A Tragedy (Again)
Runa looked at Basri and Arkan in turn but, neither answered her ex-husband's question, but she turned around about to step out of the restaurant.
“Runa! Answer my question!” Basri asked while pulling Runa's hand so that the woman who had turned her body back to face him. Instantly Runa frowned and looked at Basri dislikeingly.
“Jawab, Runa, do you want to marry that man, do you think he will be much better than me, he already has his own son!”
“Pak, we can't judge people just by their status or appearance. We, too, are not necessarily good for others. Already, from now on we have no relationship anymore, sir. Don't interfere in my business!”
Basri sees Runa away from him fixedly staring at his back until the figure of the woman gets into Arkan's car and takes him away from his side, is it forever?
Suddenly Basri felt half of his heart empty, filled with nothingness. Something that used to exist, but now it feels more real. The woman he loved was now completely gone, a departure that he had with all his might prevented.
She had often asked Runa to come back but, The woman had always given her the condition to admit Winsi as her own child. But his little heart always refused because, whenever he saw the little girl, he always remembered the shadow of a handsome man who enveloped his wife with affection.
He's a grown man who knows how a man looks when he falls in love with a woman, and Basri catches all of that from the look in Anas' eyes on his wife. He doesn't know where the man is now.
He had already tried to avoid the people who had been looking for him all this time, in the places he frequented because he knew their intent to look for him just for the sake of a piece of divorce papers with Runa. He's not willing! But who would have guessed it was Arkan himself who managed to find it, after almost three months he continued to hide.
It was a pity for him to meet the man in his new project so that he could no longer escape then, what happened today. He regretted ... very, though, what is the difficulty of admitting a child?
‘Ah .. I forgot to ask earlier, where is the boy now?’ batin Basri was full of regrets, while leaving the restaurant with a gamang.
Sometimes man never knows what the path of destiny will be like, it could be if what is expected never appears, the waiting does not return and, everything in his grasp goes.
Meanwhile in the car, Runa sat beside Arkan who was driving, while looking out the window with a bad feeling, and, tears trickled down her cheeks from the grief that her marriage was truly over at this moment.
He used to think that marriage would last and be whole forever. He had a principle that, marry only once in a lifetime.
At that time Runa really fell in love with Basri not because of his kindness alone, but, among other drivers Basri had the most attractive and shady face than his best friends.
But everything ran aground this time as if his struggle for 12 years living together to be his wife is not working at all. He did not know what Provinsi's comments were if he knew this, whether the child would be happy or not.
They had not been together for a long time but, still he could not shake his feelings of sadness. The household he had built with great difficulty and endured in grief was now simply destroyed.
“You want to go straight home or is there somewhere else you want to go?”
There, perhaps if it were close, he would come to the graves of his parents. The bodies of his parents were burned to be found and buried in the same hole. If only he could come to her at this moment. However, Runa just shook her head.
“Nothing, just take me home,” replied Runa weakly not even settling the man beside her.
“Sorry, may I ask you something?”
“What's the problem?”
“Anas, he's a gardener in my house. Do you have a relationship with that person?”
“No, I just found out that he was a gardener at your house at that time. I do know, same him but, I don't think he's a gardener.”
“Don't mind him, he's just from talking, I also don't know the person whose name is Anas who he means is where?”
“Oh. Is it true that you don't have a family here?”
“No, Basri brought me here after we got married, I'm a kara, Ar! Can we go home now?”
Runa had no one around her or anyone who could give her advice as well as a place to complain, she was alone. No children, parents, friends and relatives.
Without telling Arkan to speed up his car until he could soon arrive at Runa's house and let the woman rest, to calm down after he tried to escape the heavy burden he carried.
For the business of his proposal to get an answer Arkan is still trying to be patient because he knows he cannot force his will if he does not want Runa to get away from him. She knew, Runa needed a backrest, or an impingement but, that woman looked so tough to bear her burden.
Already ... Arkan will no longer ask about a decision from someone he loves. They are very mature to think about something for the sake of the best future without coercion. He's resigned to God's destiny, whatever he'll get. Is not every human being never the same in designing a goal? Many people who walk without certainty, while he just wants to realize the beautiful thing that ends in happiness.
*****
The next day Runa opened the stall as usual, she was so excited today because tomorrow she would visit her children's provinces. It didn't feel like for a month they hadn't seen each other, her son wasn't allowed to carry a cell phone until he couldn't call every time. Maybe tomorrow he'll be all day closing his stall and right now he's making a lot of food that can be brought as souvenirs and, some of it for sale.
He served some of the buyers he already subscribed to, this morning. However, without her guessing there was a problem approaching at the time when the buyer started to quiet down. There are three men come to his stall to order coffee and also ask to be served for breakfast rice made by Runa. The three burly men had never appeared there before.
Runa served them well like any other servant in general. However, these three people were rude, by poking some parts of his limbs such as his chin and shoulders. Only this time did he experience such a rude action. One of the people touched his hand with his finger and another person uttered inappropriate words when thrown by a customer at the shop owner.
“I just found out, there is a beautiful widow also a lot of money here! I think it's good if we work on rame-rame!” said one of them.
“By also, tuh!” said one of his friends.
Without waiting, Reflexively Runa snatched the mobile phone at the counter where he kept the money from his daily sales. Then, he pressed the emergency button on the phone and there was only one emergency button, Arkan number.
He did not want to make a call he just pressed the number and ran to his room not far from there, then locked it tightly. Unexpectedly the three people followed him in. The woman was frightened and locked herself in the room she did not care about the merchandise as well as the money she left behind.
“Good yes dear! You are smart yes, enter the room, so we can enjoy it easily!” I heard the three people laughing.
“Come! Let's just break down the door right now!” the other word.
“Good! Who's afraid!”
