De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past

De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past
Why Him?

"How's it going?" asked the man who was sitting arrogantly in his chair.

"My real man is uncertain, sir. When the great lord Lawrence ordered the search, the perpetrator who hit master Jose and mistress Sophia was already found dead by suicide."

"Ck! It's a pain, "then what about Jessica?"

"The accident history is the same, it's just that the perpetrator is different. But most likely he was also the same person who planned the murder of master Jose and mistress Sophia."

"Interesting! So he intervened directly to get rid of Jessica." The man chuckled coldly.

The assistant who was in front of him shuddered. This was the true side of the man he called the master. Wasn't it! This figure has been around for a long time. It's just never been clearly shown.

"Regarding Miss Jessie, she has managed to take over the company" added her assistant again.

"I knew. I'm always watching him." The man grinned, "make sure no one gets close to him. I'm the one who wants to punish him." Get up from his seat and stand facing out which shows a view of Manhattan from above.

The man raised the corner of his lips cynically. He wanted to laugh at people who could not recognize the woman as Lawrence.

His face, his lips, his nose and his eyes, aren't they all perfect?

"It's a pity that the woman should be hurt. God created it to be enjoyed, not harmed."

The assistant behind him looked down. Fortunately the man's obsession can still be controlled so it does not cross the line.

"Lawrence ... I want to have it. I'll snatch it from anyone including the old man if he interferes." The highlight of the eye was sharpening, as if the gaze could pierce a tub of arrows.

"Sir, you can't play rough on women." Himself advised the master.

The man looked at her with a charming smile.

"That body could break if I played rough. Look at her slender waist, I can't bear to hug her."

"Don't imagine it!" then he remembered his assistant.

The assistant sighed. The man was too forthright.

"I'll step down first, sir. There's still a lot to take care of about the accident."

"Go." The man shook his hand.

"Lately I've always felt watched, Val," Jessie said suddenly as she stared forward with a ballpoint pen playing on her fingers.

"You sure? Or just your feelings." Valerie herself was busy flipping through the pages on her documents.

The two sat down under Valeria's couch with a box of pizza on the table.

"Of course." Jessie shrugged her shoulders.

Valerie put down the thick document quite hard after she finished signing some important parts.

"Finally done!" Valeria stretched her body.

"It's only natural that you feel that way" later, "actually as long as no one knows about you all being safe," Valerie casually began tidying up her desk and bribing a slice of pizza.

"Someone opened my book" Jessie said, making Valerie almost swallow a choking.

"Uhuk— uhuk! What— what you said!"

"Drink first." Jessie pointed at the glass of water with her chin.

The woman complied and gulped down the water.

"Your memory books mean?" Valerie. Jessie nodded in affirmation.

"Oh God, Jessie! How then?" Valerie drew closer in curiosity.

At first the book was a kind of diary that Jessie wrote about her love story. Actually it's just an old book because Jessie has stopped writing since her story ran aground.

Anyone who sees, will know it immediately. Even though Valerie herself had never read it because it was privacy.

Jessie shrugged her shoulders. "Whoever he is, he's on a show right now."

"You mean he's the guy around you?"

"Only the owner of the house I let in. The waiter doesn't allow me at all unless I'm there" Jessie explained.

Valerie immediately adjusted her breathing upon hearing that.

"So you mean Rachel, Argus, Ellard and ... Your own husband!" his screeches.

"Hm."

"Wait for Jess, ask me who I suspect."

"Who?" Jessie complies with the middle.

"Xavier!"

Jessie smiled faintly at his statement. "Why him?" his response was indifferent while shaking slowly.

Valerie knew that Jessie only thought of him as a joke at this time.

"Jess."

"Hmm?"

"I wanted to say this a long time ago." Valerie looked at Jessie, "the heart also has a memory."
