Chapter 49

Daniel rolled his eyeballs. "Stupid girl! What are you talking about? What's wrong with Zeke smoking to release his stress?"

"That's what men do to relieve the pressure that builds up! Same with drinking! Zeke, forget him! Join me!"

Lacey was upset as she turned her head towards Hannah. "Mom, look at me! Quickly turn off their cigarettes!"

However, his mother decided to side with Daniel instead. "I think your father was right."

"Daniel, why don't you take some of your precious Yellow Stork Tower and share it with Zeke?"

"Zeke, please don't heed Lacey's words. He must have been spoiled by us first."

Lacey's parents finally realized how incredible Zeke was after what happened today. Therefore, their attitude changed as they finally learned how to appreciate his presence.

Lacey was silent at how her parents reacted.

Aghhhh! Mama! How could you betray me! You are the one who sets the rules! You said you can't smoke at home!

Lacey felt annoyed as she sat alone, ignoring the three of them.

Daniel returns with the Yellow Stork Tower he keeps for special occasions. He handed a package to Zeke.

"Zeke, Lacey and you are not young anymore. You two should get married soon. I mean, you don't want us to worry about you guys, do you?" Hannah urged them.

Zeke nodded. "Md. Mom, that's what I had in mind, too. I know Lacey always wanted a grand wedding ceremony."

"Therefore, I would like to hold a grand wedding ceremony in a large hall that can accommodate at least ten thousand guests."

"Do you think you're going to hold a concert? A large hall that can accommodate ten thousand guests? I don't think such a place exists in Oakheart City," Lacey mocked her husband.

Zeke replied nonchalantly. "Are you sure? If that's the case, I'll make it myself!"

"Haha," Lacey replied in a disdainful manner.

Zeke suddenly felt speechless as he did not know what his wife meant by that insulting answer.

Are you looking down on me? Hmph! We'll see! I'll impress you and surprise you after I've finished building it!

Daniel and Hannah decide to pause and return to their room after a TV session together.

Lacey glared at Zeke with an annoyed expression on her face. "Hmph! Don't you dare take advantage of my parents just because they're on your side! I won't let you do it your way!"

"If you defy my words again in the future, I... Get ready to spend the rest of your life on the couch!"

Lacey returned to her room angrily right after she finished her sentence.

Zeke let out a long sigh while looking towards Lacey's room.

Meanwhile, Daniel and Hannah see Zeke sleeping on the sofa through the peephole of their bedroom door.

Daniel broke the silence. "Huh, Lacey's overreacting again. How can she get pregnant if they don't sleep together?"

Suddenly, Hana suggested. "We have to help Zeke, right?"

Daniel asked curiously, "What should we do?"

Hannah grabbed the pillow and handed it to Daniel.

Daniel finally finds out what Hannah is doing and thumbs up. "My dear, you are so smart!"

Hannah urged, "Stop talking and let's go!"

He pushed Daniel out of their room with all his might and scolded him. "Daniel, how dare you keep your wealth a secret? Go spend the night on the couch!"

Daniel shouted back, "Okay! Do you really think I want to spend the night by your side?"

The upset man held the pillow he was carrying and walked towards the sofa. "Zeke, why don't you join Lacey in her room? I have to spend the night here."

Zeke was silent because he saw their plan.

To serious? It was a terrible act that came from them. Looks like they're going all-out to play matchmaker with us.

Zeke nodded immediately. "All right, dad."

He decided to take the opportunity they created for him rather than waste it like a fool.

Zeke held onto his pillow and stood in front of Lacey's room. His hands trembled as he tried to knock on his door.

Zeke suddenly became angry because he did not expect happiness to come so quickly.

Chapter 49

Lacey, who was in her room, clenched her teeth with all her might. He had heard his father's conversation with Zeke.

He soon found the intention behind his parents' quarrel. Obviously the fight was just a deliberate arrangement.

To serious? Are you sure I'm your daughter?

They actually tried to send him to my room? What the fuck! Aghhhh!

However, Lacey opened the door and allowed Zeke to enter her room in the end because she knew her parents would not give up until they reached what they had in mind.

"Lacey, I'm sorry for the interruption." Zeke took a deep breath and savored the scent of Lacey left in his room as he finished his sentence.

Lacey instructed him in annoyance, "You're sleeping on the floor."

He went to the closet and got her a blanket.

Even the blanket was fragrant because it belonged to Lacey.

He lay down on the blanket as soon as he put it on the floor. Zeke looked at Lacey's feet as she turned around.

He saw a pair of slender, porcelain-like legs. His feet are as smooth as his.

"I heard women with a pair of small legs usually give birth to girls. I think that girl is great! I can protect you both."

Lacey's face was suddenly grim. "Stupid! Stop talking nonsense! Better stop, otherwise I'll throw you out of the window right now!"

The next morning, Lacey headed to the steel mill and reported to work right after she had taken a shower.

He had become even busier since they bought a few more factories.

Zeke was heartbroken deep down. "I definitely wouldn't let you take over the factory if I knew this would happen."

He washes his face and comes out of Lacey's room.

Hannah had prepared breakfast for Zeke. He greeted her enthusiastically as soon as he saw her. "Zeke, hurry! Come here and try the dishes I prepared for you! I've made you xiaolongbao."

"Thank you, ma'am," Zeke replied with a smile on his face.

Daniel happy. "Together! After all, we are family!"

Zeke was hungry and chewed on all the food.

He spent the entire tray of xiaolongbaos almost instantly.

Zeke wiped his mouth as he told Hannah, "Mom, please bring me some xiaolongbao. I'll stop by Lacey's place and bring her some. He left in a hurry. I'm sure he hasn't had it. Breakfast, right?"

Hana grinning. "Sure! I'll pack it for you soon."

Zeke leaves with the xiaolongbaos that Hannah has brought for her while Daniel walks out of their room.

"Zeke is a great guy. Look how he's taking care of Lacey."

Hana rolled her eyes irritated. "You're right. I mean, he must be better than a heartless man like you!"

Zeke went straight to the steel mill.

He takes a detour as he passes the Schneider family building as he needs to get Evan to start working on a large hall that he will need in the future for his big wedding ceremony.

Zeke meets an acquaintance as he enters the Schneider Tower.

Susan was waiting for Emily because she was going to come with her to the interview.

She was surprised because she met Zeke before Emily was there. Susan rushed towards Zeke and greeted him.

"Mrs. Williams, what a coincidence to meet you at the Schneider family home!"

Zeke replied nonchalantly, "Mm, I'm here to carry out my role as a supervisor."

"The supervisor?" Susan was stunned when she – heard his words, but managed to return to her senses almost instantly.

Zeke is the boss of his father's boss. His father's boss is Evan Schneider.

That would indicate that the Schneider Tower belongs to Zeke as well.

Susan nodded. "I'm sure Mr. Williams has a lot to deal with."

"Can I ask you for a few seconds, Mr Williams?"

Zeke replied, "Speak."

Susan grabbed the invitation card she had brought. "Ten days later, the Global Medical Association Forum will be held in Oakheart City. My father was the adviser to the forum, and he would love you to be an honored guest. May I know if Mr Williams is free for that? certain day?"

Zeke shook his head. "I'm not free."

She walked away right after she finished her sentence, leaving Susan alone.

Whahuh? That her?

However, Zeke turned around and returned to Susan shortly. He took over the invitation card and explained in a heartless tone, "My father might be interested."

He turned around and left once again after he finished his sentence.
