My hope is still holding me back from staying there, observing Ram from a distance. I wonder if there is any regret in his heart for his attitude towards me.
As he got off the horse, the man took off his saddle and brushed the horse. As soon as he finished, he turned around to release the horse in the stable. The stallion shook his head, then galloped and stood in the shade. After that Ram left the stables, took off his hat and soaked his head in the horse-drinking tub. While wagging his hair, he put his hat back on and cursed.
"Shoppers! Why would I let him go? I know he's everything to me. She's the best thing that's ever been in my life. The only thing that matters. But what can I offer him? Life here? In an inn that isn't even mine? Half wild horses? Prison records?"
Mumbling with curses, he pulled the slang towards the cage and filled the barrel there with water.
"Letting the girl go is the best option. The only choice."
All right, just continue that stubborn attitude of your head.
That's enough, I thought. I'm sick and I have to go back to the cottage. And I started to step....
Argha!
It sucks! As soon as I arrived at the cottage, I found Mr. Reporter waiting for me. Somehow he got in. But it seemed he made himself seem to be inside his own house. The CD player is turned on and there is a coffee cup on the table.
"Alright," said the man, rubbing his palms. "What do you want to do?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Not calling anymore? Just keep calling" I said in a slightly cynical tone.
"No. I'm all yours."
I closed my eyes, imagining how happy I would have been if I had heard those words spoken from Ram's mouth. "Sorry, sir, but this will never work. Our relationship is over."
"Look, Honey...."
Argha!
"Listen to me! Could this honorable Mr. Reporter listen to me for once? I don't love you, Sir. Never was!"
The man looked surprised for a moment, then smiled patiently. "Purna, honey, you don't mean it, and you know it. Okay?"
It was like talking to my dad. Like Mr. Hartawan, my father only heard what he wanted to hear. Never mind, my mind is grabbing a hat. Facing that man can make me depressed.
"I want to ride."
"I'll go with you."
"Whatever!"
I think it's good. Who knows, this Mr. Reporter can't ride a horse. At least Ram wouldn't be there to see the man humiliate himself.
As soon as we arrived at the stables, the cowboys had already helped the horsemen ride each other's horses.
"Do you have a horse for two more?" my many.
I smiled as the young man led a pair of horses from the stable. I can recognize Ram, Ram's favorite stallion that Ram chose for me. After that, the young cowboy quickly put up his saddle, helped me up the horse, then set up a stirrup for Mr. Hartawan.
"Alright, brothers," said the young cowboy. "This is your guide."
I turned around, hoping to see Emil, then felt my stomach churn when I saw Ram appear. Our views meet each other. The heat seemed to sizzle between us. Had anyone walked past between the two of us back then, I was sure it would have burned to ashes.
He said he wouldn't drive this morning and asked Emil to replace him, why did he show up? Heh! She may not want to spend her life with me, but she wants me, as much as I want her.
With great difficulty, Ram turned his gaze away from me, his eyes narrowed unhappily at the sight of Mr. Reporter by my side, then he took a position in front of the group and asked Alex to be behind.
I stared at Ram's back with a slack. Today is getting better and improving, my mind as I sighed my horse and took a position almost at the back.
That day, the evil demon must have whispered to Ram in order to choose one of the difficult paths through the hinterland. He let Alex, the cowboy who was driving with him lead in front after the first five minutes. Ram must have also realized that the wealthy Mr. Hartawan had never rode. Listening to the same evil demonic whisper, Ram told him to gallop. The Mr. Reporter was immediately seen jumping in the saddle like popcorn in the frying pan. I do not want to stay silent, while trying to sit in a natural position, I deliberately help Mr. Reporter, train him even if in vain. The man would be in pain all over his body after he finished riding. But at least what I do will attract Ram's attention and make him jealous.
As soon as I crossed the river and went down a long and winding path, I felt my anger begin to peak. It's not an easy path we've been through before. Ram was completely intentional.
Hoping to make Ram jealous, I grabbed and touched Mr. Hartawan's arm. "Are you okay?"
The man looked at me while smiling weakly. "Y-yes. It's just the road's a little bumpy."
I pulled my harness, ordered my horse to walk, stopped its running. Mr. Hartawan's horse also slowed down. Within minutes, the rest of the group was nowhere to be seen at the turn of the line.
"Excuse me, Miss Mahardika," said a deep voice behind us. "You and your friends should go after the others."
While pretending to smile sweetly I turned towards Ram. "I'm sorry" I said. "But I can't seem to keep up with their pace." I stood in the stirrup and rubbed *my ass. "I'm in so much pain."
Ram glared at me, he understood that I was just lying. And I glared back at him, challenging him to call me a bully.
While putting the fingers on his lips, Ram whistled loudly. I knew it was a signal for the cowboys to slow down their pace until all the members of the group caught up.
While smiling with satisfaction I sat back in the saddle and clucked Ram, my horse. I realized Ram's gaze was behind me.
We caught up with the other horsemen not long after. Most of them had already descended from the horses and were sitting under the shade of the trees along the shallow stream.
"Everything okay?" exclaimed the young cowboy as we appeared.
Ram nodded. "Yes," he said.
I held back the grin of hearing the aggravation in his tone.
"Okay, Ladies and gentlemen, let's continue the journey."
I deliberately slowed my horse's pace again, letting the other horsemen precede. I did it because I knew it would upset Ram, even though I wasn't sure why I was doing it other than because I was so mad at the man. As if Mr. Hartawan's appearance on the farm was my fault. I've told him that my relationship with Mr. Hartawan is over and that's exactly what it is. But it's as if Ram doesn't believe it. But even if he believes, he still feels good about taking unilateral decisions and turning my beautiful story that last night into as bad as this afternoon.
Well, go get it, honey. The more the flames of jealousy burn you, the more you will not be able to get me out of your life. As you swear, if I can't find my soulmate other than you, you can't find a soulmate other than me. I'll never let you go. You are my soul mate who never dies. It won't die.
