De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past

De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past
Starting with Simple Things

"Call who?" Xavier comes in with a tray of breakfast for them, but Jessie is busy struggling with her phone.

"Alroy." The suddenness of that answer made Xavier's sharp gaze instantly highlight him.

Jessie chuckled, then stuck out her hand asking Xavier to come closer.

"She called first," explained Jessie hugging her husband who was sitting on the bedside, "she regretted not coming when I realized because there was a little problem with her company. Naomi wanted to see me." Jessie's a little moody. He missed that boy too.

Hearing him Xavier remembered something, then immediately grabbed his wife's face and looked at her deeply.

"You said you wanted to open a new leaf, but didn't know where to start, did you?" Jessie nodded. He said it after a crying incident a few days ago at the hospital.

"Then start from the simple things you should have done."

Jessie was a little confused to understand that, so Xavier stood up and walked towards the dressing table. The man returned with two envelopes and a small jewelry box.

"Don't forget to wear your necklace again." He put a necklace on his wife's neck.

"What's that?" It was no stranger to those two envelopes. Sure enough, he instantly fell silent as Xavier handed it to him.

"Your parents' letter and Jessica's. I don't want you to keep the burden anymore. Just let go of everything and live with me in peace" said Xavier gently as he wrapped Jessie's hair beside his ear.

Jessie let out a light sigh and smiled. Right, it's a simple thing. He should have read it six years ago, but there was no courage.

"My company." Pulling her husband's hand to sit next to her. Jessie raised her head on Xavier's shoulder.

"They sent this to the post office before my 20th birthday. Thank goodness, if you give it straight away maybe this letter will never arrive." Jessie chuckles softly. Xavier knew this woman was trying to hide her sadness. One kiss he gave on the top of Jessie's head.

Jessie remembers this letter well until the day before her birthday, but it will only be read after they regroup. He had thought the letter was ridiculous because only this time his family made a letter rather than saying it directly.

Who would have thought that the thing that is considered ridiculous will be the last gift from them. Like a sign, right?

"Open up." He stroked his wife's arm.

The first letter he opened belonged to his parents.

My little princess ....

"I agree with them" Xavier commented flatly. Look at that shitty face.

Jessica forced us to write a letter. We think this is very strange, really. Don't laugh when you read it!

Jessie who wanted to laugh instantly undoed her intentions as soon as she read the last sentence.

Your father and I are writing it together now. You know your dad sucks, right? Now he's upset that I wrote this.

Jessie couldn't help but smile. Now he's increasingly convinced that his parents actually love each other, just don't dare to reveal each other.

"If I were your father, I'd lock your mother away from nowhere. They just happen to be in one place, right? Just force it to come back. Not necessary! Just register the marriage to the civil registry."

Jessie mendelik's. That's called coercion! But no need to be surprised, this guy is Xavier.

"How difficult it is to declare love" decak the man. Jessie held back from stuffing this guy's mouth.

This is my father, not you! you guys are obviously different, Jessie's mind is upset.

Actually we don't know what to write, but happy birthday, my little princess. Welove you.

"See? There's nothing to be afraid of, right," Xavier said.

Jessie nodded in affirmation. Although there was nothing, there was still a yearning that re-inflated in his heart.

But when she was about to fold the paper again, Jessie accidentally saw another piece of writing on the folded end of the paper. If not observant, no one will realize the writing there.

Help daddy kidnap your mom.

Spontaneous Jessie clasped her husband's hand and looked at the man with surprise in her eyes. Her tears flowed gently on her cheeks, but Xavier kissed the corner of her eye where the water was flowing.

"They're together now" said Xavier softly.

Jessie smiled happily even though the tears were still coming out. At least his parents loved each other to the end even though death should be their last path together.
