Grabbing Dreams

Grabbing Dreams
Chapter 30 MEETING MOM AND DAD

Kanaya's train almost reached the destination station at dawn. The girl tightened her jacket because inside the carriage felt very cold. While preparing the bag and suitcase, Kanaya removed the phone from her charger, rolled up the charger cable and put it in the bag.

There was an announcement that the train would arrive at the destination station in five minutes.

"Alhamdulillah finally arrived" muttered Kanaya was relieved to finally set foot back in her homeland. Kanaya immediately booked the car online and waited in front of the station.

No need to wait for long, a car stopped in front of Kanaya. The driver who looked the same age as him got out of the car and helped Kanaya put her luggage into the trunk.

Along the way, Kanaya gazed out at the window, enjoying the small town atmosphere she missed so much, the hustle of the streets, the old buildings, the traditional market near the house she regularly visited every morning with her mother, all those memories were stored neatly in his heart.

"It's over, ma'am." said the driver friendly.

Kanaya paid a sum of money and got out of the car followed by the driver who quickly dropped the goods from the trunk.

"Thank you, sir."

Kanaya dragged her small suitcase into the courtyard of the house. At the door the mother waited faithfully for him. Since dawn, Kanaya's mother has been busy preparing simple dishes to welcome her daughter home. While his sisters helped the mother clean the entire house because since the father entered the hospital, the condition of the house is less well maintained.

"Mother.." exclaimed Kanaya as she rushed towards the mother. One warm hug can shed the longing that has been harbored.

"Nay miss once, ma'am."

"Come, nduk. Your father's in his room."

"Mbaaak Nay." exclaimed his two younger siblings as soon as he saw Kanaya enter the room.

"Duh, I miss you guys very much." said Kanaya kissed one by one the cheek of the sister and immediately approached the father who was sitting on the bed leaning on the head of the bed.

"How are you dad? I'm sorry that Nay can just go home now." said Kanaya, kissing the back of his hand.

"Alhamdulillah, son. Your father is still given a long life with Gusti Allah. Thanks to your prayers too."

Kanaya accompanied the father chatting while kneeling the soles of his feet. They both miss each other. Kanaya is the firstborn she always spoiled first. However, her daughter had grown into an adult female now even becoming the backbone of the family. This made the heart of the father so moved.

"How's your job in Jakarta, nduk?" mother asked as she delivered the warm sweet tea to Kanaya in the room.

"Good ma'am. Nay worked there. His salary is also huge. Sometimes you get a bonus from the office."

"Oh, huh? Thank you, son. I am grateful for the provision that God has given to my family. Especially when your dad is sick."

"Yes mom. Oh yes, Nay wants to go to Dibyo Pakde's house for friendship and thank him for his help to our family ma'am. Does he still live in that old house?"

"It looks like it's moved on. If that was his house. Mr. Dibyo is now retired. Looks like he lives with his son who works at the bank. What's her name I forgot."

"Mas Galih, ma'am?" kanaya tried to remember.

"It is true. Subterfuge. Who used to invite you to play that bike, right?"

Kanaya smiled remembering the memories of her childhood. The Kanaya family and Pakde Dibyo are very close. Although there is no blood relation, Kanaya's father and he were best friends during High School.

"Yesterday Pakde Dibyo came to visit. He even brought your father's favorite market snack, nduk. Very nice of him. Galih also comes. I'm pangling with Galih, mature now looks."

How does it look like now, Galih? Last met when we and our family were invited to the wedding of the eldest son of Dibyo 7 years ago, if not wrong.

"But Dibyo the Galih until now did not want to go to the household, ma'am. Even though age is enough, the job is also established. What are you gonna wait for? You do not understand the mind path of young people today" explained the father chimed in the conversation.

"Maybe you haven't met your soul mate yet, sir. Hehehe." replied Kanaya of origin.

The atmosphere of Kanaya's house feels warm because of her arrival. Her father, mother and sisters longed for the girl's presence. Almost six months Kanaya traveled to Jakarta alone. However, during that time, Kanaya became a strong and courageous woman. This made both of his parents proud.

...****...

Tonight, Kanaya is resting inside her room. This day he was satisfied with all his family members. His longing has paid off. However, in his heart he felt something was lacking.

What are you doing Reino? I feel like I haven't seen him all day.

Kanaya took her HP from the desk of her sister's study, then sent a message via chat.

Kanaya

..........................................................

Kanaya waited a long time but Reino never returned the message until finally he fell asleep.

Drrtt....

Kanaya shook under the pillow, making the girl startled and get up.

Reino Calling.......

"Assalamualaikum, mas." greeted Kanaya with a distinctive hoarse voice of waking up.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, baby. Did you sleep? Sorry I woke you up."

Kanaya rubbed her eyes and yawned several times.

"It's okay, man. How malem phone is mas? Did you just come home?" kanaya asked after seeing the wall clock in her room already showing the number 10.

"Yes, honey. I just got home. There was an invitation for a colleague's birthday. Actually, I'd like to take you to the show, but first you go home, baby."

"Oh yeah? Whose birthday is it?"

"Jessica's mother."

"Ooo..."

Why is it that when Reino calls a woman's name my heart is nervous?

Kanaya. He imagined Reino with Jessica. He knew very well the behavior of the woman. Of course he would not waste the chance to get close to Reino.

"Kok diem aja dear? Sleepy huh? Don't you miss me?" rajuk Reino. He was the one who missed Kanaya.

All day in the office, Reino could not concentrate on his work. Kanaya's face was always dancing in her mind. Only one day they did not meet.

"Bag,"

"Yes, honey, what's wrong?"

Kanaya fell silent again. His brain was thinking and stringing sentences so that the questions he would pose to Reino did not offend the man.

"Did Jessica approach Reino? I mean, did he do anything that interested Reino? She is a perfectly beautiful woman..."

You're jealous of Nay.

"Ehemm.seems like someone's jealous." guess Reino, smiling.

Kanaya took a deep breath trying to neutralize the tightness in her chest.

"I'm serious. Please answer my question."

"Darling, listen to me carefully. I was never interested in Jessica. If I had come to the party, it was just to honor Jessica's parents. Not more. Some of you are macem-macem mind, baby. Jealous of ye..."

"Yeah.i'm jealous. Can't you?"

"Haha. May dong dear. That's the sign, you love me so much. If you were in front of me I would hug."

"Rubby."

"Belvin. Same with my own boyfriend."

"Well, if you dare to seduce another woman!" kanaya gave an ultimatum.

"Dear, don't dare."

A smile expands on Kanaya's face. Tonight Reino's presence on the phone is enough to make the girl's heart a little calm. He also felt restless because there was no communication with Reino all day.
