Chapter 8 The Waves of Chaos: The Kingdom of Albion
King Albion instantly formed a special warrior unit to defend the walls of the capital. Prince Erick and Enell immediately led the two main forces that were directed to the front of the capital's gate. The witches prepared on the wall to use their magic.
Eva is assigned to look after Diana and Evan. But of course he doesn't want to. So he ignored his father's orders and came forward to the front formation. Diana and Evan will be taken care of by her grandfather, King Albion, along with the others in a shelter. There were several magicians and magic warriors surrounding that shelter.
It just so happened that Ren was there. So Ren followed Eva to observe the situation. They could see from afar that a swarm of magical beasts were charging towards them.
"What's really going on? This is so strange" Ren murmured. He had never seen such a situation during his lifetime. Sometimes magical beasts would invade. But they don't storm with thousands of groups like this. Their body shape is also strange. They had mutations as if they were eating doping drugs.
Eva thinks. It must have something to do with that guy. And his expression became more serious.
"What's wrong with you?" ask Ren.
"Do you believe in gods?" Eva asked back.
"Why should I trust them?" replied Ren indifferently.
"Then I won't tell you anything" he said.
Ren pouted. "So you're keeping something from me?" he asked with glaring eyes. "I'll punish you later" he said.
Hearing the word "punishment", Eva's face immediately flushed red. These few years Ren often teases and annoys him. Then when he did the wrong thing, the man suddenly hit his ass. He really made his pride fall. He's not a kid to be punished with a butt beating!
"All right, I'll tell you everything. But don't say 'i don't believe'. Or I'll bite you. Just shut up if you don't believe. Because it sucks when you say when I've told you everything" Eva said.
Ren just smiled a little.
Eva began to tell about the conflict of the gods that occurred in her dream. He does not tell Ren that he is talking to the cat god and the cat wants him to kill the other gods. He only told me that as his dream. Then the god came down to the world to destroy all living creatures because of his vengeance and he wanted to collect souls in order to get his divine body back. The god came down and disguised as the strongest light magician now.
"The strongest light magician? That guy?" Ren recalled Reinell who fought with him. A pretentious man of justice who always babbles during battles.
"I don't think it's him" Eva replied directly. "He is still weak. He can't even beat you"
"of course. I'm the strongest in the whole world" Ren's response was confident.
"Humph!" Eva snorted annoyedly at that stupid confidence. Then, he immediately left Ren behind to focus on the horde of magical beasts that attacked them. Ren chased after her while whistling a little.
The swarm of magical beasts almost reached the gates of the capital. The pounding of the animal's legs even made small quakes heard throughout the capital. Making children cry because of fear. Then the mother calmed them down.
Erick and Enell formed two groups of soldiers who were defending in front of the capital's gates. Everyone used a shield-shaped magic tool, then started to push the swarm of beasts and stab them with their magic spears.
The witches who were on top of the wall started to conduct long-range attacks towards the horde of beasts. And some magicians used high-level magic to sweep away the beasts. But the animals keep coming. It was as if they were an endless swarm of ants.
Because they have mutations, they are also difficult to kill. It caused a lot of casualties from the soldiers who were on the front lines.
SWOSH! Eva and Ren come to assist in the air raid. Because of their arrival, the situation turned around. One strike from the two of them killed dozens of those magic beasts. The fight finished faster. The top had already been cleared so the two of them headed downstairs to help. The witches from Albion looked at the backs of the two people with admiring gazes. And they were so proud that Eva was Albion's daughter. Since his arrival the kingdom of Albion has really become very famous.
"They are easy to kill. But their numbers are very large" Ren said.
Eva nodded.
"Even if we could finish them off one by one, it would waste a lot of time and effort. Everyone will be exhausted"
"You're right" Eva nodded in agreement.
"So what do you think?" Ren asked while looking at her with a mysterious look.
"You're planning something?" Eva asked back.
Ren smirked. He advanced first. "Magic circle" he said. "Let's make a magic circle and destroy them"
"Huh? How's it?" Eva doesn't understand. Below them was a battlefield. They did not even have time to draw a magic circle on the ground.
Ren approached and whispered something to Eva. Eva's eyes widened in shock upon hearing his plan. Ren wanted to draw a magic circle above the sky. What the fuck? Ren said he knew a magic that could destroy them all and he would draw a circle of sihur above the sky. Then he told Eva to tell the humans to retreat as she started to activate her magic.
"You understand your duty, don't you?" said Ren later.
Eva nodded. "Let's get this over with quickly."
"of course. We also need to continue our research. This situation is really disturbing" Ren grumbled.
Ren started drawing magic circles that surrounded the battleground with mana. While Eva went downstairs to organize the soldiers.
"Ren will activate the magic circle. Retreating now on cue" Eva used her magic to make her voice thunder all over the place. Everyone's attention was distracted. And everyone started to back off.
"Retreat!" The Duke commanded his entire army.
Ren finished with his magic circle. He activated it then a luminous magic circle enveloped the entire battlefield. Then slowly the magic circle moved down.
Some people did not manage to escape as the magic beasts continued to chase after them. So Eva used her wind magic and threw those people backwards forcibly. They screamed in shock as a mysterious wind blew them backwards. Then they fell down with faces full of dust and bruises all over their bodies. Eva feels alone, but at least it's better than having to die under Ren's magic.
The magic circle continued to descend down very quickly and ensnared all the magic beasts that were beneath it. The ensnared beasts could not move. Then that web-like magic circle started to turn into a flame tongue and burn the entire magic beast.
The process of destruction proceeds quickly. All the animals began to melt and become ashes. A burning smell spread throughout the capital, but the magic did not burn the surrounding forest. So some people feel relieved.
Only a dozen magical beasts were left there. Eva killed the rest easily using her flying dagger. The war in the Kingdom of Albion was over.
