Chapter 6 Poison
Previous story:
Ren manages to find Eva and takes the girl back to her room. When Eva returns, Diana welcomes her with a face of wrath. Then Diana scolded and made Eva grow scared. Eva apologized for her mistake. Fortunately, Diana forgave him.
Afterwards Ren tells them that he will meet them with Emerta when the dinner is over. So they have to wait until dinner is over.
Eva spends her time reading books. Diana fell asleep from exhaustion. Evan also suddenly wakes up and accompanies Eva to read a book.

A few moments later, Diana woke up. She is very shocked after seeing Evan wake up and start giving him milk.
"He wasn't crying, was he?" Diana asked worriedly. Diana was afraid that Evan's cries would bother her around.

I didn't expect the food to be delivered into the room. But this is better. I thought that we should eat at the dinner table with strangers I didn't know. But it didn't happen.
I opened my eyes to see the food being served. Menu ordinary. There are steaks, fruits, bread and some sweet desserts. Standard menu served in noble houses.
Did Ren cook it himself? I immediately shook my head to shake that stupid thought. Because it's impossible! His status is a king here. So he couldn't cook.
I also did not expect that there was a meat menu. According to the book, elves are vegetarians who do not eat meat. But perhaps all of them were excluded because this was the dark elf race. Because the dark elf race had indeed always strayed from the other elf races.
"Mother, don't eat?" I invited Diana to eat together.
"First, you'll catch up" Diana replied. That woman's busy changing baby diapers right now.

Ren received his report. He was silent for a moment before answering "I'll be there"
It only took a few seconds for Ren to arrive and break down the room door to enter.
"Rin! Ren! There's poison in his food. Eva ate that food before. Why is it like this?" Diana got up and asked Ren in a panic.
"You okay?" Ren was anxious after hearing Diana's words. Eva doesn't say that she's been poisoned and Ren is very worried.
"It's okay. I've handled the poison with magic" I replied. No more pain in my stomach. Everything's fine now.
Ren sighed in relief after hearing his reply. "Who would dare to do something like this in my palace?" Ren's face turned ugly. He's really angry right now. He never thought anyone would dare to poison his guests. And moreover the culprit was still inside this palace.
Ren called the elf waiter who had brought dinner. Then he also told Drian to gather kitchen staff and chefs. Everyone who was summoned was standing neatly in the hallway, in front of Eva and Diana's room. They bow their heads in fear.

"Chief chef!"

"You cooked the food. Did you add foreign spices?"
The head chef immediately knelt down and stomped his head to the floor. "I don't know anything Your Majesty. I cook food for everyone. The menu is the same and I swear I didn't add anything. Then I asked the staff to share the food. Some were delivered to Miss Lena's room, some to the guests and some to Her Majesty's dinner. I dare not do anything strange. I swear!" the head chef said solemnly.
Ren opened the poisoned food. The menu looks like dinner. There was no poison in his food. This poison is only present in Eva's food. Means the head chef really doesn't know anything here.
Ren cut and bit the poisonous steak all of a sudden.
"Your Majesty..." Drian immediately gasped worriedly.
But Ren ignored her and continued chewing. As the meat entered his stomach, Ren frowned. "It's not a special poison. This poison could easily be obtained at the elf market" Ren commented. There were no symptoms of vomiting blood on him. Because he had already absorbed the poison with his dark mana.

"Man is disgusting. I hate them" The female elf replied as she showed her teeth. He had no intention of saying anything.
Ren doesn't want to waste time. He used his magic and the woman's body vanished into ashes. The woman did not even have time to scream. And his ashes were already lost to the wind.
Ren then asks everyone back to their respective duties, including Drian.
"I'm sorry. I really didn't think anyone would do something like that" Ren said in frustration.

I don't know why Ren's heart hurt a little when he heard Eva's words. Eva said it was as if her palace was a dangerous place. And he, who served as King, was completely useless. Because it cannot eliminate all the danger.
