Since You Married Me

Since You Married Me
A Moment to Escape

Zaya stared at the roll of waves before her with a distant look. Let the sea breeze blow his long hair until sometimes it covers half of his face. Sometimes Zaya's fingers pin her hair back to the back of her ears, then re-degrees because it is blown by the wind again.

I don't know how long Zaya's been doing the same thing since. To be sure, someone who was next to him at this time had started to get anxious to see Zaya who was still at home with her silence.

Yep. Currently Zaya is in one of the beautiful beaches on the island of Bali.

An offer of cooperation from one of his business partners to open a cafe branch in this place, making Zaya escape for a moment from the problems he was facing.

Without telling Aaron. Without telling Kara. He left alone with all the burdens that made him barely close his eyes.

One thing to admire about Zaya is that the more depressed she gets over a problem, the more serious she gets to work. It seems that working harder becomes a separate comfort for Zaya so as not to get too bad with the problem. You could say it was his escape.

Zaya has now successfully reached a cooperation agreement. In the near future the cafe will open a branch in a place famous for Kuta Beach and Tanah Lotnya.

And unexpectedly by Zaya, in the midst of her turmoil, she even met a figure who had not long ago left her.

Evan.

It turned out that the man still had a little job in Bali and still had to settle there before finally returning to Singapore.

Since learning that Zaya has returned with Aaron and plans to remarry, Evan has decided to return to where his adoptive parents live. But now he meets Zaya who appears to be in a not-so-good state.

Evan wonders, did something bad happen until Zaya's wedding was not held? If everything is fine, then why does Zaya seem really sad at the moment?

For two hours he stood looking at the ocean without making a sound.

"You look like someone who ran away, Dee. Wh why? Will your wedding be soon?" Evan could not bear to ask. Zaya has not yet shown any signs of opening her voice.

Zaya. Then he sat himself next to Evan. The look of his sad face, makes Evan more sure if there are serious problems that are facing Zaya.

Zaya took a long breath. He tried to smile at Evan.

"The problems at Aaron's company are not yet resolved, brother. He's threatened to lose ownership of his company if he keeps insisting on marrying me. I'm not sure I'm going to go ahead. It doesn't feel worth it if he's gonna lose Brylee Group just for me." Zaya finally opened her voice.

Evan's stunned. It turned out to be true if Zaya was currently facing something that was not simple.

"Then? How's Aaron himself?" Ask Evan later.

Zaya was silent for a moment.

"It seems that she remains adamant about continuing our marriage." Answer Zaya.

Now changed Evan who sighed.

"If Aaron has made his decision without hesitation, why should you run away like this, Dee. You two should be together to strengthen each other. Isn't that what couples who love each other do?"

Zaya was silent and unable to answer. It's true what Evan said if he was supposed to be next to Aaron at the moment. But Zaya is too afraid of the fact that Aaron will lose something he has been fighting for just for her sake.

Zaya could not imagine how much guilt she would feel if Aaron lost his current position in order to stay with her. Zaya would definitely not be able to forgive herself for that.

"How could he lose his company just for the sake of marrying me? There's been so much that Aaron sacrificed for the company. Starting from his childhood and his own dreams. Aaron's been fighting for his position now day and night. How could I make his fight end in vain?"

"Say, Brother... I have to what...?" Zaya covered her face with both palms. The water is unstoppable anymore. He was faced with a difficult choice between having to endure or not.

Evan looked at Zaya with sadness.

But seeing Zaya who looked very desperate, Evan actually felt sad. Evan realizes now, the most important thing for him is Zaya's happiness, no matter who he gets it with. Evan could not bear to see it sad as it is today.

"Have you talked to Aaron about possible solutions to your problems?" Ask Evan later.

Zaya shakes. From the day he heard all that, Zaya did avoid Aaron and made no attempt to talk about him. Maybe he was too cowardly because he did not dare to face the reality. And even run away like this.

But that's all Zaya did because she didn't know what else to do.

"You shouldn't be like this, Dee. If you love Aaron, then you have to trust him too. A person like him cannot decide without a consideration. If he prefers you over his own company, that means you are more important to him than the company. You should be happy, right?" Evan tries to make Zaya think more sensibly.

"But what if I make what Aaron's been doing all this time go to waste?" Ask Zaya again.

Evan smiled as he rubbed Zaya's head.

"There's nothing in vain if it's done for our loved ones, Dee. Right now you just need to know what your heart wants. Do you want to stay with Aaron?"

Zaya was silent and seemed to think.

"I love him, Brother. I can't afford to part with her again..." Lirih Zaya finally.

Evan smiled again, even though this time there was that bitterness of his smile. He had expected what kind of sentence he would hear from Zaya. There was no room for her in Zaya's heart. Evan must accept that fact.

"Then now calm your mind first, then meet your future husband. You need to talk about the solution." Evan finally said.

Zaya nodded obediently.

"Rest first. I will also return to my hotel. I hope you don't run away after this, Dee." Evan said again while looking at Zaya.

Zaya lifted her face and looked towards Evan.

"Thank you, Brother. You can always make me better."

"I'll go in and rest." Zaya says goodbye to Evan.

Evan nodded. Then his hand signaled for Zaya to enter immediately.

Zaya obeyed him. He hurried to one of the inns located on the beach he had rented. Not far from where they were talking.

Evan was still in his original place while looking at Zaya who was walking back to his inn. Then after he saw Zaya had entered, Evan got up from his seat.

Evan pulled out his phone and called someone. He seems to be talking very seriously. Then after finishing, Evan was also seen typing something on his phone, then sent it to someone as well.

Evan looked at the inn that Zaya had rented for a while, then stepped his foot away from there.

'This is all I can do for you, Dee. I hope after this you will always be happy. May the man you choose truly love you...'
