Great Marshals

Great Marshals
Chapter 42

Emily Clemons and Susan Raynor attended the same university. They were once dorm mates and had a good relationship.

Later, Susan went abroad to continue her studies and the two gradually became less and less communicative.

Now that Susan is back, Emily can't wait to contact her and be in her good book once again.

Although Susan Raynor's family did not belong to the top four prominent and respected families, her family remains regarded as honorable. It's an advantage for Emily Clemons to be close to Susan.

He heard that Susan's father was suffering from severe and unbearable headaches and for a long time, had been seeking treatment in vain.

So, he contacted Lawrence Herbert, asking him to try and treat Mr. Raynor.

Whether he could be treated successfully or vice versa, at least, it would show that he cared. Susan would thank you.

Susan spoke anxiously, "Emily, my father has seen many famous doctors, including some from abroad. None of them can help. Can this doctor you recommend....really cure it?"

Emily comforted. "Don't worry. The doctor I recommend is a leader in the medical industry, not only in Oakheart City but throughout the province of Rivermouth. Even if it can't be cured completely, there will at least be some healing.effect, which can alleviate Uncle Raynor's suffering."

Susan sighed, "I think trying is better than not trying at all."

By this time, William and Lawrence had walked over to meet them.

William looked at Susan Raynor once and was instantly infatuated with her.

She looked at Susan with a feeling of fascination as if she was going to drool.

Susan was quite distracted by his gaze.

When Emily introduces them to each other, William wants to shake Susan's hand, but Susan ignores him. "Come on, let's go. I'm gonna take you to see my dad."

William was a bit embarrassed, but he didn't say anything. As he followed in his footsteps, never once did he take his eyes off his butt.

On the way, Emily receives a call from Jackson Hamilton. There was something urgent that she had to discuss with him at the office.

So, Emily has to go.

Although Mr. Raynor was only in his early sixties, his illness had turned him into an old man who looked like someone in his seventies or eighties, with gray hair and a lethargic spirit.

Even now, he held his head with both hands, hit his head with his fists and occasionally groaned in pain.

Apparently, his headache is back again.

Susan rushed forward and massaged her father's head, feeling sad for him. "Dad, I've invited the best Rivermouth doctors in the field to come and visit you. Let him treat you. Your headache will be gone in no time."

Mr. Raynor sighed sadly, "Oh, my illness, I know very well. There's no cure. You don't have to worry about me. Just take care of the hotel. That's all you need to do."

Susan insisted, "Dad, the doctor is already here. There is no harm in trying. Who knows, this time it might work."

Mr. Raynor resigns. "All right, then. Just do as you please."

Susan quickly beckoned Lawrence to begin.

Lawrence quickly advanced forward, took out his acupuncture instrument box and said, "Teacher, please don't move.at least, it will alleviate a lot of your pain."

Suddenly, Mr. Raynor laughed out loud.

He had no idea how skilled this man was as an acupuncturist, but to be sure, he was a skilled tailor.

So many brain experts from different countries have consulted but were unable to find a cure. It would be very strange if a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine could help.

First impressions of Mr. Raynor about Lawrence Herbert is no good.

Lawrence Herbert skillfully inserted an acupuncture needle into Mr. Raynor's.

As an experienced TCM practitioner, he does so deftly.

As the Chinese saying goes, 'a person who knows can distinguish skills while a person who does, can only watch as a spectator'.

Susan Raynor has no knowledge of acupuncture. As she looked at Lawrence Herbert's skill and dexterity, she felt herself growing more and more hopeful.
