launch a motor metick, then, with low speed to the road towards the house Winsi which is actually quite close.
Winsi saw the view of the big house that was getting farther and longer, and was lost, being in that place for a few minutes, now only a memory. He wants to tell Meri, or he can't, that he ever went in there even if it's just in his yard.
There was no chat between Winsi and Erlan during the trip, until he reached the front of the house, Winsi asked Erlan nothing more about Anas. Even so, curiosity was still high heading his heart the deepest. According to the girl's judgment, Anas was quite friendly and his smile was gentle. But he can't tell if he's his real father or not. If it were true, his heart would be very grateful, for Anas seemed like a good man, unlike his father.
Erlan, taking off her helmet, revealed her disheveled hair, but still attractive to Winsi, the girl liked it and stared fixedly at Erlan, just like she had done in the car earlier. They again exchanged views with adjacent distances, but what Erlan felt this time was different. The girl he called the buluk looked sweet in his eyes.
This is the love of monkeys, likes at first sight with the opposite sex when a child has just reached adolescence.
Erlan was now third grade at a pretty well-known private junior high school in the city. The news that Winsi heard, only the children of rich people can go to school there. Many children from simple families like himself, but they get scholarships and have extraordinary achievements. When Winsi graduated sixth grade, Erlan also graduated from his first high school.
“Heh! Buluk boy, really did Mang Anas earlier, the person you were looking for?” erlan asked while throwing away his gaze. Then, get off the bike.
“Ck. I guess why? Yes, already there, home.” Erlan gave the order while tilting her head.
“Iya, yes. Thanks!” sahut Winsi, flat. But he remained silent on the spot, not even stepping into his yard, there were doubts and fears clearly implied in his eyes. My car is still there!
Seeing Winsi who did not also enter his house, Erlan understood that the little girl was afraid, so she took the initiative to invite him in with her as a shield or an excuse for her friend.
“Why, Win? You're afraid to go home, afraid to get angry, huh?”
“Ya!” Again Winsi said an honesty to the man in front of him, but usually he was closed and rarely spoke. The inner pressure and fear that often whack and traumatized by the violence that he often receives, causes him to experience a kind of acute self-confidence.
“Ya already, then, come on!” Erlan invited Winsi in, but the girl remained silent making Erlan forcibly wring her hand.
Winsi was aware of Erlan's actions, which made her nervous until she spontaneously released her handrails, suddenly his face warmed up and looked red and there was a tightness from his stomach to his chest due to the man's attitude towards him.
Erlan knew that Basri was looking for his son just to be beaten, he felt sad, it turns out that the girl friend he knew because he lived in a complex and often passed by was experiencing painful things.
‘Hacked with a belt, it hurts, right? Do you often experience something like this?’ Erlan thought deeply, but she did not question him to Provinsi unless the friend himself was willing to tell the story.
“You just go home, there!” reject Winsi, do not want Erlan to accompany him in, he was afraid that his father was still angry and called him an illegitimate child again.
“Why, are you ashamed, if I come in?” seloroh Erlan tried to lure Winsi to talk.
“No, not shy, but ...” Has not had time to say the cause, from the direction of the door of the house appeared Basri who was dressed neatly, it looks like the man was about to leave. He stepped out while whistling and combed his hair with a finger.
Basri looked at Winsi with a smoldering look and clenched hands, but suddenly his eyes softened, as soon as he realized that there was another child beside Winsi.
“True, Om. I'm Erlan.” Erlan said, sanbil extended his right hand to shake the hand of the fat man before him.
‘Wah, it's a great opportunity ..’ Inner Basri while welcoming the hand of the child.
