"Sister Evan, come in first." Zaya's voice broke Evan's daydream.
Evan smiled again. Then with some hesitation, Evan followed Zaya's words. He sits himself in the guest seat opposite Aaron.
The eyes of the two meet again. Aaron looked at Evan intently and unreadably. While Evan tries to be more relaxed and act ordinary. But still, the smell of competition was smelled from these two men.
"Mama, who is this Om?" asked Albern suddenly.
Zaya was a bit surprised, then hurriedly smiled at her son.
"Darling, this is my friend. His name is Om Evan."
"Sister Evan, meet me, this is Albern. My son I told you about the other day."
Evan smiled at Albern. Then he took the initiative to shake Albern's hand. Albern welcomed Evan's hand with a probing look. His eyes watched Evan very closely, as if he wanted to give an assessment of his Mama's friend.
Albern is a typical child who will not take anything new for granted. His mind is very critical. He will question something he thinks is inappropriate.
"Hi, Albern. It's good to meet you." Evan tried to be friendly. While Albern only responded with a thin nod.
Their handshakes were also released.
"Didn't Mama want to introduce this Om with Papa too?" asked Albern innocently.
Zaya was a bit surprised.
"Oh, uh, yes." he said stammered.
"Sister Evan, introduce me too. It's his father Albern.., Aaron." he added awkwardly.
Evan looked back at Aaron. This time with a thin smile.
Evan extended his hand to Aaron.
"Evan." said steady and confident.
Aaron shakes Evan's hand with an intimidating look, as if to say Evan is no match for him.
"Aaron." His voice sounded heavy and deep. Full of charisma.
Evan took off their handshake while still smiling. It seems he's not daunted by Aaron's perfection. He even looks very calm and is able to make Aaron feel disturbed.
Zaya feels a different air since Evan's arrival. For some reason, it felt so tense as if he was in a battle arena.
"Awhile, I made you a drink first" Zaya said nervously as she walked into the kitchen. Somewhat relieved it feels to be able to get away from the awkward atmosphere in his living room earlier even if only for a moment.
Soon, Zaya returned with drinks and small meals. He rested himself on the side of Albern.
Zaya glanced at Evan and Aaron alternately. These two people still gave off a very thick aura of hostility. Zaya had no idea what the real problem was between these two people. But clearly, it is very visible if both of them do not like each other.
Evan turned his gaze to Zaya.
"Are we leaving?" tanyanya gently.
Zaya seemed a bit nervous as she was about to answer Evan's question.
"Actually, I didn't know that Albern would be staying here tonight. That's why I agreed to watch the movie with Brother." she said slowly, trying to reject Evan.
Suddenly Albern got up and grabbed Zaya's arm.
"Mama... Al is so tired, wants to sleep now." whining.
"Eh?"
Zaya was a little surprised. Never this long has his son whined like that. Albern is an independent and intelligent boy. At this young age, the boy was always calm as an adult. But why was he whining like a child now?
Zaya hurriedly fumbled at Albern's forehead.
"Aaron, is Albern unwell?" tanyanya.
Aaron looked towards Albern while linking his eyebrows together.
"When he was going here he was fine." replied Aaron.
Albern's getting closer.
"Al, no pain, Ma. Al's just tired and wants to rest now." whining again.
Zaya is confused. The reason is still too early to go to sleep, and usually Albern also never sleep this early. But since his son was already whining, he had no choice but to obey.
"Sister Evan, sorry, yeah. Looks like we're not going out tonight. I had to accompany Albern to sleep." Zaya finally said in a regretful tone.
"It's okay. Albern must miss you, be with him. We can go out next time." said Evan softly.
Zaya nodded while smiling in relief. Then he led Albern to his room, leaving Aaron and Evan in the guest room.
The two men looked back at each other. This time there was no more smile on Evan's lips. His face looked more serious and did not show a sweet look anymore. Evan seemed to want to emphasize, if Aaron did not make him tremble to get close to Zaya.
"Stop messing around with him, Doctor Evan. She's not the right woman for you to have fun with." Aaron's voice broke the silence.
Evan frowned hearing Aaron's call to her. It seemed like the man had investigated his background. Then he pulled one corner of his lips forming a slanted smile.
"Aren't you the one currently playing around with him, Mr Aaron?" the sarcasm.
"You even invited your son to play with him, didn't you? Wh why? Is seven years not enough for you to play?" asked Evan again in a provoking tone.
Aaron clenched his hands until his handbooks turned white.
"Dragon's talking to you." he said. His face gave off a deadly aura that would horrify anyone who saw it.
Evan smiled again.
"Don't worry, Mr. Aaron. I can guarantee that I'm very serious about your ex-wife right now." replied Evan with a little emphasis on the word 'former' in his sentence. Then without waiting for a response from Aaron, Evan waltzed away from the place.
Now there is a Aaron, standing still with the anger that feels will explode at that moment. Hearing the word 'former wife' spoken by Evan earlier actually made his blood boil. Though he knew very well if it was a fact, but Aaron seemed to be unable to accept the truth.
A little while later, Zaya returned to the guest room after delivering Albern to bed in her room.
Zaya looked a little surprised to find Aaron was still in the living room, not Evan.
"Albern's asleep?" ask Aaron.
Zaya nodded.
"It looks like he's exhausted" Zaya said.
Then Zaya glanced at the porch of the house, looking with her eyes if Evan had still not left and was still outside.
"He's gone." said Aaron as if knowing what Zaya had in mind.
Aaron moved his legs closer to Zaya, then stopped when their distance was very close. Aaron looked at Zaya deeply, making Zaya link her eyebrows together in confusion.
"How far are you from him, Zaya?" ask Aaron later.
Zaya was silent and did not answer. He was surprised by the question asked by Aaron. Why should he care about his personal life? They're not in a relationship anymore, are they?
"That has nothing to do with you. I don't have to answer." Zaya said.
Aaron's breath seemed to be hunting upon hearing Zaya's answer. Unknowingly, his firm hands blocked both of Zaya's arms and cornered the woman to a wall.
Zaya rebelled, trying to get out of Aaron's body. But of course Aaron's energy is much greater and Zaya's efforts are in vain.
"Take me off, Aaron. What are you doing?" sergeant Zaya was furious. He continued to rebel by expelling all his strength.
"If you want me to let you go, answer me! How far are you with her?" ask Aaron again. This time with a tone that does not want to be denied.
Instead of answering, Zaya glared angrily at Aaron.
"That's my business, not yours. Take care of your own business!" yells.
Aaron's emotions also rose when he heard Zaya's words.
"From now on, all your business is my business. I need to know every single thing about you. You have to tell me everything!" reply Aaron no less angry.
Zaya looked surprised and slightly flabbergasted. Aaron looked at her with astonishment.
"You must be out of your mind." he sighed sarcastically.
Aaron was silent for a while.
"really. I'm not sane anymore. I lost my mind because I missed you too much." he muttered while still staring at Zaya deeply.
Then without Zaya guessing, Aaron brought his face closer, like he was about to kiss Zaya.
