Chapter 7: The Conversion

One of the purple robes pierced the king because of the Marquis' orders. Then the king's men began to arrive. The great general wanted to save the King but it was too late. The king is dead. The Marquis went on a show and tried to accuse Sayn and Diana of murder. Everyone believed him, of course. Although Sayn tried to give an explanation, no one would believe her. The marquis also pitted the great general's sheep to kill the baby in his hand. The great general was instigated and wanted to do his thing. But Denis came suddenly and took the baby.

Denis drove Vivian and the waitress to the royal clinic. At that moment the servant came to his senses and told him everything that had happened. That Vivian was intending to take them away. But the Marquis knew that and attacked them. Then the Marquis injures Miss Vivian and takes Evan with him. Wiya was also made unconscious, so she had no idea what happened after that.
Denis told the waiter to rest and he'd take care of everything. Then he rushed to meet his father and the others in the dungeon. When he arrived, the room was filled with humans. He didn't know what was going on, but he felt very uncomfortable. He also saw the great General pointed his sword towards the baby held by the marquis. So Denis quickly stopped and took the baby.
But he saw a familiar figure lying on the ground with a stomach covered in blood. Refelks, killing auras came out from his body.
"What's going on?" he said in a very cold tone. And he tried to keep his composure from going berserk.
No one answered. The atmosphere is very quiet.

only Denis' footsteps were heard as the man slowly approached his father.
Denis' body trembled but he tried to control his composure.
Then he took the potion and drank it into the King's mouth. But there was no reaction.
Denis never considered King the best father of his life. But the old man was his father. He raised her since she was a child and educated her. After all, he was a valuable person in his life. Denis wanted to cry. But her pride held her back from crying.
"It is too late, your majesty" said the great general in a sad tone. "When I got there it was too late." the burly man almost cried.
Denis clenched his hand. The aura of killing him was getting bigger.
"Who did it?"
No one answered.
"Who ?!" Denis raised his voice.
"Your highness, it was the intruders and the dark mages who did it" Marquis Zent opened his voice while pointing forward.
Denis turned his head and looked at them all with a murderous look. He looked at Sayn more intensely than the others. He suspects that Sayn killed his father because this was beneficial to the Kano kingdom. Considering they are on the enemy's side.
Denis is fighting a war. This time he was determined to kill Sayn. She regrets letting Sayn go free and endanger those closest to her. He really regretted it!
Denis slashed his sword at Sayn. Sayn resisted his attack. Sayn was trying to protect Diana and her people with her body. Caused his body to bounce back from receiving Denis's attack. But he wasn't hurt.
Seeing what happened Diana panicked and threw her body in the middle of the fight.
"He is innocent. I killed the King!" diana said suddenly.
"Hey..." Sayn gawked in disbelief. She wanted to say something but Diana cut her off.
"It's my fault. I killed the King. They have absolutely nothing to do with this. They just came to my rescue" Diana said sternly, trying not to cry.
Diana surrendered. All this happened because of him. Everything was. He's jeopardizing his family. He's endangering everyone who's helping him. He was the culprit. Diana gave up on defending herself now. Even though he knew that he did not kill the King. He would acknowledge himself in order to make everyone involved free. Diana had strengthened her resolve.
Denis looked at Diana with a look of disbelief. The Duke is the king's brother-in-law. And this woman almost became her mother-in-law. She did not expect Diana to kill her own father.
"Don't protect her" Denis said. He still insisted that Sayn did it.
"I'm not protecting anyone. I just admit my mistake. It all happened because of me who is noble" Diana said. His condition had already recovered due to the potion given by Sayn. So his voice became louder.
"Why did you do it?" Denis asked. There was a sad tone in his voice. He thought of various ways to be able to free all of the Duke family. But it was all a wasted thought. This woman was an evil demon from the beginning who disguised herself as a good mother and wife.
"..." - ".Diana did not answer and bit her lips.
"Your majesty, I'm sorry" Diana knelt down and touched her head to the floor. "I beg of you. All's fault. So free everyone. It doesn't make sense, but my husband and my baby really don't know anything. And those black robes just want to help me because of my daughter's wishes. I beg of you. Release all these innocent people. I will accept my punishment" Diana sobbed.
Diana just wanted all these uninvolved people to be free. She was very happy when she found out that her husband and the others had already died in the palace. Now she just wants the baby to survive.
Denis did not answer.
"I will accept my punishment. I'll take it" Diana added. "But Evan and the others are innocent. Your Majesty forgive them"
Denis dazed. He looked at the unconscious little baby in his hand. The baby is innocent. But he still couldn't let Sayn escape.
"Your majesty, I beg you" Diana buried her head deeply. His forehead was bleeding because of that.
"All right." said Denis. He felt sorry to see Diana. He had known the woman since she was young. She still remembered her genuine smile even though she knew that it was a fake. But she would never forgive what Diana had already done. Like being a spy and killing the King. His death sentence was completely unavoidable.
Denis gave the baby to Diana. He approved the exchange and released Duke and Evan. He won't chase the Duke again even if he finds out the man has already escaped.
Diana greeted Evan gently and gave it to Sayn. Diana whispered something to Sayn and told them to run away.
Sayn looked at Diana sadly. "I won't give up on helping you" Sayn said. He will come back and bring more people. Then he looked at Denis like he was staring at a fool. "You'll regret everything, you fool!" said sarcasm. Before disappearing on the spot with her teleportation magic.
Denis doesn't understand. He had everyone give Diana close supervision. The death penalty will be carried out tomorrow, publicly. He also had to take care of the King's funeral.
The marquis looked at Denis with an annoyed look. He wants everyone killed. But his plan failed because Denis forgave everyone. He's really upset.
"Basic intruder!" The marquis cursed in his heart when he saw Denis passing in front of his eyes.
