The Grand Marshal will propose to a woman living in the district.
A bold thought appeared in Lacey's head.
"Zeke, don't tell me... Is this just you?"
"Do you like it?" Zeke smile.
"I-I don't know..." Lacey stammered.
"What are you talking about?" hannah and Daniel asked.
"Dad, mom, Zeke said he'd propose to me at the ceremony yesterday..." Lacey explained.
"What?" daniel and Hana. "You mean.. that Zeke arranged all this? Doesn't that mean he..."
"Let's go. We can't keep them waiting" Zeke smiled as he lowered them.
The family left with Zeke, feeling as if they were dreaming.
None of them could believe that Zeke was the Great Marshal.
As they walked out of the building, they saw that a crowd had gathered around the Clemons family.
"Yes God! Emily, when did you become a marshal? I can't believe I live in the same district as Big Marshal's fiancee! What honor!"
"So, the army is here to escort you to the ceremony?"
Emily became the center of attention; she could not hide her smile.
"Initially, I wondered why the Great Marshal invited people like me to the Great Ceremony" Emily said. "I never thought that he really wanted to propose to me at the ceremony."
"Marshal will fall in love with you! You're beautiful!" one of the neighbors praised.
"He's right! How did you and the Grand Marshal meet?" the other neighbor asked.
The neighbors cheered even louder afterwards as they showered Emily with praise.
Lacey and her family were amazed.
What the hell's going on? Are these cars here for Emily, not Lacey?
The way Emily describes how she came to meet the Grand Marshal also makes sense.
It woke up the entire Hinton family.
What happened next was disappointment.
They could not believe how naive they were at thinking that Zeke was the Great Marshal.
There's no way the Grand Marshal is a former prisoner.
In the end, the Hinton family concluded that Zeke must have heard of the Great Marshal preparing to propose in the district where they lived and had used the scenario to deceive them.
Hannah turned to look at Zeke and scolded, "Is it fun playing with our feelings like that? Come on, Lacey, let's go back in."
Zeke was completely speechless. When do I play with your feelings?
That's when Emily noticed Hinton's family. He smiled coldly.
Emily walked towards Lacey and pulled her back. "Now that I think about it, I have to thank you, Lacey. If you don't take Zeke away from me, I'll never meet the Great Marshal."
Lacey's face flushed red and she lowered her head in embarrassment.
Even Emily's mother, Madeleine, made fun of Hannah. "Aren't you bragging that you found a good son-in-law? I remember him helping Daniel become Head of Department. So what's? I'll be the director of the hospital when my daughter marries the Great. The marshal! The first thing I'm gonna do is kick Daniel out of the hospital!"
Hannah was terrified and started pleading with Madeleine. "Wait, Madeleine... It's all a misunderstanding."
Zeke, who had remained silent the entire time, suddenly spoke. "You are there as mere servants. What can you be proud of?"
