Arriving at the office, Kanaya immediately retrieves the bag from the locker and bids farewell to her senior. He asked for permission to go home early on the grounds of not feeling well.
"Go home and rest, Nay. Hopefully tomorrow will be better." said the senior gave permission.
Kanaya returns home with a troubled heart. He threw the bag he was carrying on the floor. The feeling of disappointment he felt made him involuntarily shed tears. He climbed into the bed, lying curled up without changing his work uniform first.
"Why are we lying again." he murmured softly with a stifled sobbing. His heart really felt pain.
Kanaya's cry turned into a cry. He needs a release to remove the tightness that feels squeezing his chest.
Shortly afterwards, the sound of the door opening. Reino walked in, slowly approaching the bed. Kanaya turned her face back to Reino to hide her increasingly flowing tears.
"Honey.." call Reino while touching his wife's shoulder. Kanaya.
"I'm sorry." said Reino pleading.
Kanaya had no regard for Reino at all. He closed both eyes to ease the rumbling in his heart. However, when his eyes closed, it was precisely the shadow of Reino and Nina who were alone in the restaurant that was dancing in his mind.
"Nay, give me a chance to explain."
Kanaya gets out of bed, about to leave the room but is immediately prevented by Reino.
"We need to talk, Nay!" exclaim Reino with a slightly higher tone of voice.
"What to talk about again, Mom?! Everything was clear to me. She lied again." With tears in her eyes, Kanaya looked at her husband.
"You misunderstood! That's not the case." said Reino trying to defend himself.
Kanaya. His emotions are mounting. She thought her husband was just looking for an excuse.
"What do I see, mom? I'm trying to trust you. But what do I get?!! That's liar!!!"
"Nay, please don't go too far" Reino said softly as he took a deep breath. He began to get angry because of his wife's words.
"Yes! I am the outrageous. I shouldn't have married you. I'm just a village girl who's not your equal, mas. You should be with a woman like Nina!" kanaya shouted starting to spill her heart.
Reino frowned, trying to ignore his wife's baseless words.
"Mom mas Reino even likes it, right? Nina is the perfect woman. He fits in with you. Beautiful, polite, educated and most importantly she is equal to you." continued Kanaya lirih.
"I never compare you to him, Nay." said Reino.
"Mas need not compare. I know myself enough. Better to agree to the match."
"Nay, enough!!! Stop saying!!" snapped Reino involuntarily to make Kanaya instantly silent.
All this time, Reino had never snapped at him even once.
Kanaya and Reino stared at each other intently. Both Kanaya's eyes were glazed over, wet by tears. Reino's anger that had flared up was immediately extinguished when he saw his wife's tears falling again.
"I'm sorry, honey. I didn't mean to yell at you." said Reino softened, trying to apologize but Kanaya chose to leave the room without saying anything. He headed to the guest room and locked the door from the inside while Reino was still standing where he was standing.
At 11 p.m...
Reino again knocked on the guest room door, hoping Kanaya would open the door and talk to him. This time, however, he did not succeed in persuading Kanaya to leave.
"Darling, open the door. Eat first, you haven't eaten since, have you? You'll be sick." exclaimed Reino from outside.
Kanaya is not flinching. He was still lying on the bed. His eyes were empty. His eyes. He heard Reino calling him many times but his strength seemed to be drained. Body's limp. His head felt throbbing from crying for too long. Again, he ignored Reino's call.
Leave me alone, mas.
...***...
Kanaya came out of the guest room the next morning. His head feels dizzy. He walked to the bathroom located near the kitchen.
After cleaning himself, he went back to his room to pick up clothes in the closet but instead he found his bed empty.
Where are Reino's? Is he leaving so early?
With a chaotic feeling Kanaya decides to leave for work immediately. He hopes to forget a moment of quarrel last night and get his peace of heart back.
That morning, Mr. Dadang was standing guard at his post when he saw Kanaya coming.
"Morning, neng." said he was friendly.
Kanaya tried to smile even though her heart was in a rage.
Along the hallway of the back room, several OB employees were whispering as Kanaya passed in front of them.
Why do they see me like that? inner Kanaya wonder.
Regardless of the strange looks of the people in Kanaya's office started her work. He quickly looked at the notice board to see the division of tasks today.
Kanaya: Secretary Room and President Room
"Why should I get a job there now anyway?" kanaya muttered listlessly. He was reluctant to meet Reino now.
With heavy steps, finally Kanaya inevitably went to Maya's room to do her job.
"Morning, mbak May. Tumben came early in the morning?" greet Kanaya upon entering the secretary room. He had not expected Maya to be in his room this early.
"Yes, Nay. There is a sudden meeting in Batam that must be attended by Mr. Reino later at noon. Here I am again ready for the files. Didn't Reino say?"
Kanaya shakes.
"Maybe he's busy, ma'am. So no time to talk." said Kanaya trying to cover up.
"Yes too. I just got the news suddenly, fortunately yesterday I've printed the file."
Kanaya responds to the chatter while cleaning up Maya's room.
"Oh yes, mbak. I'll clean up Mr. Reino's room later? My head is suddenly dizzy."
Maya stops collecting files on the table and approaches the girl.
"You sick, Nay?" maya asked as she touched Kanaya's forehead with the back of her hand.
"No, ma'am. Just a little dizzy."
"Then anyway? But you're a big shoot, look." Maya takes the small mirror in the desk drawer and gives it to Kanaya.
After seeing the reflection of his face in the mirror, Kanaya realized that what Maya said was true. Face pale.
"Maybe it's just exhaustion, ma'am. A little rest is better."
"Mending you a break at home, Nay. I said Reino sir?" tukas Maya quickly grabbed the phone but Kanaya prevented it.
"Don't mbak. Don't need. Just a headache. I just need a little break downstairs. I'm going down first huh mbak."
Maya nods and puts the phone back into place to comply with Kanaya's request.
"May, is everything ready?" suddenly Reino comes out of his room, surprising Maya who is daydreaming about Kanaya.
"Eh, anu, yes.once it's over, sir." Maya replied.
"What's up, May? Why are you such a confused person?"
"Ah, it's nothing, sir. Just thinking about Kanaya.."
Uh sneaking...! inner Maya realized her carelessness.
"Kanaya? Is he from here?" Reino asked back.
"I.iya, sir. Wanted to clean dad's room but it didn't."
"Why not, May?"
Duh Pak Reino this if it is very long anyway, did I say yes?? grouse Maya.
"It looks like Nay is sick, sir." Maya finally tells Reino the truth.
Sick?? I'm sorry, honey. It must have been our fight last night.
"May, you postpone my trip to Batam."
"But, sir, they say it's urgent."
"I don't care! If they don't want to, just cancel the project. I have more important business!" reino's orders were firm.
"Good, sir. I'll tell you."
