The Primal Hunter's

The Primal Hunter's
Bloods

Jake feels good. Very good, actually. The sensation that came from facing certain death and coming out on top was overwhelming. He did not notice the strange look Jacob gave him because he was just enjoying what he was feeling. He did not notice that the others in his group had also left, although some of them quickly turned around when they saw the sight.

Among the newcomers, Caroline looks at Jake with a mixture of worry and fear.

"Are you hurt? There was so much blood ..." he asked in a soft voice. He felt a little nauseous, seeing the eerie shadow of Jake standing beside a man full of arrows, his blood glittering as it reflected the moonlight.

"I'm fine.it's not mine," Jake replied casually with a faint smile. He hopes to finish every potential conversation so he can move on to more important things. He got some system notifications he really wanted to get.

“Oh... alright,” the answer is hesitant.

Caroline didn't seem to want to ask anymore, while Jacob seemed to want to say something, but she chose not to. Jake gladly takes the opportunity to let go when no one else speaks up.

“I'll sit down and check my status message. There are no more enemies as far as I know, so relax everyone, ” said Jake, considering if he should tell them they could go back to sleep. He decided not to, as he deeply doubted anyone felt like sleeping right now. He sure as hell wasn't, his spirit was too high.

Jake walks into a bonfire that is still burning brightly as usual, sits on the same wood he used as a lookout last night, and finally opens his notification window to receive a bunch of messages.

*'DING!' Class: [Archer] has reached level 5 - Allotted stat points, +1 free points*

He won, not because of his stats, but purely because of how he fought. They were amateurs, Jake even doubted they used all their skills during the fight. Other than the intermediate warrior who used that glowing sword, he was unaware of anything else, and it's not like the skill actually has a visual prompt of what he's seen so far. In fact, he should instead be surprised that the man had the skill to make his sword shine like that, right from the start.

Seeing his advantage from the fight, his stats and level were good, but the real advantage came in the next few notifications. Although they are a little different from the previous ones.

Bloodline analyzed.

*Bloodline Awakened*: [Bloodline of the Primal Hunter (Bloodline Ability - Unique)] – Dormant power lies in the essence of your being. A unique innate ability that awakens in a newly initiated human lineage, Jake Thayne. Enhances innate instincts. Improving your ability to understand your environment. Improving hazard perception. +5% for perception.

A new skill has been unlocked, or is it an ability? He knew nothing about the lineage's business. His family background is nothing out of the ordinary, but he seems to have an innate ability associated with it.

It was not that he would complain just because he was a bit confused. The effect of his ability, in Jakes' honest opinion, is remarkable. It also explained why he had strange senses that no one else seemed to have. Even more amazing is that the description even includes his name. That's kind of cool in itself .. right?

What he gathered from his own experience, along with a description of his abilities, was that it had four effects. The first is an increase in instinct. Without a doubt, this was the explanation behind his appearance in battle and sometimes the supernatural reaction time he had. His ability to react far surpassed what his stats should have allowed, and the reason why he sometimes felt his body was unable to keep up with what he wanted.

The second part of the ability is the person who looks around him. The 360-degree perception he experienced during the fight made him act as if he had eyes on his back. He couldn't explain at all how it worked; he just 'knew' where everything was.

Even now, it is still active. He 'feel' the twinkling bonfire and every particle of smoke that enters the air. He 'knows' about the log underneath, how there is a small section inside that is hollow, and every single strand of grass around it. His understanding increased every time he focused on her, but it passively made him aware of everything around him, especially any movement.

However, everything was unclear, and the distance seemed to be only a few meters. He could not sense the others, as they were still on a corpse about 10 meters away. He estimated the distance might be five or six meters. Too low for reconnaissance, but very valuable in battle.

Third on the list is the perception of danger. That part is pretty clear, honestly. It was a piercing sensation that he felt whenever something dangerous was heading towards him, a feeling within his stomach that something dangerous was lurking ahead.

That part alone was already great, but what made part of this ability so powerful was the synergy with the other two effects. His perception of the area around him allowed him to understand the nature of the danger, and his heightened instincts allowed him to make split-second reactions.

The fourth and final part is a 5% stat bonus for perception. Although it was of course valuable, he saw it as insignificant compared to the other effects. He had no doubt it would prove to be more beneficial as he gained more stats, and his bonus started to add up.

The entire skill seemed much stronger than anything. Archer's Eye was also a perception-based skill, but compared to his Bloodline of the Primal Hunter, it was a useless boundary for anything other than scouting.

Even with his own ability being so admirable, it did not come alone, bringing more benefits.

*Title Earned*: [Bloodline Patriarch] – Unlock unique bloodline capabilities. The power found in the origin of your Record is yours, and yours alone to use and pass down throughout the multiverse. May your bloodline win. +15 Vitality, +10% for Vitality.

This one. massive. In a few different ways.

The title description itself is enough. Especially compared to his only other title, which is just a statement of the fact that he is now part of the multiverse and just getting to know him. This one was instead talking about something called Records. Whatever it is.

Even the title name felt a little more impactful. The Bloodline Patriarch. It showed that he was the ancestor of the bloodline and that it was his own. Does this mean that his entire family doesn't have it either? Was he the first to open it? The thought of his family even still alive briefly entered his mind, but he suppressed that thought. Now is not the time to be sentimental.

The description and statistics provided by the title indicate the system's desire for him to survive and thus allow the lineage to continue living. The enormous vitality of +15 instantly makes it the highest stat, only made better by the other +10% directly above.

Looking at his stats, they had experienced quite a good development ranging from leveling up, ability, and title.

His stats had seen a huge growth, which made him smile widely. However, he frowned slightly, as he began to question his vitality at 31. According to his quick calculation, he should have 29 vitality before +10%, being in the last 13 times he checked. After that, he got +1 points from his race levelling up and +15 from the title. With +10%, he should have been at 31.9. Does it only show integers rounded down?

Jake has 3 free points, so instead of thinking about it further, he just allocates one point and sees it jump straight from 31 to 33. So, only integers are rounded down. Understood, he thought, nodding inwardly.

As for his last two points, he decided to conduct another experiment. His stamina was at 144/170, higher than his maximum when he woke up earlier in the night. What Jake wants to know is how the maximum increase in resources affects the amount currently available.

He allocated free points for endurance, leaving him with one point left for later. He saw his stamina soar to 154/180, adding 10 static points to its maximum and current. Does this mean you could potentially have unlimited stamina with fairly repeated level increases? Jake wonders though he admits the scenario is far-fetched.

For the final free point, he wasn't sure how to distribute it, so he let it go for now. The last subject in his long list of system messages is the result of reaching level 5 in his Archer class:

*Archer grade skills available*

Jake mentally admits that he wants to browse through the skills of the class, and a huge list appears before him. To his surprise, a large amount of weapon skills appeared in front of him. [Basic Two-Handed Weapons (Inferior)], [Basic Shield Technique (Inferior)], [Basic Unarmed (Inferior)], [Basic Throwing Weapons (Inferior)], and so on and so on.

The only thing he doesn't seem to have is anything to do with magic. To be honest, Jake was not interested in them at all. He was more than happy with the [Advanced Archery (Common)] that had already been upgraded once, and he still had [Basic One-Handed Weapons (Inferior)] , ] , if things become uncertain and he is forced to riot like before. This makes it have only three options available at the bottom.

[Basic Trapping (Inferior)] – Archer is not limited to direct combat but can also use his tactical power to become a winner. Unleash skills using basic traps and knowledge of how to build them. Adding a very small bonus to the stat effect on the trap based on the nature of the trap.

[Basic Stealth (Inferior)] – Deadliest Predators are the ones not seen coming. Unlock basic abilities in the art of stealth, allowing you to stay undetected more easily and blend in with the environment. Added a very small bonus on the effects of agility and perception when successfully remained undetected.

[Basic Tracking (Inferior)] – The first goal of any hunt is to find your prey. Unlock basic abilities in tracking entities you know. There should be an identifiable track available. Added a very small bonus on the perceptual effect when tracking.

Everything is just basic skills. Thinking back to the previous two melee ambushers, both of them were above level 5 in their class. He would not be surprised at all if the two of them possessed basic stealth skills, given how close he was to them, while they managed to remain hidden. Even though the first soldier had a glowing weapon, so he definitely had the skills to do that. Yeah, that makes Jake a little jealous. Very good, the lucky man is dead.

He saw the value of everything, but he did not see himself making many traps, especially not with his bloodline abilities. He craves tracking skills, and he is considering using them to track where the three attackers came from.

But finally, he decided on [Basic Stealth (Inferior)] . He could imagine the synergy with his bloodline abilities, allowing him to attack his enemy before they got a chance to strike back. The fact that it is also enhanced with agility and perception only makes things better.

The fight has made him realize how little he has achieved since he got into the tutorial. They were all of a higher level than him, with intermediate warriors being at level 7 in his class, more than double than before. He decided that he should go hunting.

He chose a skill and felt the same feeling as when he got his class the first time. This time, however, it was much weaker. It gave him something that he was unsure if he could call 'knowledge', but he still instinctively understood it. Maybe it was because of his bloodline ability, but he doubted it. Either way, he now knew how to sneak a little better than before. They are small, subtle, and far from a complete guide to becoming an accomplished thief.

Closing all the menus, he felt very satisfied with himself. Maybe a little sad because getting a new skill is very anti-*******. There was no ability to shoot laser beams or shoot down eight suns with the eight arrows obtained.

Jake finally got up from the log and stretched his back. The smell of iron instantly reminded him that he was still covered in blood. Or rather, his robe and face were covered. He took off his robe, saw the clothes and pants underneath were spared from the spurt of blood. He quickly ran into a small river nearby, cleaned his face, and ran back to the camp once more, the entire journey taking less than a minute.

As he felt refreshed, he also started to feel strange. He soon realized that he had no weapons at all. His knife has been stripped, and his bow has been hijacked. He sees the others still near the bodies, and Jake begins to walk closer. He first got to the dead archer and picked up the bow he dropped, seeing it identical to the old one. The only difference is that this one is not broken.

While taking the bow, he could not help but look at the dead archer, the arrow was still sticking out of him, even though his blood had long stopped seeping out. The man's eyes were still wide open, showing visible horror. Jake looked at her as he stopped. He looked at the other corpses, the man with the sword still stuck in his skull, and the other lying in a pool of his own blood.

At the same time, he looked at the gaze that everyone had given him. It wasn't the same look of blame for causing Joanna's injury as before. That's one fear. That's when he woke up, much slower than he should have been.

The attackers are human. He just bombed three humans.
