De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past

De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past
Commemorative Gifts

Jessie sat on the edge of the bed staring at her sleeping husband. His outstretched hand touched the sturdy jaw gently.

"Now is the anniversary of my parents' death. I have to take care of a lot of things and maybe we won't meet for some time" Jessie whispered.

Let's just say it's also room for Xavier to think it over.

It may be selfish if she chooses to move on her own without her husband even though Xavier wants her to work things out together. But Jessie did not want to repeat the same mistake that ended in regret for her.

"I love you. Before and now."

I want to finish it all without being imagined again. I want tranquility without being haunted by fear and despair.

"I'll end it and come back to you" he whispered again as he moved slowly without a sound and closed the door quietly.

The outside is still very dark because the time is still showing at two o'clock in the night. Jessie walked along the hallway of the room with a straight look without a sound.

He stopped right in front of a room and stared at the big door for quite a while.

"My problem has nothing to do with you. Xavier's accident six years ago was also because of me. It would be better for no one to get hurt again this time," he murmured.

After tucking an envelope under the vase in front of the room, Jessie resumed her steps.

Memorial day, huh? Right, not just the warnings of his parents, but the end of those involved. This time has finally arrived.

This year's anniversary will be a gift to her parents and Jessica.

"Jes?"

Valerie looked around in the dim light. The gloomy-looking atmosphere made Valerie slightly shudder. Some lights are not turned on.

The woman was a little confused because Jessie called her to come to the apartment Jessie had lived in before marriage even though the time was still showing at five in the morning.

Valerie stepped towards the bar table because she thought Jessie was there. Sure enough, the woman sat down while sipping a glass of wine.

"Jes?" call Valerie in doubt. The woman looked different than usual. It was a little cold and ....

Something is wrong! Jessie never liked being called that name.

"Sit, Val. Keep me drinking." Jessie pushed a glass of wine at him.

"You okay?" valerie asked carefully after sitting down.

"You think?"

"Come," he replied doubtfully.

"You know, Val ... I let one by one my family own Lawrence's property as theirs. They also have their own share of managing Lawrence's assets. Why are some still dissatisfied?"

"Because there's still someone who limits him. They don't want to be in command and want the highest position. That way people will respect and kneel" Valerie said.

Jessie smiled thinly. "Not everyone will behave the same. No need to explain my position now, right?" Instead of being respected, he was like a prey pursued by hunters.

"Because you didn't show up, Jes. They underestimated you."

Jessie nodded in understanding. "The cup is so ...."

"You're not that stupid to understand, are you?" Valerie still feels weird about Jessie.

"So what am I supposed to do, Val?" Ignoring Valeria's question.

Jessie just asked him?

"Do I have to show myself?" ask Jessie again.

Unknowingly Valeria nodded due to Jessie's intimidating gaze.

"Supposed— is, right?" said nervous.

What the fuck? Why is Jessie so scary. Nah! This isn't Jessie, it's Lawrence!

Only Lawrence had a haughty face like this. Jessie is always sweet and likes to smile.

"You got a problem?"

"When am I free from trouble?" jessie asked back, raising her next to her eyebrow.
