De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past

De Lawrence: Ambition of the Past
An Honor

Jessie is now in a closed room with a large window that directly faces the view of the sea. In front of him were some lunch dishes.

Today Jessie will finish her goal, worried that if delaying any longer there will be unexpected problems. After waiting for a while, finally someone came and joined.

A middle-aged man with after a suit, almost gray hair eaten of age smiled at him.

"We meet again, Miss. Lawrence," she said kindly.

"It's good to see you again, Uncle Edgar."

"You're getting awesome," he said again.

"Stop praising me." Forced smile. Edgar chuckles.

"That's not a compliment, Miss. Mr. Jose does have a special daughter."

"That trouble you mean?" Raised next to his eyebrows.

"Of course not." Jessie smiled again at Edgar's words.

"May we eat first. I'm hungry."

"Haha, of course. Let me prepare something."

Jessie held back Edgar's hand that was about to stand up. "Company me, not serve me."

Edgar smiled. "Good, Miss." Sit back.

You have changed very mature. The great lord would be proud to see you now. Very similar to Mrs. Lawrence.

"It's an honor to sit at a table with you."

Jessie laughed a little. "You're overreacting, Uncle. I can even sit with a beggar."

"That's why you're different."

After lunch they both finished. Edgar took something out of his bag and put it on the table.

"It's yours, Miss. Lawrence. You're qualified!"

Edgar presented a document showing proof of ownership of a company as well as shares.

"The great lord has given up all his shares along with those of your parents and also your deceased sister."

"Then with the consent of the great lord or owner of the company then I declare that Miss. Jessie De Lawrence, also known as Jessie Millen, is the CEO and Chairman of Lawrence! Congratulations, Miss."

Jessie simply smiled faintly and grabbed the pile of paper she had wanted all along.

"He wouldn't curse me up there, would he?" shriek Jessie, "however I have taken hers."

"I'm sure he'll be happy to see you now."

Edgar should have seen a happy face after the decision was finally made, not a sad face like the one before him now.

He knew that Jessie never wanted the throne, but I didn't know what happened so she came and volunteered.

"Miss ... Although it wasn't yours at first. But you have also become a candidate directly chosen by the great master. If you feel guilty, it shouldn't be necessary. The position will move to a new candidate after the original owner can no longer use."

In the sense that the owner has died or is no longer eligible. Like being negligent and can no longer carry out their duties.

"Great master wishes you very much, Miss. You're the only one left of the legitimate family and you're the most trusted by the great lord."

Jessie smiling. "Thanks, Uncle. Give my regards to Grandpa. Tell him that I love him. Take care of grandpa's health. Once it's done, I'll bring her a great-grandchild."

"The big master must be happy. The house is deserted because people are getting older."

Edgar was a confidant of his grandfather. He has served for many years beside the great lord. He was also the butler who took care of the mansion where the great lord lived.

"Don't worry, Miss. The great lord will wait for that moment to arrive. And the handover of office will be announced as soon as possible in Finland to other officials" he explained.

"announced? You sure want to hear their whining."

They would surely be surprised to learn that the leadership had been transferred from the great lord.

Sure was! Lawrence never showed up and his age was young to take the lead. They would definitely make a thousand excuses to oppose.

"From the beginning everyone knew Lawrence was going to be the next leader."

"But I'm not Lawrence."

"You're still Lawrence for us. Whether you or your sister, you're the same" Edgar argued quickly, "about your identity, it's best to keep it a secret for your safety."

"Is there anything else you want to say?" jessie asked, "about Ellard maybe?" Switching conversations.

"Ah right. Sorry for the sudden arrival, miss. He was too happy because the great master let him go."

"He almost froze to death outside."

"That kid's a bad boy" Edgar licked, "hopefully you don't mind taking care of it either."

"No problem. I like it."
