The Closest Sound

Mery suddenly stopped his bike and turned to Winsi and Tania.

“Ih, you, Mer! Indiscriminate stop suddenly, crazy what!” Tania said as she patted Mery's shoulder.

“Hey, you guys keep talking about people's husbands! Ahk, noisy knows. Whose business is Hanifa's husband, he's handsome, it's none of our business! What a talk you have, Tan!”

“Iya, yes ustazah Mery!”

Meanwhile, Winsi was more curious than before he was silent and did not say any more Merry or Tania until they separated at their respective campuses.

The conversation between herself and Tania finally made Winsi unfocused when the lesson began, even she did not understand what the lecturer explained in front of the room because her mind was always busy to the husband. Repeatedly he looked at the phone screen, to send Erlan a message and make a call secretly so as not to be seen by the lecturer. However, the call was never connected.

It lasted until after the lesson, he still felt bad and also, heartache when not in love. He himself did not understand the feeling so agitated, but since last night the suspicious feeling was gone. He had already forgotten about the matter with the crazy Hanifa, after their romance.

However, everything inadvertently always seems related, although, Tania did not say who Hanifa's husband was, she felt jealous because Erlan was handsome and she was worried that the man Tania said was right, her husband's.

Are all of Mery's sayings about a man's feelings true? Yes, when before marriage Erlan was so curious, he was the one who always contacted Provinsi and sent messages and calls dozens of times but, now that they were married the situation seemed to turn around. When Winsi contacted Erlan earlier, though, dozens of times already, he did not answer her.

Perhaps all that Merry says is that when a man is married, then, his love will be lost almost half of his love before legitimately becoming husband and wife, it is true.

After college, Winsi drove his motorcycle matick in a different direction from his home. The girl did not think about her own state of being unfocused. Several times he almost grazed other riders on the road.

Arriving at the road leading to Hanifa's house, Winsi pulled over and stopped her motorbike, she went down then, sitting on a garden chair that happened to be under a tree. He pondered and re-thought of the actions he should take to overcome his curiosity.

She could not allow anything to do with her husband. Erlan's problem must be related to him, not others. She gave herself up and hung her fate and future to God and her husband, they had made a promise to perform this wedding together. She seemed to take a few deep breaths, before deciding to go home and completely surrender to God.

However, just as he was about to turn around, he saw a car passing at high speed towards Hanifa's house. There was a man dressed as a nurse driving the same car, which Erlan wore every day, making Winsi again disturbed and in the end he rode his motorbike to follow the direction where the car went.

Sure enough, the car was parked in the same courtyard of the house, which he had seen a few days ago. He pulled the vehicle over in a safe place, in front of a small shop and he had already asked permission to leave his vehicle there

Winsi walked closer to Hanifa's house slowly and carefully without removing her helmet, in order to get clear and accurate information, not information based on people's words or hearing alone, he said, but based on real evidence.

Similarly to Erlan, Winsi felt suspicious because of the events she had seen over the past few days.

Not long after that, Winsi saw a man she did not know enter while carrying a package containing food and medicine. The man looked so tired that even his clothes were a little dirty.

The house in front of Winsi is a large house but looks unkempt, painted light blue with some of its weaving is almost dead, there are some large and small windows on the front, and there are some small windows on the front, there is also a large garage.

Winsi entered the open fence and he tried to act as if he was a guest who wanted to come to visit. He knew that if he behaved quietly, it would look suspicious instinctively, if seen the location of housing in a complex that is quite crowded. What if people saw him peeking, he might be accused of theft.

When Winsi reached the window, he heard a loud scream followed by a heartbreaking cry from a woman. Winsi's heart was already beating so fast after hearing a voice he was very familiar with, saying something with a shout anyway, asking the crying woman to be calm.

Thus unpretentiousness between the voice of a woman's cry, followed by the cry of a man.

“Aaa.... I don't want to!” as soon as the voice sounded while crying.

“You must drink, if you want to heal, know?” said a man who was similar to Erlan's voice.

“I don't want to! Nooooo!” the sound of crying is now much louder.

“Hust!” the man shouted even louder as well.

Winsi took another breath now with a deeper pull, then exhaled slowly. He closed his eyes while reading basmalah hoping that what he saw and heard was not what he thought.

Slowly and carefully he looked at the side of the open window. He looked bit by bit forwarding his head so as not to be seen clearly.

Then, as soon as Winsi's gaze turned pushy, his eyes wet as water suddenly shot out from there. While his body trembled violently, for the sake of what he saw back then. His blood seemed to roil in his veins until the crown was hot, his heart was like weaved with thousands of needles, he said, while his chest tightens even pain in the heart and penetrated to the back until sweat soaks every inch of his white skin.

“Erlan!”
