The Primal Hunter's

The Primal Hunter's
The Malefic Viper

A piece of paper floated in the air as if a small rope was tied to it. It was slow as it meandered out the door, avoiding obstacles in the way. It finally floated into another room before landing on the palm, as small cheers rang out.

Jake could barely hold back his laughter as he finally succeeded in his practice. He had made it a habit to do this kind of exercise every day, following the advice of the Malefic Viper.

Through anywhere, he managed to lift and manipulate physical objects. It doesn't seem like much, but for Jake, it's huge. Through sheer mana manipulation, he managed to make a small mooring or rope which he then attached to the paper. It was extremely weak, no more durable than a thread of spider silk. But it's something.

He has hit the book hard on which aspects and how to use it and found many things.

Mana, however, is a natural force found throughout the multiverse. It is known as one of the top three major energy sources. Health Points are also known as vital energy, Stamina, inner energy, similar to martial artists in legends.

Where, on the other hand, is worldly energy. It is the energy used to form the elements, the laws of the universe itself.

One may be led to believe that one of these energies is superior, but that assumption is false. In many ways, mana is just another form of stamina, stamina, another health status, and so on and so forth. One type of energy can be transformed into another.

The herb is probably the simplest example of this occurrence. In making a health herb, only mana is spent, but it directly recovers the health points when consumed, which does not mean that the health herb is a thawed life energy. While the ingredients did contain some life energy, most of the ingredients were still where the original crafters were. Where it will be changed, with the entire potion put together by the system of the bastards.

Moreover, some creatures only had stamina, some only mana, and some did not even have health points. An example is a race known as a robot. According to the book, robots are a race of powerful mechanical beings who only have mana to keep their bodies running.

Another example of a strange race was a plant that he often made alchemy. Some plants have the power to evolve and gain levels and feelings, the most powerful even achieving intelligence. This plant-like life form very often lacks stamina but only has health and mana.

The statistics naturally also change according to race. The names of these statistics vary and often have functions similar to those of humans, but some also change significantly. Having nine different stats like Jake is also not a necessity. Some have less, and some have more.

But the bottom line is that all the resources a person has can, through certain methods, achieve most of what all others can achieve. There was no book detailing such a method, making it extremely vague.

During the two weeks since the meeting with her new snake friend, she gains a better understanding of why the Malefic Viper told her to focus on where. It was very helpful in seizing it, and his training had almost achieved results.

Looking at the timer, he took a deep breath.

Heal yourself from poison 0/1

Time remaining: 23:58:42

Less than a day left. The thought that he could die in less than a day was rather strange. For almost a month, he had not felt anything from the poison.

But the progress is impressive. In fact, impressive is an understatement. About two weeks had allowed him to grind more alchemy than before. He has leveled up and leveled up, which even earned him his first "true" race evolution at the age of 25.

Evolution is as he expected. It came with a prompt that told him: "yay, you made it to 25, this is just the first step, move on, buddy!"

There was also a bit of fanfare during evolution itself. Nothing special happened; he had just appeared in the middle of the strange universe again. There he waited, admiring the density of mana that was completely insane, before being returned to his bed.

It's not that he complains about evolution and what comes with it. The first is an increase in stat gain.

Man (E) – A man confidently climbs the evolutionary ladder. The human race is known to be one of the most balanced and most numerous multiverse races, capable of walking on many different paths on their path to power. Stat bonus per level: +2 for all stats, +5 Points for free

What's a little different is that evolution actually comes with a skill.

[Meditation (General)] – Enter a state of meditation, stop the outside world. When meditating, stamina regeneration and mana are significantly faster. While meditating, no other action can be taken, and your perception of the outside world is greatly reduced.

Meditation is very similar to sleep. Once one entered it, all one's senses would be silenced into nothingness. One cannot smell anything, hear anything, or see anything. Only the feeling of touch remains for most people.

Jake is a little different. All of his senses were completely severed like everyone else. Not affected at all. This meant that he could meditate without being completely helpless. But more importantly, it meant that he could continue to practice mana manipulation within his scope.

And oh, speaking of his lineage, it also evolved with him.

[Primal Hunter Bloodline (Blood Line Capability - Unique)] – Inactive power lies in the essence of your being. A unique innate ability that awakens in a newly initiated human lineage, Jake Thayne. Enhances innate instincts. Improving your ability to understand your environment. Improving hazard perception. +15% for perception.

5% added. Jake can't detect anything but that. Not because he complained.

On the leveling side of the profession, he, of course, got a lot as well. His job had allowed him to reach level 43, gaining a little more than an average level a day. It didn't seem like much, considering he completed the first 25 in less than two weeks, and that also included more research through books and he learned the basics of alchemy.

But one must remember that leveling becomes more challenging with each level gained. So for him to keep up a good pace, in Jake's own opinion, is quite.

Aside from the terrible joke, through leveling up, he naturally also gained more skills. Unfortunately the rate at which he got them has decreased. Now only every tenth level.

At least the first skill came at level 30. Jake has been offered five new skills, and all of them........ a bit fanatical?

Just by checking one of his skills alone had made his spine goosebumps.

[Sermon (Rare)] – As a humble servant, your Protective will is your privilege to spread. Allowing the alchemist to spread the sacred words of the Malefic Viper. Makes the alchemist seem more trustworthy when talking to others about the Malefic Viper. May his words become law. Adding a slight increase to the effectiveness of the Sermon based on willpower.

Yeah, fuck 'em, was his first thought after checking it out. The other four were no better either. One of them is literally related to sacrificing people.

Lucky for him, he had learned something valuable from the Viper that he could apply at the moment. It was common knowledge that two closely related skills could fuse together, so he chose Sense Herb.

[Sense Herb (Common)] – Provides a passive ability to detect herbs and a rough feeling of their properties. After all, an alchemist should be able to find ingredients to make his product. Adding a slight increase in the effectiveness of Herb Sense based on perception.

Once plucked, nothing happens. Jake feels the instinctive knowledge starting to enter his mind, the thought of the Malefic Viper that might have trapped him happening to him just a moment before another notice comes. Tell him about the two skills that are meant to fuse, as new skills emerge.

[Sense of the Malefic Viper (Rare)] – Combining Herb Sense and Poison Sense skills, Outstanding Alchemist from Malefic Viper has earned Sense of the Malefic Viper. The Malefic Viper looked for many natural treasures on its path to power; it was natural to learn to feel them. Provides a passive ability to detect herbs and toxins in various forms and a rough feeling of their nature. Allows you to feel far more of the poison you have inflicted on others. Added a slight increase in the effectiveness of Sense of the Malefic Viper based on perception.

With the two skills fused together, he gained a more useful skill. He wasn't sure if it could taste herbs and poisons equally well, and his testing so far wasn't conclusive. However, the fact that it now allowed him to sense the poison he had given others would likely be very useful.

Jake was rather surprised that the mix was not mentioned in any of the books. Those were the two basic skills for the Alchemist of the Malefic Viper, so it was noted it would not be out of place. Jake has a sneaking suspicion that the system has somehow erased this information, or maybe his skills haven't fused like that in the past?

It was not that the books did not have any real examples of skills, items, and even ways of unlocking new evolutions. It must be said that the information is not so much about skill and evolution, because everything can only be summarized into one word: Note.

But his skill improvement did not end there. Ten levels later, at the age of 40, he got this second chance to get it. He half-expected to once again be disappointed by the choice that tried to make him a cult but was instead shocked. Very surprised.

[Blood of the Malefic Viper (Epic)] – Blood Malefic Viper is a more deadly poison than most poisons. Allowing the Overwhelming Alchemists of the Malefic Viper to turn their blood into poison, imitating their Protectors. Blood can be used as an ingredient in alchemy and as a deadly weapon against your enemies. The nature of the poison is determined based on the Alchemist Records. Blood toxicity levels are based primarily on vitality and wisdom but receive an increase from all physical statistics.

It was his first epic rarity skill and one that was exciting at the time. He estimated Epic to be a level above Rare primarily because of videogames.

The skill itself is very good. It's a little disturbing to think of your blood turning into a deadly poison, but Jake is somewhat relieved to know that it's not a passive ability. He had to actively channel mana according to the skill into his blood, and with that, it would turn into poison.

Using Identification on the poisonous blood did not produce any results, but he could clearly feel it differently. His new Sense of the Malefic Viper gave him a good idea of how different it was from ordinary blood. The poison was among the top grade lower grade poison he made and the weaker general grade poison.

He had yet to have a chance to test the nature of his poison, so he kept it for later. Of course, blood could not only be used as a weapon, but also in alchemy.

At first, he did not think that his blood as an ingredient would have any use. Turns out he was wrong about it. Its blood is an excellent catalyst, especially in conjunction with blue mushrooms. Just adding a little to the mixture also makes mana injection much more convenient, as he actually adds a little of himself.

This gives Jake new confidence in his plan to complete the dungeon challenge, and he has worked tirelessly for the last two, almost three days since he gained the skill.

He had found recipes for potions and even poisons that could cure poisons and had even made couples with lower levels of rarity to practice. Still, he was unsure about its effectiveness on anything that had infected him.

His plan would not have worked a few weeks ago, but he has confidence with his newly improved stats. Speaking of his status, it had gone through a metamorphosis with him.

His stats naturally increased greatly along with his level. Especially his vitality and wisdom had grown tremendously. As for the free points, he had mainly chosen to distribute them between perception and wisdom but had recently also put some into vitality and toughness. The way he cured himself of the poison would most likely make him quite durable. He even found that his status exploration was not enough.

For example, Jake discovers that he can come up with how he's distributing his free points if he wants to.

Free points distribution:

Strength: 1

Agility: 1

Durability: 1

Vitality: 21

Toughness: 22

Wisdom: 100

Intelligence: 0

Perception: 100

Willingness: 0

Total Distributed: 246

Some perfectionist part of him cannot help but bring his wisdom and perception to 100 each. The percentage increase also really starts to show its value.

The most important thing on this entire screen, for some reason, is parentheses. Looking down at his arm, he somewhat forgot that he was wearing the bracelet at all times. They had become a part of him now, and he had only taken them off while he bathed, even wearing them while he slept. Those 3 strengths and 5 agility were definitely useful.

This screen also shows the amplifier power percentage. Jake gets a total of 195 statistics out of percentages. His wisdom has increased by 52.

He also found that, unfortunately, the item was not affected by the percentage booster.

Closing all the various windows, he immediately returned to work, after completing his mana control training. He doubted he would have time to train further before he got out of here.

His plan to heal himself was relatively simple, to be honest. Concocting poison to kill other poisons.

Over the past few days, he had finally begun to be able to sense what was infecting him. With each second moving him closer, he could feel it more and more. It feels strong yet smooth. But more importantly, it feels much more magical than physical. Narrowing down what kind of poison should be possible if he had more time, but unfortunately he did not.

With the Blood of the Malefic Viper, his plans changed slightly. His goal was still poison killer with the poison approach, but now he would actively use his own blood and harmonize 'healing' with his own body.

On the herb side, the main ingredient was the silver mushroom of the first challenge room.

[Frame Argentum Vitae (Frare)] – Silver mushrooms only grow in places with very high mana density. Mushrooms have a sturdy exterior, which if broken, indicates the actual fungus inside. This type of mushroom juice is usually very toxic, but this mushroom has evolved to bring life. +1 vitality when consumed.

His highly toxic blood would be used as a substitute for water. The rare old moss, where he had used the Cultivate Toxin skill every day for the past two weeks, was supplemented with concentrated juice from the blue mushroom, which he had also cultivated.

The Argentum Vitae mushroom will then be the last ingredient. The vitality within it was extremely powerful and would add a powerful life energy to the potion. The creation will be volatile and need to be consumed as soon as it is finished based on all its considerations.

He would consume the creation just before the poison lit up. Two explosions of extreme toxicity would then damage his entire body, one of which was an enormous death, and the other poison which contained extremely powerful life energy.

If everything went as he expected, the two of them would cancel each other out while his powerful body put it all together.

Which was also the reason he invested some points into toughness and vitality. He had a severe worry if his body could handle the sudden flow of energy.

The plan was a bit stupid and very sloppy, of course, but despite the danger, Jake was looking forward to it. There was also a part of him that was a little greedy. If he consumed ten mushrooms as they were, he would gain 10 vitality. But if he could achieve some sort of synergy, he should be able to earn even more.

Jake believes it will work, and if it doesn't, yes, Jake will act on his own accord.
