Evan was still lowered and silent, While Zaya also seemed unwilling to open her voice. They're silent. It had been almost ten minutes that Evan and Zaya had dissolved in their respective minds. I don't know what they're thinking. Clearly, none of their facial expressions looked good.
"Tell me about your life all along, Dee." Evan finally spoke first.
Zaya. He did not answer directly.
"Which part of the story do you want to hear?" ask Zaya later.
Evan was silent for a moment.
"Everything." he answered.
"Looks like there's a lot I've missed. I want to hear everything now. I want to know how you lived your life after I left." added Evan again.
Yep. Evan realized, because too happy to have managed to find Zaya, he forgot to find out how Zaya's life before. He felt like everything looked fine.
And Zaya's confession was like slapping him. Zaya's words make Evan realize that Zaya must have faced many difficulties during her departure. His life must not have been easy.
Evan wants to know everything. He didn't want to miss a single thing about Zaya anymore. Evan wants to know how big his mistake was for leaving Zaya too long, then he wants to make up for all his mistakes. He wanted to replace every suffering Zaya had with happiness. That's determination.
Zaya sighed and thought about where to start. He fell silent and put words in his mind. And after a while, Zaya finally started to open her voice.
Zaya told me all about him. Starting from his childhood which became difficult and sad after the departure of Evan, to his teenage years full of struggle. Zaya also told how he slammed his bones to raise a little money so as not to feel hunger, how his school values are very bad because of his brain is very mediocre. And how he faces bullying every day, both when he is in the waiting room, at school, and when he is working. Zaya told me everything without anyone missing.
Until the last one, Zaya tells how she met Aaron.
Zaya tells the story of the beginning she met the man, until the incident that happened to her with Aaron. Zaya also recounted her marriage, as well as how happy she was at the birth of Albern. At the end of the story, Zaya talks about her divorce.
In that part Zaya becomes emotional. He said every word with a trembling voice. Occasionally his tears also fell, although he quickly removed them again.
Evan saw that the man named Aaron had such great meaning for Zaya. It was the way Zaya said her name. There was another twinkle in Zaya's eyes as she told him about the man. Then Evan realizes one thing, Zaya loves the man and is devastated by his divorce. Reality that also broke Evan's heart to formless. The woman who has always been in his heart all this time, apparently loves another man.
Zaya finished the story about her life. They both fell silent.
Evan seemed to be digesting the whole of Zaya's story. While Zaya tried to calm herself because it had evaporated the emotions that she had been craving. Both were quiet for a long time.
"Sorry.." Evan finally said.
Zaya.
"I'm sorry for letting you face it all alone" Evan said.
Zaya just smiled.
"It's not all Evan's fault. This has become my way of life, of course I have to live it myself." he replied.
Evan sighed.
"It's my fault. If only I hadn't left, you wouldn't have had to face all that suffering. Despite the difficulties, we can deal with them together."
Zaya turned to Evan and smiled again.
"If you don't go, you won't be a heart specialist, and I won't have a cafe either. Maybe I'll still be a baker and Brother might be a street busker." Zaya chuckled, making Evan inevitably smile.
"Don't regret what happened, brother. This is the scenario God has written for us. It's impossible that what happened doesn't have a good side at all." Zaya continued.
"All the suffering I've experienced in my life has led me to learn so many things. I became stronger and stronger. Every difficulty matures my thinking, so that I can become what I am today."
"My meeting with Aaron, my marriage and my divorce. I have accepted everything. There is nothing I regret. Because I believe that if God had chosen this path for me, there would be good things after that. I believe that." Zaya said again.
This time Evan looked at Zaya and looked at her meaningfully.
"It turns out that now you really are an adult, Dee." he muttered with a smile.
Zaya smiled too. Then they were both immersed in their own thoughts.
As the sun began to rise, they finally decided to return. After saying goodbye to the caretaker, they also drove along with the car that Evan drove.
Zaya let go of her gaze out the window. Seeing the pepohohohan lined the side of the road with an unpredictable gaze.
Occasionally Evan glanced at Zaya. He was a little worried looking at the silent Zaya with an indecipherable expression like this. Evan is afraid that Zaya will be unhappy with Evan's words about their childhood promise and move away from Evan.
"Dee.." call later.
Zaya.
"Why?" tanyakanya.
Evan seemed hesitant to say his apology.
"I take you directly to your house, yes, no need to stop by kafe again, it looks like you are very tired and need to rest" said Evan finally.
Zaya did not answer.
"I've never been to your house, anyway, so I'd all like to visit. I'll have someone drive your car to your house later." Evan continued.
Zaya finally nodded.
"All right.." she replied.
Evan smiles. He looked happy because Zaya did not reject him.
"Dee, I'm sorry, if my words were changed earlier made you uncomfortable." Evan finally ventured to express his concerns.
Zaya smiled.
"It's okay" he answered.
"You're not going to stay away from me, are you?" ask Evan again.
This time Zaya turned her head and looked towards Evan.
"Of course not. Brother Evan will still be my brother." he replied with a smile.
Evan smiled.
"Thank you." he muttered in relief. He also refocused on his drive.
Right in the middle of the day they return to the city center. Evan seemed to demean the speed of his car and pulled over at a restaurant that was quite luxurious.
Zaya turned to Evan as if asking for an explanation.
"It's time for lunch, we'll eat first" Evan said as he unfastened his seatbelt.
Zaya did not answer. He simply resigned and obeyed Evan's words.
They both got out of the car. Evan holds Zaya's hand when he enters the restaurant. Zaya did not refuse and just let her fingers be grasped by Evan.
But then Zaya's steps immediately stopped. His eyes were rubbed at the unsettling gaze of someone who was at one of the restaurant tables not far from him.
Zaya. Impulsively he pulled his hand from Evan's grasp, like a man caught cheating on him.
Zaya became increasingly uncertain, from so many places, why also Evan had to bring her here. He really doesn't want to meet that person right now.
Unexpectedly, Zaya got up from her seat and stepped towards Zaya. His gaze became more and more unpredictable. Zaya's chest suddenly rumbled. He was really worried about what would happen next.
'What do you want, Aaron?'
