"Mama..."

Albern's voice rang out again, bringing Zaya back to her senses.

Zaya hurriedly calmed herself down and smiled at her beloved son. Zaya approached them.

"Darling..." Zaya grabbed Albern into her arms. The boy returned Zaya's embrace not less tightly.

After a long while, they let go of each other's embrace.

Zaya cupped Albern's face and watched every part of it with a smile. Things that never happened while he was living in Aaron's house.

This is how it feels to be able to interact closely with your own child. Really fun. During this time when she was Aaron's wife, moments like this never once she felt.

Don't blame Zaya if she feels like her divorce and Aaron's the right thing.

"Let's go in".

Zaya opened the door and led Albern inside.

Aaron followed behind Zaya.

Zaya let them sit in the guest seat. Then he took a moment back, leaving Aaron and Albern who seemed to still observe the atmosphere of Zaya's house.

The house is not very large and has only two bedrooms, but feels very comfortable to live in. The paint color is very soft and smells of room fragrances are very soothing.

Not long after Zaya came back out in a house dress. His hands were carrying a tray of drinks and small meals. Then after putting it on the guest table, Zaya also sat down next to Albern.

"Albern misses you." Aaron's voice breaks the silence.

"That's why I brought him here" he added.

Zaya looked back at Albern and gently stroked his face. His heart was so happy to hear that his son missed him. Zaya unconsciously smiled.

Aaron looked at Zaya's smile with a hard look to describe. There was a subtle vibration that infiltrated his chest and made his heart beat rather quickly than usual. His heart is a little thumping. Never before had she felt this way when she saw Zaya's smile.

"Mama, can Al stay the night?" ask Albern later.

Zaya's eyes are a bit round. He was surprised to hear Albern's question, and delighted.

"Al want to stay here?" tanyanya could not believe it.

Albern nodded with a faint smile.

"Can you, Ma?" ask again.

Zaya's smile returned, this time she grabbed Albern in her arms and hugged him tightly as if she did not want to take him off again.

"Of course you can, honey. Al can stay here as much as Al wants. Mama would love to sleep with Al. Mama also misses Mama's angel very much." Zaya kissed the head of her son affectionately.

Again the interaction of mother and child is not spared from Aaron's fixed gaze.

Zaya realizes it, but she pretends not to know and acts ordinary. He did not want to misbehave and be stupid in front of Aaron. For some reason, at this time he felt the need to keep his image in front of the man. Perhaps because they have now divorced and returned to being two strangers.

"But Papa's staying here too, Ma?" Albern's question this time successfully made Zaya's eyes perfectly rounded.

His eyes involuntarily looked towards Aaron who was still faithful looking at him. Their eyes met for a while, then Zaya cast her gaze in another direction.

"Papa misses Mama too, so Papa has to stay here as well." pinta Albern stubbornly.

Zaya seemed to arrange a word to reject Albern's request. He couldn't have let Aaron stay at his house. After all, the man will not want to stay at his simple house, right?

"Papa's T-shirt must go to the office early in the morning. So Papa will definitely be troubled if you stay here. Maybe Papa's late going to the office." Zaya tries to resist Albern's wishes.

"No problem."

Suddenly, Aaron's voice interrupted.

"Papa's gonna stay here with Al. Papa can go to the office a little afternoon." added Aaron again with a smile towards Albern.

But then, Zaya could not deny it anymore because Albern was cheering with excitement. Albern seemed very happy to hear Aaron's words. It was rare for Zaya to see Albern as cheerful as that, so she could not bear to reject his wishes.

Zaya gives up and agrees to Albern's wish. Just this one time doesn't matter Zaya thought.

Malampun. Zaya cooks spaghetti for dinner the three of them. Seen Albern eating voraciously and very excited.Zaya was very happy to see him. It had been a long time he did not see Albern eating, and honestly he missed this moment.

After finishing dinner, Zaya cleaned the dinner table and washed the dirty dishes. Albern and Aaron watched the tv in the middle of the room.

At first glance they were like a normal simple little family. But then he smiled wryly. If it wasn't for indulging Albern's wishes, there was no way they would have been like this.

The day is getting late. Zaya had put Albern to bed in his room and prepared a guest room for Aaron to wear.

Then Zaya approached Aaron who appeared to be sitting on the side of Zaya's house.

"I've prepared the guest room. You can use it tonight. But of course not as comfortable as your home. I hope you don't mind." said Zaya. Then without waiting for a response from Aaron, Zaya stepped away.

"How are you?"

Suddenly Aaron's question makes Zaya stop his steps.

Zaya was silent for a moment, then turned towards Aaron.

"Okay." she replied briefly.

"Why did you refuse my compensation the other day?" ask Aaron again. This time he moved from his seat while looking at Zaya.

Zaya breathed.

"I didn't turn it down, I gave it to Albern." he said.

Aaron looked with a slanted smile at Zaya's reasoning.

"I just want to make sure you live well after getting divorced from me. That's why I gave it all away. But you turned it down and it made me worry." said Aaron sounding desperate.

Zaya was silent for a moment while looking at Aaron.

"Thank you for your concern. But I'm fine without that compensation. You don't have to worry about me anyway, I'm no longer your wife." Zaya said.

Aaron fell silent. Zaya's words struck him so hard that he could answer nothing. A fact that Zaya is no longer his wife at the moment, but why did she feel unhappy when Zaya said that?

"I just want you to be happy, Zaya." Aaron said at last.

Zaya who heard it only smiled.

"Did I not hear wrong? Since when do you think of my happiness?" the sarcasm.

"It doesn't need to be like this, Aaron. Stop pitying me. It was enough for seven years yesterday that I lived under your mercy. And that's too sad."

Zaya threw out her rough breath.

"I don't want to live such a miserable life anymore" Zaya added.

"Go to bed, good night."

Zaya left Aaron still standing with a stunned face.

Aaron didn't expect the Zaya he knew back then had really changed. It seemed like such a deep wound had forced him to build a fortress to protect his heart from being hurt again.

Yesterday's beautiful flower has sprouted thorns on its stem now, so it will wound anyone who tries to touch it.

Aaron smiled with irony. It will never be easy to get back to Zaya. It seemed like he had started getting punished for what he had done to Zaya all along.
