"So you changed my flowers." Jessie's eyes could not be seen reading line after line of writing that Xavier made in his memory book.
Xavier nodded.
"I've remembered it since I saw your book. Although I initially brushed it off because I never felt so close to women." Xavier tightened his grip on Jessie, "but I started to believe it when I fell in love so quickly with you."
Buk up! A small punch was given by Jessie.
"You're scaring me! I'm really scared!"
Xavier chuckled, then kissed his wife's hand many times.
"I'm grateful you have so much determination and courage now that you can make me with you when you were so scared."
"That's because of you!"
"Yes, I'm so happy. My wife is amazing." The man hugged Jessie spoiled.
Brakk!!
Xavier held back the anger that was about to explode upon hearing the door of the room being opened violently. Luckily Jessie calmed him down immediately.
"Lawrence" said the newly arrived woman.
Jessie smiled as she spread her hands. The woman immediately ran and hugged him.
"How are you doing, Laura?" Gently stroked Laura's trembling back.
Laura is not alone. There's Felix with him. Jessie gives the code to leave them both even though Xavier is reluctant to move on. He was forced to leave, followed by Felix who closed the door.
"I was very surprised to hear about you being—"
"Forget it, I'm fine now."
Laura looks moody. Sometimes he seems to want to say something but is restrained. There was much doubt Jessie had caught on to the woman.
"Maura ... Tell me what it is."
"What?"
"Don't hide anything" said Jessie.
Laura set her breath tight. He's not sure what to say now that Jessie has just recovered.
"Jess—"
Jessie raised her eyebrows.
"Valerie is gone. I just visited his grave."
Jessie's face turned into an indecipherable look.
"You kidding me?"
"I'm not kidding" Laura almost whispered.
**
Jessie was speechless with a blank look staring at the shabby looking folds of paper. Before leaving Laura gave the shabby paper to him.
"Officers there found this during the evacuation six months ago" Laura said before leaving.
Don't know what's in it, but Jessie is hesitant.
There was no one in his room at the moment. Xavier left a few hours ago with Argus in a hurry because of work and Rachel just came out to find lunch.
"What are you writing, Val," Jessie murmured.
After sighing slowly, Jessie finally tried to open fold by fold and started reading it.
***
Xavier opened the door slowly as he watched his wife fall asleep with the palm of her hand closing her eyes.
As he approached, Xavier realized his wife was not sleeping, only closing her eyes with her hands.
"Babies?" The woman did not answer.
"Jess, are you okay?" Rachel asked because she felt strange about her daughter-in-law.
Jessie was silent. It made Xavier worried especially when he saw something flowing from the corner of Jessie's eye visible from the crack of his finger. Xavier immediately put away Jessie's hand that was covering her eyes.
The three were surprised to see Jessie's closed eyes were already wet with tear marks surrounding her eyes.
"Baby?!"
Jessie still did not answer, but the woman's lips began to tremble with a small sobbing that began to sound.
"Hei— Why are you crying?" Rachel started to worry.
"Son, where's the pain? Tell me where it hurts," asked Argus.
"Baby, tell me what's going on?" Xavier tried to calm down.
There is no answer from Jessie, but the issue is becoming more and more. The woman nodded and cried loudly, even her hands had to hit her chest which felt tight.
Jessie no longer cared about her worried family. All he thought about was crying as hard as possible to vent all his emotions.
He tried to stop, but the tears kept flowing out. The defense has collapsed. Something he could bear he finally let go of as well. All the grief mixed into one, making him feel immense frustration.
Xavier is still trying to calm him down. He did not know to be happy or sad because after a long time the woman finally returned to let her tears spill.
When Xavier's eyes accidentally found a lump of paper and opened it, their question was answered already. Xavier asks the two to leave and leaves them both.
"Cry, it's okay. Cry whenever you feel sad. It's not a sin you have to endure" whispered Xavier as he hugged his wife.
Jessie was getting sobbing by tightening her arms.

Sorry ...
Maybe this is all I can do to pay for everything I do.
Laura's right. Love shouldn't hurt and I've hurt you so many times.
Jess ... Sometimes I feel like you're aware of my feelings, but you deliberately dismiss them.
I love you, Jess.
I finally admit it now and I realize— maybe God brought me up with you just to get to know each other instead of having. I was too naive to think I could have you.
Ii'm sorry. I will ask God to let you live and be happy with your husband. I'll pay for it with my life instead.
Be happy this time, you are in a better place.
Please, don't hold back your tears. Cry, it can make you much better.
Thank you for making me have someone valuable.
Valerie
