Chapter 6 The Strange Black Paper

Eva and Ren go to the dark elf village to make a transaction with them. The transaction worked. They could exchange the cleaning robot for some magic crystals.
But the negotiations did not go too peacefully. Elf king Vien suddenly asks Eva to be his queen. All because he knew that Eva had extremely powerful light magic. Of course Eva refused her so there was a bit of conflict. But for the right reasons, the feud ended peacefully and they agreed to forget the dispute.

I thought about when it was the right time to return. Maybe tomorrow is the right time. But I still need to say goodbye to Emerta. So I guess I'll stay for another day or two.
At nightfall, I went to see Emerta in her lab. He was serious about his research. I was very curious, so I sneaked in secretly to see what he was doing. Seriously, Emerta didn't even realize I was here.
I saw him make a strange green liquid. I don't understand what the benefits of that strange liquid are.
"You here?" Emerta finally realized my existence.
Even though I looked at her research secretly, she was not angry at all. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" he immediately left his research and carried me.
It's actually quite embarrassing to be carried like this because I'm no longer a child. But I can't rebel at all.
"Yes. I want to surprise you. But it turned out that grandma was too serious, so I didn't dare to bother" I said shyly.
Emerta smiles. He put the little girl on the chair and stroked her head. Eva closed her eyes comfortably as she got a soft rub in her head.
"You should have told me if you wanted to come visit so I would have prepared some snacks beforehand" Emerta said.
"Um.I'm fine if there's no snack." I said seriously. Then I started to shift the subject. "What is a green banquet, grandma?" I asked innocently. Although I'm sure Emerta won't tell me the right answer. Actually I was quite curious about the research Emerta did to have to spend years. But I don't intend to investigate it any further.
"It's medicine" Emerta replied.
"Medicine?"
"Yes. Medicine to restore something that was lost" he replied with a sad smile.
I don't understand at all. Emerta's answer was completely ambiguous, but I didn't ask any further. And just nodded slowly as if I understood.
"Actually I want to say goodbye, I'll be home soon." I said softly.
Emerta's face immediately turned sad. But it was only a second before he smiled gently. "Send my regards to Diana, when you get back. I'll visit you later" he said.

Emerta took something out of his dimension. It was a small wooden box. Then he gave me the little box. "Take it. This is a gift for you" Emerta said with a smile.
My eyes immediately sparkled as I took it. This is from grandma! I really wonder what kind of stuff he would give me. But I'll hold back that curiosity until I get back to my room and open the coffin.
"Thank you grandma" I kept the little crate in my desk.
Emerta and I continued our conversation. This was just a casual conversation between her grandmother and granddaughter. Although Emerta's appearance is not at all like a grandmother. Outsiders will consider them mother and son.
Time passes so fast. Emerta reminded me that it was midnight. I wasn't even aware. So I decided to say goodbye to him and went back to my room.
I've decided to come back tomorrow afternoon. Seeing that I have nothing left in this place.
When I returned to my room, I saw Rexus lying comfortably on top of my bed. So this little slacker is back? After getting tired of playing with Fram, he actually chose the most comfortable place to rest.
"Are you satisfied playing?" I directly stroked it.
Rexus instantly opened his closed eyes and twisted his body comfortably.
"No. I'm starving" he said lazily.
"I gave you a lot of potions yesterday. Are you really still hungry?" I said pout.
I just bought a lot of potions while walking around in the dark elf village. I didn't expect him to go hungry after spending it all. I thought he'd still be around for a week. Damian wants to see me tomorrow. This is an unexpected event. Looks like I'm gonna have to step back when I get home.
After Rexus went back to sleep, I also immediately put myself on the bed. Don't forget I opened the strange chest Emerta gave me.
"What's this?" I blinked confused while looking at the contents. There was only a black piece of paper inside.
I took out the paper to feel it more clearly. The paper was thick as a cover paper, but I had no idea what it was for. Emerta didn't explain anything to me.
With a trial and error instinct, I flowed the dark mana onto the paper. And something strange happened. The surface of the paper began to glow and blink. Then Emerta's moving face appeared on it.
"Aah!" I was shocked. Fortunately, Rexus did not wake up.

Emerta who was in the paper started to make a sound.
"Eva, if you've activated the magic paper. I will explain the instructions for using this paper to you" Emerta explained.
"This is one of my inventions. But I got an idea about this magic paper from Ren. He inspires me with all his unique thoughts" Emerta continued.
Emerta began to explain that this paper was used as a tracking device. I just have to spread my dark mana somewhere, then I can see the scene of the place I want to detect from this paper. The effectiveness of this Magic paper depends on how wide you are, then the wider the area detected. But before that I need to tie a contract with my blood, for this paper to recognize my mana and not be used by anyone else.
After he finished explaining, Emerta's video came to a halt and the paper returned to normal black paper.
I got up and quickly dripped a drop of blood on the paper. I really want to try this magic tool right now!
After that, I immediately circulated my mana throughout this palace. The screen starts automatically. I can see the entire elf palace from above. It really works like a drone camera!
I became drooling at the thought that I could sell a tool like this. How much money can I collect? But then my hope was dashed when I realized that this paper only works with dark mana, not anything else.
"It's a pity.." I wailed sadly. But I immediately wiped all that sadness. And started fiddling with her magic paper. I tried to set the camera. And of course it moves as I wish! When I wanted to see the left side, the paper directly monitored the left side of the palace. As I wanted to take a closer look at the gate, the automatic zoom display was immediately in front of my eyes.

Until I finally found something unexpected as I monitored the area around my room. There were two black-clothed people hiding outside the window of my room.
Reflex, I threw the paper and put up a magic protector. The time was right, my bedroom window opened and two magic blade blades were thrown at me. It was fortunate that the shield was multi-layered, so even if it broke, it still protected me.

The blade struck the shield and made a considerable sound. Rexus even woke up from his sleep.
I don't know who sent these two. Aren't they murderers? But there really are assassins sneaking into the elf palace? Doesn't that make a lot of sense? Ren is still here, there's no way that any foreign killer could have snuck in.
The killer threw a strange black potion at me. And suddenly a black fog appeared and filled the entire room.

I don't feel any trace and air of their killer at all. It was as if they were just air. If I hadn't seen them before, I might have been stabbed.
Ren looked towards the assassins and removed their masks.
"Aah!" I was shocked. They're not human! Except the dark elves! Ren doesn't realize they're murderers.
"Do these elves hate me so much." I said sadly. I know dark elves hate humans so much. Even the previous elf maids also gave us poison. Now attempted murder. They really told me to leave this palace as soon as possible.
Ren looked at the two elf corpses with an uncomfortable expression. She seemed to know something important but she hid it from Eva.
Ren immediately burned the two corpses to ashes. Then he looked at Eva. "Don't worry. I'll find the culprit" Ren said seriously.
"Um" I nodded. I'll be leaving the palace any minute anyway, so I don't really care about this murder incident.
"Good night. Have a good sleep. I've put up a barrier in your room. No one will dare to approach because I will immediately detect them and destroy them" Ren said.

Ren immediately exited Eva's room. As he was about to close the door of the room, his forehead wrinkled in confusion. Ren recognized the two assassins.
