Grabbing Dreams

Grabbing Dreams
Chapter 15 ATTENTION

Reino was just about to start his car engine in the office parking lot when there was a thunderbolt in the sky. It seems like the rain is coming down soon. He slowly drove his vehicle out of the parking area. Outside, it turned out that the black cloud had darkened, as if it could no longer hold rainwater. Reino sighed. He remembered Kanaya. Has he reached home? It will soon rain.

"Come, Nay. Pick up the phone." muttered Reino while staring at the screen on his phone.

Unapplaced. Reino dialed the number a few times, but no answer. Where's she? reino said in his heart.

The rain began to fall soaking the earth. This, of course, made Reino more worried. He could not imagine Kanaya riding a motorcycle in this kind of rain. He should have taken the girl without a care even though he refused.

Reino drove slowly in the increasingly heavy rain. He looked to the left right along the road he was on. He hopes to meet Kanaya on the road.

"Are you home, Nay.." murmured to himself.

Reino pulled over for a moment to think. He then grabbed his phone and looked for Rita's number. Remember the story of Kanaya at that time, if he stayed one boarding house with Rita. Soon he called Rita.

"Hello, Rit. Is Kanaya home yet?"

"Nay? Not yet sir. He said he had overtime until 4 but had not come home yet" Rita explained.

"Veasy? Oh Okay. Thank you, yeah."

The watch in his hand shows at 17:45. Could he still be in the office? There was nobody in the office.

Reino turned his car back towards the office as the rain fell more and more. Reino was worried. The rain on the windshield makes his view limited. He slowed his car down in the wind until he finally reached his office. He hurried out of the car. Half-run he headed to the Cleaning Service room located on the 1st floor but quiet no one there. He grabbed the phone in his pocket and tried calling Kanaya's number again.

*The number you are heading to is inactive or out of reach*.

"Ah shit! Why not be active!" upset ass.

In the midst of his panic, a security guard came out of the elevator.

"Good night, sir. Why are you still in the office?" ask Mr. Dadang, senior security at the "RR" Group.

"I'm looking for CS employee Mr. Dadang. Kanaya's. Said his friend he was late."

"Oh with Kanaya? Ada sir. I met you in the back, cleaning your cleaning tools, sir."

Without waiting for Mr. Dadang's explanation, Reino immediately looked for Kanaya behind. Turns right. The girl was sitting on her back to Reino, a corner on the back porch of the office, twitching her shoulders. He must be exhausted, Reino said.

"Not home yet, Nay?" greeting Reino surprised Kanaya.

Kanaya turned her head towards the source of the voice and was surprised to see Reino's presence there. Kanaya got up from her seat and approached the man.

"Hadn't come home yet?" kanaya asked in surprise, because she remembered that afternoon Reino had come home.

"You too why are you still here? It's night, Nay." Reino asked back without answering Kanaya's question.

"So I was going home, sir, but suddenly outside of the heavy rain. I can't go home. So while waiting to subside I continue cleaning sir." he explained.

"Keep your subscription motorcycle hasn't arrived yet?"

"Jek's driver??" Kanaya's confused. He scratched his non-itchy ear.

"Yes the motorcycleman. You said to me that you were picked up by a subscription motorcycle taxi driver, so you don't want me to take you home" Reino reminded.

*Upsss. Though just looking for an excuse just let not go home with the boss, regret in heart*.

"Eh yes, sir. Anu.tukang ojeknya not so pick up. Don't have a raincoat he said." Kanaya answered all along to make Reino smile amusedly.

*You're not good at lying apparently, Nay. Reino batin*.

"That's it. Come with me." without asking any more Reino pulled Kanaya's hand and took the girl away.

This was the second time Reino touched his hand to make Kanaya's heart pounding uncontrollably but he walked obediently following his boss's footsteps until he reached the office courtyard.

"Lake in!" reino's orders were firm.

"But, sir.." the protest is still trying to resist.

"Hurry in, Nay. I'll take you home."

Kanaya saw the firmness in Reino's sharp eyes, making him bow his head, succumbing to his orders. He got into the car feeling bad.

Kanaya is silent while Reino starts driving her car away from the office. He focuses on driving though occasionally looks at Kanaya.

"Why are you so scared to be around me? Am I scary to you?"

"That's not it, sir." replied Kanaya without continuing her sentence.

Kanaya lowered her gaze, her hands squeezing the top of her uniform. He doesn't know what to answer.

"I just feel bad sir. Afraid of people's words. I will intentionally approach my father."

Again Reino only responded with a smile.

"Well, do you really have that kind of intention?" Reino tries to lure Kanaya into expressing what is on her mind and she hopes Kanaya also feels something in her heart, as she feels now.

"Near father? Ah no sir, there is no such intention." Kanaya replied quickly to the point of making Reino's heart slightly disappointed.

*Where do I dare to approach my father? We are a different world, whispered Kanaya*.

Being this close to a Reino Rahardian was a dream for an ordinary woman like Kanaya. The kindness and attention given by Reino should he respond fairly like a superior to his subordinates only. Don't get me wrong, that's how Kanaya always reminds herself.

"Sir, in front of the store it turns right. My boarding place is at the end of that alley." Kanaya tells Reino.

Arriving in front of Kanaya's boarding house, Reino came out and opened the other side of the door. The drizzle is still down. Reino took off his suit and used it to protect the girl's head until it reached the front porch.

"Thank you, sir." said Kanaya sincerely in a nod to Reino's head.

"I'll go home first." she said.

Reino immediately stepped into the car and left. Kanaya does not move in before seeing Reino's car disappear at the end of the alley.

"Eh just got home, Nay? How'd it go till tonight?" welcome Rita to the room.

Kanaya put her bag on the mattress and grabbed a towel and toiletries.

"Wait for the rain to stop. Rits. It's a really big drop."

"So Mr. Reino called your name. I said you haven't come home. Sounds like she's worried about you." Rita said enthusiastically. He felt that Mr. Reino liked his best friend.

"Busan Pak Reino who wanted me to go home."

Rita widened her eyes.

"Seriusss???"

"Yes, Rit."

"How come??" rita asked, getting curious. He was sure there was something Kanaya had hidden from him.

"Well, what the hell, Rit. Mr. Reino is straight home."

Rita breathed an annoyed sigh.

"You have no bases. You should have let him in. Love to drink cake. I'm sorry I've been far away nganter too, time can't get anything." Rita nagged long.

"Ga ah's. That's what the mother said, men kok let in." said Kanaya looking for reasons to justify his attitude.

"Yeee, it's okay to just meet in the living room. The mother will also not be angry, unless you are afraid. Hehe."

Kanaya glares. Rita left who was still chuckling in the room. He immediately went to the bathroom because his whole body was sticky with sweat. Today is so tiring, inward Kanaya.

After bathing and changing clothes, Kanaya sat on the mattress, grabbing her phone from inside the bag.

"The theater's over." Kanaya took a charger from the nightstand near the bed.

After a while he could just turn on his phone. There were some missed calls and all those calls from Reino. Kanaya scrunched her forehead.

*So Mr Reino tried to contact me? Is he worried about me? ask heart*.

Kanaya felt guilty. That's right Rita said. He should have let Reino in for a while, just as an expression of gratitude for bringing him home.

\*I have to apologize, Kanaya said in her heart\*.

Kanaya typed a message for Reino through the chat app. Hope Reino wasn't offended by his attitude earlier.

Kanaya : Sorry, my battery ran out, so I didn't know you called😅

...............................

There's no reply. Kanaya waited while daydreaming on the bed. But what was awaited was not reciprocated.

"Rit, is Mr. Reino angry? He ain't answering my chat."

Rita turned her head, then fixed her sitting position beside Kanaya. He watched his friend's face closely.

"That's possible, Nay. Tomorrow at the office you have to apologize directly to Mr. Reino." Rita suggested to him.

"I don't dare, Rit. If I'm in the office, I might not go to his room. It's not good to know other employees." Kanaya let out a long breath.

"You pretended to clean the room. No one will suspect."

Kanaya thought for a moment. Maybe Rita was right. Cleaning the office space is included in his daily duties. This is his chance to apologize to Mr. Reino.

"OK, tomorrow I try." replied Kanaya relieved.
