Chapter 42 THE FIRST DELAYED NIGHT

"I want to rest first, sir, ma'am, because tomorrow afternoon we will return to Jakarta."

"Yes, le. Rest up. You must be tired." said Kanaya's mother assented.

At 11 pm Reino just entered the room. He chatted with Kanaya's father and mother in the living room until he forgot the time. They are engrossed in recounting the childhood to the teenage years of Kanaya in this village. Reino seemed happy and enthusiastic to hear it. Whatever it was about the girl attracted him.

Reino walked slowly closer to the bed and found Kanaya sleeping behind him. His wife's body was wrapped in a blanket to cover her neck.

"Darling.." he called slowly, afraid to surprise his wife.

Kanaya who had not fully fallen asleep felt a movement behind her. Reino approached and slept clinging to Kanaya's back. The man wrapped his hands around Kanaya's stomach, making the girl's heart seem to want to jump out.

This was the first time Kanaya's body came into contact with a male intimately. Kanaya felt her body tremble as their bodies stuck together without any distance.

"Darling.." repeated Reino once more but this time Kanaya could feel Reino's warm breath on her nape. His hands hugged Kanaya tightly from behind.

"Are you asleep, baby?"

"Come, baby. I miss you." said Reino while pulling his wife's body to face her.

Kanaya nodded. Reino's eyes still trace every corner of Kanaya's face to make the wife's face red.

A gentle kiss on the forehead slowly descends to the neck. Kanaya felt a tingle in her ears as Reino slowly kissed her neck.

"Yes..."

"What a pity.." replied Reino without stopping his activity exploring the wife's neck with gentle kisses.

Kanaya closed her eyes. His body trembled enjoying the sensation that each Reino caused gently touched a part of his body.

"I am ashamed." said Kanaya, burying her head in the chest of her husband.

Reino chuckles. Kanaya hugged him even tighter.

"All right, sweetheart. I won't understand if you're not ready."

Reino kissed the top of his wife's head in affection. He understood that Kanaya was not ready to give herself up completely.

"I'm sorry, ma'am."

"Yes, honey. Okay, let's go to bed. Tomorrow we have to go back to Jakarta."

Kanaya nodded. The two of them hugged each other until they finally fell into a deep sleep.

Kanaya woke. He saw a wall clock in the room. At 4 a.m. He realized Reino was not there.

Where are Reino's?

After tidying up the bed, Kanaya walked out of the room towards the bathroom.

"Eh, mom. Yes, Reino is not in the room."

"He went to mushollah with your father."

"Oh yeah? Nay didn't know Reino woke up."

"When I woke up at 3, your husband was in the living room. So the same father invited all subuhan."

"He won't bring a change of clothes, ma'am."

The mother smiled.

Kanaya immediately took a shower and prayed at dawn. After that, she made coffee for her husband who soon returned from praying in the prayer hall.

"What time are you home, nduk?" ask the mother while cooking in the kitchen.

Kanaya arranged the fried banana her mother made onto the plate. He also added some market snacks that he bought from a vegetable maker who passed in front of the house every dawn.

"No, they're home. Hurry up and take this coffee and cake forward, nduk."

With a happy feeling Kanaya serves coffee and cake for her father and husband on the front porch. The two men were busy talking about the lecture of an ustadz they had just heard in mushollah.

"The coffee is sir, mas Reino." haggled Kanaya while arranging glasses and cake plates on the table.

Reino glanced at his wife at a glance then glanced one eye at her.

Kanaya held back a smile. Reino was so good at making himself blush in embarrassment. No matter if there is a father there.

"Sit down, nduk."

"Yes sir, what's wrong?" kanaya asked as she sat on the chair beside Reino.

"The father had a long conversation with your husband and he said you don't want to tell anyone about your marriage any time soon before inaugurating your marriage in KUA, is that right?"

Reino laughed happily.

Kanaya goes inside, leaving her husband alone on the porch.
