Jake heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing the last choice.
Ambitious Hunters – Ambitious Hunters are always looking for the true challenge and the most powerful prey. For you, hunting is not just about gaining strength or death, but enjoying the ride itself. It is not something that can be taught but is part of who you are. Classes that focus on long-distance combat, mainly using bows and arrows, coupled with lightweight options for close range such as short swords and daggers. Classes are fast and flexible, focusing on agility rather than strength. The path of the Ambitious Hunter to power may be more complicated than many others due to their endless thirst for a worthy enemy, but power is inevitable if one survives. Stat bonus per level: +5 Per, +4 Agi, +3 End, +2 Str, +4 Points free
From the description ... it is not amazingly extraordinary. But the name itself stood out to him more than anything else elsewhere. Hunters. The word seemed to resonate with him. Not surprisingly, given his lineage is called "Primal Hunters".
He also felt like a description, well .. describe it. Explained purpose. He did not see himself as a very ambitious person for many years, not after his archery incident. The plan is just to. Of course, he enjoys his free time, but it turns out that being a financial consultant is not his dream.
But now he feels pushed. He has goals, has ambitions, and is more than willing to hunt him down.
Reading the description carefully, there seemed to be little difference between it and the ordinary archer class, other than the amount of stats and the type of skills it might offer. But the essence of the class and its purpose seems very similar.
Statistics have the same total as the Bowman of Decay.18 total statistics per level. Who still lost to his Alchemist of the Malefic Viper. Which suggests that her class is not too special or that she is really lucky with her profession. One should keep in mind that professions tend to provide fewer statistics than classes.
Jake remembers Viper's words to stay true to himself .. and while perhaps the Bowman of Decay is stronger here and now, this class is much more 'he' than anything offered before.
It might not make him stronger immediately, but he was still satisfied as he had without hesitation accepted the class and felt a familiar stream of information enter his mind along with the pleasant sound of leveling up.
*Congratulations, you have successfully developed your Class*
*'DING!' Class: [Ambicious Hunters] have reached level 25 - Allotted stat points, +4 free points*
*'DING!' Race: [Human (E)] has reached level 35 - Allotted stat points, +5 free points*
What happened next was his skill, the first was an upgrade to his Archery Eye, a skill he had since the beginning of the tutorial.
Transformation Skill: [Archer Eye (General)] Has been upgraded to [Hunter's Vision (Rarely)]
[Hunter's Sight (Rarely)] - The eyes of hunters are trained to track and kill their prey. Allows ambitious hunters to see prey more easily as well as their weaknesses. Passively provides a slight increase in the effect of perception on the visual organs.
His skill was an immediate improvement, and he even felt a slight improvement in his eyesight if he tried to look at his surroundings intensely. However, the change is very small. Overall not much has changed other than the "easier to find weaknesses" section-the new one. He had to test it in battle.
The final skill is where the juice actually resides.
[Big Game Hunters (Rare)] – True hunters are not looking for easy prey, but a true challenge. After hunting larger and more powerful prey than most, the Ambitious Hunters became more accustomed to encountering higher level enemies. Increases the user's resistance to aura and provides a slight increase in strength and agility when facing enemies above your highest level class or race. Bonuses are based on the difference between your prey level and yours. Limit 1.25x your level or 50 levels, whichever is highest. May your hunt bear fruit, and your ambition be achieved.
His skills seemed very good, especially for what he was planning. The limiter on the bonus was a little annoying, as his race was currently at 35 and his class was only at 25, making him lose a bonus worth 10 levels.
It would take him until he reached level 44 or so in his class to become the highest. And that's assuming he doesn't raise his profession level at all, which he's definitely planning.
In the end, nothing mattered to him at the moment. His body was still in the process of healing, and he was getting closer to being in a fighting condition. Soon, he should be able to drink another health herb and with that, it was time to hunt.
However, hunting became a bit more difficult due to minor problems. He had lost both melee weapons in his previous fights, and he currently only had a few rankless daggers in his spatial storage. He felt very sad to lose the bone dagger, mostly. It had helped him well and synergized well with his fighting style, so he had to rely on his bow for now. At least he had enough targets to hunt.
In the inner area, there were ferocious beasts everywhere, and high-level ferocious beasts at that. Wandering the source of experience, just waiting to be claimed.
He had to hurry before the other survivors got in here. First, he needed to gain as much experience as possible, and secondly, he was not looking for another fight at the moment given his near-death experience.
His only hope was that the conflict between the two factions would give him enough time to reach a more comfortable level of power.
Looking at the tutorial screen, he noted that the number of survivors was still going down slowly.

25 Days left, Jake thought to himself. 25 days to hunt down everything worth killing here .
"Jacob, please talk to me for God's sake," he said as he ran after the man who had clearly ignored him on purpose. “I do what I think is best for everyone! None of us know whether he did it or not, and I just don't want to take any risks.”
Flinched, Jacob turned to her. “How many times do I have to tell you that I know. But you'd rather kill an innocent man. You also know the truth, yet you lied and used me!”
"I told you I'm sorry!" Caroline said, really depressed. "Just tell me what do you want me to do?"
“I want you to leave me alone for a while. I need to think, ” Jacob replied as he continued walking away, leaving Caroline behind with a sad expression on her face.
Nothing goes as Caroline planned when it comes to Jacob. Jake has been allowed to talk for too long and makes it very clear that he is not the culprit they are looking for.
Moreover, they even failed to kill him. How she survived all those attacks is still a miracle for Caroline. Everything in the fight was too shocking.
The start had gone according to plan, and they had even managed to tie him up with a set of control skills. It should have been, but somehow, he managed to cause a mana explosion to come out of his body, which messed things up.
The explosion had made quite an impression on Caroline. The amount of raw mana used in it was insane. The crazier one is Jake who caused it. He was an archer, for God's sake. Where did he get so much wisdom? Based on that explosion alone, he probably had more mana than himself even though he was a healer.
The skill of evasion was also just pure nonsense, according to him. The speed is quite strong, combined with its speed makes it much faster than anyone in the entire tutorial.
But what was even more shocking was how he disappeared as he fled. The scouts had chased after the man who was about to die but failed to return with anything. He had lost him near a dome or a giant barrier.
After Jake flees, he tries to solve the problem with Jacob, but his first attempt backfires when he tries to feign innocence, acting like he doesn't know his plans. Jacob was not stupid and looked at it quickly.
In retrospect, it was foolish enough to act foolishly, given how he had fought and clearly coordinated with the others. His little attempt to back down a bit and claim that he had been fooled and was only aiming to catch his former comrade was also unsuccessful.
All of that resulted in Jacob ignoring her and even moving into Bertram's cabin for now. It was a small job that the man built for himself with his profession and was far worse than his profession and Jacob today.
He still believes everything can be smoothed out. Their relationship will not break because one person comes between them. They will come out stronger on the other side and closer than ever before.
It's not like everything's bad either. Sure, Jake escapes, but they catch Hayden. Her troubled ex-partner has managed to poison her before she escapes leaving the man in a pretty precarious situation when he finds himself surrounded by Caroline, Richard, and, and many other powerful warriors from their factions.
He had fought back but had fallen easily. Poisoned and in a weakened condition after using his extremely powerful spear attack, he was stabbed from behind by Richard. They even managed to defeat some of the people Hayden had brought along.
They had indeed failed to kill second commander Hayden, a powerful light mage and one who managed to make them all invisible for the ambush, but they remained satisfied.
The war went well again, but this time it was different. Hayden is dead, and the other base leadership structures are in disarray. They even had some people switch sides since the fight.
Richard was preparing an attack to end another faction once and for all, giving him complete control over the only camp left in the tutorial. The attack would be sooner rather than later, not giving the other party enough time to reset, but just enough time for those who wanted to defect to do so.
Caroline comforted herself a little as she walked back to the other crafters. They did not like what had happened but did not protest much either. Most of them do not really speak up but still do not talk about it because they have chosen to focus on their profession, especially from the desire to avoid violence if it does not permeate this tutorial.
On his way to another tailor, he sees Smith doing his job. One of the few strong fighters who refused to participate in the fight because he wanted to focus on crafting. With him was another who was absent. William.
The boy had only returned a few hours ago out of nowhere, and after complaining a little for losing the fight, started smithing. He seems still a little angry at not getting a reply from Jake, but instead, he seems quite calm.
However, if you asked William, he wouldn't describe himself as just "a little crazy". She's upset. How unlucky is he? In just a few hours he had missed the fight. Worse, they even failed to kill him, which meant he was still out there.
William also realized now that he no longer needed to wear his mask. Jacob had given him a dirty look, clearly showing that he knew, and of course, his new partner, Richard, knew. He had already asked William to join him in the attack on the enemy base, which he would happily follow.
In just a few hours, their attack would begin. The whole tutorial will be involved if someone does not count Jake.
The two factions have done an excellent job of gathering everyone. The whole "together with us or against us" mentality has done wonders to force the sole survivor or the smaller group to pick a side or get caught in the crossfire. Only a freak like Jake can survive that.
As he was doing his job in the workshop, Smith approached him.
“How are you doing, Son?” he asked as he stroked his beard, making William wonder how it had not burned.
"Alright, just a little upset they don't understand that Jake is all," William replied with a fake smile.
With a nod, the man smiled back. “Close with me to my inn for a moment. I have something to talk to you about.”
William, slightly surprised, involuntarily nodded his head. It's freaky. But William is not afraid of anything happening because he is more than confident in self-defense.
As they walked, William could not help but ask. "So ... what is this about?"
"Just a discussion about the future" said the man somewhat indifferently. "We have to talk in private."
Increasingly suspicious, William kept up. He was pretty sure Smith had a hunch about his true nature .. but if he did, why would he ask him to meet in person?
Is this perhaps too risky? Should he try and secretly get the man out of the base with him and dump him quietly somewhere?
No, it will only make it seem more suspicious. Richard wouldn't like it. He can't do such a stupid thing. Haven't.
Entering the cabin with the bearded man, William closed the door behind him as he asked. "So?"
"Patience," said Smith, taking out a small metal disk from behind his clothes. "No one wants to listen now, right?"
As he said that, a blue light emanated from the disc as William immediately jumped back and prepared to fight. However, nothing else happened as the light spread to the walls of the cabin as it left a faint blue luster on them.
As William looked around, the walls, floor and roof were also now covered in a layer of blue film.
“No need to panic; it's just a sound insulation barrier, ” the man said as he sat on one of the chairs. "In this way, not a single word or whichever blob comes out."
"How did you do it?" William asked while narrowing his eyes, still ready to attack at any moment.
“The skills given by my profession make me able to make such small accessories. Didn't make this one until yesterday, ” Smith said with a small laugh.
“Back to my original question. What do you want to say? And why do you need this barrier to say it? William asked.
"Oh, this barrier to me is the same as for you," he laughed again. "We both have secrets no one else wants to know."
William, who was now completely convinced that this man was chasing him, prepared to strike just as he started talking again.
"And the reason I asked to talk to you is because of our same acquaintance" he said, smiling broadly.
Richard's? No... Jake? Not a match either, William thought before asking. “Oh, then who is this mysterious person?”
"It's not human" Smith replied, "god."
