Great Marshals

Great Marshals
Chapter 98

Emily walks back to the Clemon family clinic to host her guests.

"You... You're..." Daniel stammered. He frothed in his mouth.

Clinic Clemons' is bustling with noise and excitement. The workers hired by Clemons who lit firecrackers and their opening commotion drew the townspeople to their clinic.

In comparison, the Hinton clinic was deserted; they had already installed shutters.

The rubber-necked city people on the street were attracted by the striking contrast between the two clinics.

Daniel was very embarrassed; he wished he could dig a hole and hide.

"Let's get out of here!" Daniel said with a lump in his throat.

Lacey comforted him, "Dad, it's okay to close the clinic. You don't have to worry about the cost of living. I'll take care of you."

"You're a very good princess." Daniel forced a smile.

Actually, he did not open the clinic to seek profit but to fulfill his dream – dreams that he had been chasing all his life.

Today, his dream was shattered into pieces.

Suddenly, he heard Zeke's voice, "Dad, our guest hasn't come yet. It's not time to go."

Daniel spoke in low spirits, "We have closed the clinic, it will change nothing even if your guests arrive. You have to tell your friends that they don't have to come."

Zeke shook his head and said, "It's too late, they've arrived."

They have come? Where're they?

The Hinton family knew nothing.

At that moment, a flashy black motorcade stopped in front of their clinic.

It was a motorcade consisting of luxury cars where the 'cheaper' among them was the Mercedes-Benz S-class which cost over a million.

A group of men in suits got out of the car with Evan Schneider in the lead.

Behind him are the business partners of the Schneider family – they are all big wheels in the business world.

"Is Mr Schneider here to investigate the location of one of his projects?" Daniel muttered as it was unthinkable that they were here to support him.

Evan Schneider threw a glance at his surroundings before he walked towards Daniel and clasped Daniel's hand with vigor.

"Huh?" Daniel's dumbfounded, "Mr Schneider...You here to support me?"

Evan nodded, "Yes."

With a sweep of his arm, his subordinates walked towards them while holding a pile of towering gifts in his arms.

"Ten million prize money, a large flower stand, and a gift basket from Evan Schneider of Oakheart City."

"Eight million prize money, a wreath, and a gift basket from Tim Walker of Oakheart City."

"Six million prize money, a wreath, and a gift basket from Lambert Johnson of Risco City."

"Bouquet flowers and..."

The jaws of the crowd fell.

It is a great honor to have the richest man in Oakheart City show support at the opening ceremony of a small clinic.

On top of that, they have brought in millions worth of monetary gifts. The revenue from running the clinic is nothing compared to the monetary rewards received during the opening ceremony.

In addition, the opportunity of receiving a flower stand from the richest man in Oakheart City is well worth it.

Finally, Lacey managed to calm down, "Dad, how about we invite Mr. Schneider's in for tea."

Daniel regained his senses and began to stammer, "Mr Schneider, please come in."

Zeke was very kind to remind her, "Dad, I'm afraid we can't get in. Our clinic has been closed; don't you remember?"

Evan Schneider's heart skipped a beat when he saw the locked window coverings.

Goddamn bum! Who's the idiot who dares to close Mr. Clinic. Williams's? He dug his own grave!

Daniel was confused when several cars stopped nearby.

There was nothing special about the cars, but the license plate numbers showed the high social status of the passengers on board.

It's a state vehicle.

Daniel was aghast when he saw Liam George, director of the Bureau of Industry and Commercial, get off the car, accompanied by other officials.
