De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past

De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past
Happy or Sad?

"I wonder how you know their story."

"Since when have you been so curious" Jessie muttered with her eyes closed.

They were in the car to Lawrence's company. Don't know why Xavier turned into a chatty man.

"Are they real?" ask again.

"Why?" Still with closed eyes.

"I want to go to the man, say if his lover is nearby!" Jessie smiled thinly.

"Much closer than you think, Xav. Unfortunately the man won't recognize her anymore, no matter how close they are."

"It's so annoying!" as Xavier looked straight at the road.

"Wait on! Who are they really? Your friends or family? Or the other one?"

"Fiction" replied Jessie lightly.

"What?!" Xavier's surprised.

"It's just a novel I read. I copied some things in his book." Jessie opened her eyes and smiled.

The story is sad for others. Is it only him who thinks otherwise? Others say sad, while he says happy.

"You think I'm stupid? You can't fool me."

There was clearly an implied emotion when Jessie told me a story. If it's just a book, Jessie doesn't have to show any excess emotion.

Jessie chuckles small. "Normally other people will believe me if I say so" he said.

"Not with me!"

"I know."

Jessie then fell silent, looking straight ahead.

"That girl, I know her. But she's been different" Jessie said slowly. "If she's still the same, I might still not like her."

"Who is he?"

Jessie looked at Xavier with a meaningful smile.

" .... "

Xavier was pensive in his study. Felix just stood in front of him without daring to disturb his thinking master. Yet it had been twenty minutes of Xavier like this. Finally Felix tried to vent.

Whaties? Felix's confused.

"Before the accident six years ago, I had no contact with anyone, right?"

After the accident he was unable to remember some things, but doctors said he was fine after surgery.

His life is very flat. There are no women or important things. So for Xavier there is no need to worry about what he forgets.

"It's weird why I think about it this way."

I don't know either, sir! We didn't meet at the time! Felix screamed in his heart.

"If you remember your senior years, there seems to be nothing to worry about" Felix said.

Also true. If he had someone, Xavier would have remembered him. But all he remembers is the boring life of his old high school days. Until he entered college, he still remembered. There are no women! Why does he keep thinking about it.

Akh!! Xavier rubbed his hair dizzy.

"Cancel my schedule today. I'm going to Lawrence." Xavier picks up the car keys, leaving Felix to open his mouth.

"I think I'm overtime again." Felix breathed a sigh.

On the way to Lawrence's company, Xavier thought about it again. He convinced himself several times.

"Mom?"

Not the first Jessie he saw when he entered the room, but Rachel who was sitting relaxed. What's her mother doing here?

"Xav's?" Rachel was just as surprised.

"What's Mom doing here?"

"About no? I've been here a lot with Jessie before you got married" said Rachel.

Before marriage?

"Now I understand why Jessie's a daughter-in-law candidate." They are very familiar! Xavier smiled cynically.

"Why look at me like that?!" Rachel glares. It's a bitch Xavier's face.

"Where's Jessie?"

"In a meeting!"

Xavier looked at his mother. Questions in his head.

"Mom," call him.

"What?" Rachel felt Xavier was a little strange.

"Mom remember my accident six years ago?"
