Zaya and Evan sit opposite each other in the guest room of Zaya's house. They both looked down and did not open the conversation for a long time.
A while later Evan raised his face and looked at Zaya grudgingly. His eyes were then fixed on the ring that was coiled on Zaya's ring finger.
Evan sighed and cast a look in the other direction. His chest rumbled so violently, that it made him unable to speak any more.
"Sister Evan..." Zaya tried to start talking.
Evan still looked the other way with eyes that had begun to glaze over. It seemed like he was trying as hard as possible not to shed his tears. He didn't want to be a whiny man before Zaya, although it was undeniable that his heart was completely broken at this moment.
"So you've decided to go back with him, Dee? You guys gonna get remarried?" Evan finally opened his voice while still staring in the other direction. He still could not see Zaya's face.
Zaya did not answer.
"I'm sorry, brother. From the beginning I've said that I can't accept Brother." Zaya finally said.
Evan finally turned his head and looked towards Zaya.
"You didn't give me a chance, but you could give him a second chance. You're not fair to me, Dee." Evan said again with sadness. His voice was somewhat trembling as it held something turbulent within him.
Evan's body also started to tremble. Zaya's sweet words to Aaron that she heard earlier were frustrating.
"Am I really bad in your eyes, Dee? Am I not worthy of standing with you? I'm not as good as Aaron, but you know I love you very much. Why don't you give me a little chance?" Evan asked again in a frustrated tone.
Zaya could only shake her head.
"No, Brother. It's not like that. My brother is the best man I have ever known. For me, Brother will forever be my guardian angel. I accepted Aaron back with a lot of consideration. One of them is because of Albern. Not that because Big Brother isn't better."
"Please don't be sad like this, brother. I love you very much, but of course as my brother. My brother will forever be a special person in my heart."
Zaya said quietly and sadly. To be honest, he couldn't break Evan's heart like this. But of course Zaya can't give Evan false hope. Zaya wants Evan to realize that Zaya can't be with her.
Evan deserves a better woman. A sincere woman loves him. And the woman is not Zaya.
"I could love Albern like his own father. I'm not going to separate you from him, Dee. If you give me a chance, I will do anything to make you happy. I expected you for twenty-two more years. During that time, you were the only one in my heart. I could never look at another woman but you. But you didn't even consider me one bit. It's too cruel, Dee."
Zaya. It was so sad to hear Evan. Clearly implied a deep pain in every word he said.
Zaya looked at the man in front of her. He could feel what kind of pain Evan was in right now. Suffering from unrequited one-sided love, Zaya understands that more than anyone, because she has experienced it first.
Zaya never thought that he would be the one to hurt. And the person he hurt was the one who always protected him when he was little.
Oh God. Zaya's chest suddenly became congested because of it. The tears go without feeling.
"I'm sorry, brother. I didn't mean to hurt Brother. If only we had met again before I entered Aaron's life, I might have been with Brother by now. But fate brings us to the end. I'm not the old me anymore. I already have a son who wants me back to his father. And I gave my heart to Aaron, long before we met again. I can't change it anymore, brother. Sorry..."
Zaya's tears fell even more profusely as she said the contents of her heart. It was a difficult choice between telling the truth that directly hurt Evan at this time, or lying to Evan that would hurt Evan later on. Both of them hurt Evan, and that was the only option Zaya had right now.
Zaya chooses to be honest, even though it clearly leaves Evan devastated. Zaya believes after this Evan is able to rise and forget himself. Evan will find his happiness someday.
Evan's still not flinching. His face looks more and more bitter.
"I love you, Dee..." Rumbled.
"Can't you be with me? Even if you don't have feelings for me, it doesn't matter. I'll wait for you." Pinta Evan again in a desperate tone.
Zaya was getting saddened to hear that. He does not want Evan to dissolve too long in empty expectations.
"But I love Aaron, brother." Answer Zaya.
Evan raised his face and looked towards Zaya. He slowly got up from his seat and approached Zaya.
Evan got closer, until finally he made Zaya who was confused into his cage.
Zaya knitted her two eyebrows together. It seems like Evan is starting to get out of control. Zaya was confused as to what to do.
"Do you like being around Aaron?" Evan asked suddenly.
Zaya was confused.
"I can do it too. I can spoil you. As long as you're with me, I'll do anything for you."
Evan drew his face closer to Zaya's.
"Sister Evan..." Zaya rounded her eyes in disbelief. He really didn't expect Evan to do something like that.
Just as Evan was about to kiss her, Zaya turned the other way while covering her face with both palms.
Evan gasp.
The ring embedded in Zaya's ring finger made him freeze instantly.
Evan gets up and releases Zaya from her enclosure.
"Aarrrrgghhhh!!!"
Evan yells in frustration while punching the wall of Zaya's house, until her handbooks bleed freshly. The tears finally fell on her cheeks.
Evan was very pitiful. The man was crying with a feeling of defeat that rained down on every corner of his heart.
"Sister Evan..." Zaya was crying. It was painful to see the figure of her guardian angel become like this
Then after being able to control himself again, Evan went back to Zaya. This time he set a distance that was not too close to Zaya. His red eyes looked at Zaya with a gaze capable of******-******* Zaya's heart.
"Are you sure Aaron can make you happy?" Ask Evan later.
Zaya was stunned for a while. Then he nodded with confidence.
"Even now Aaron has made me so happy." Answer Zaya honestly.
Evan smiled with irony. Then silent for a long time, he rose from his original position.
"All right..." Evan muttered.
"Blessed, Dee. I'm sorry if I scared you."
Evan turned his back to Zaya.
"Goodbye...."
Evan stepped away from Zaya without looking back. His tears fell back with a rush. Let's just say he's a weak man who cries because of a woman.
No one understands that Zaya is not just a woman who is liked by Evan. Zaya is part of Evan's breath, heart rate and pulse. Losing that woman was like losing half of his life to Evan. And Evan has tried his hardest to find half his life.
Now that they are reunited, Evan is forced to give up half his life for another man. Is there anything more painful than that?
Evan lost. He had no choice but to leave. He left with a deep wound.
