The Primal Hunter's

The Primal Hunter's
Idiots

A few hours earlier, when it was still early morning, the base was in full motion. The blacksmiths worked overtime, the tailors did the final job, and all the soldiers prepared their weapons and prepared themselves to make sure all their resources were fully charged.

The order given was to march towards Hayden's now deceased headquarters just minutes from now. They all expected the order to come sooner or later, but it came a little earlier than most people expected.

As for Richard himself, he was currently in a large cabin that served as his headquarters headquarters. With her is Caroline and three other influential members of her team. Particularly absent from the usual group of leaders is Jacob, who has not softened after Jake's entire disaster.

Richard wasn't too pushy. They still had more than three weeks left, and despite being angry, Jacob always did his job. Not with pleasure, but he did. His sense of responsibility seemed to defeat his anger.

Looking around at the other leaders in the camp, he was quite satisfied with himself. He had chosen to have a leader from every early class present as if to represent their faction. Caroline was naturally a representative of the smallest group, the healers. Soldiers had been bundled into one, Richard took over all of them, while the other three were an archer in Scout, a caster who had just been replaced by William, and Joanna represented the craftsmen and craftsmen of women.

His desire to conquer Hayden's headquarters is still in question today. Especially by the middle-aged woman who saw everything as a completely unnecessary bloodbath.

Richard believed that the light-caster, and former second commander, of the remnants of the enemy faction still wanted to fight. The casters likely thought that Richard would not risk storming their somewhat fortified headquarters, even with their superiority in numbers. It was illogical and unnecessary, as the female craftsman had said.

He would agree, if not for the small details.

Quest Tutorial: A Leader has been born

Objective: Become a single leader of at least 90% of other humans during the tutorial.

Current progress: 57%

Eliminate other leaders: 1/1

Search was obtained on the second day of the tutorial. Even before he set up his camp properly. He was surprised by the notice, but at the same time excited.

There was no way such a quest would not appreciate something valuable. Of course, the only obstacle that was blocking him was Hayden. A man who, as indicated by the quest objective, also has the same quest as himself. Or at least the man had also been recognized by the system as the leader of the faction.

The goal is certainly not a little 90%. He wanted to complete the quest with a 100% completion rate%. The search clearly says "at least 90%" which indicates a reward for having more. Bonus he will gladly claim.

All he needs now is to exterminate the remains of Hayden's thugs and then hunt down Jake's troublesome archers, along with other lost people. Hitting every dissident within his own faction should also not be a problem.

Looking around, he looked at everyone as his skill made him aware of their loyalty. Many of the recent flaws of Hayden's stronghold have not been considered loyal enough, but that was foreseen.

Richard was also annoyed to see William, the fool, no longer considered loyal. However, he joined their attack, so everything was fine. He will use the teenager to eliminate his enemies and then bring them down.

After ending their meeting, and William confirmed his tactics, the five men came out of the cabin as everyone except the craftswoman went towards the gate.

“Listen, people!” he shouted as he walked to the center of the camp and stopped. “Hayden is dead, but his people remain, and I fear they thirst for revenge. We have given them a chance to retreat, but they refused! Tell me, are we going to let them really start the war again!?”

"NO!" he heard some shouts from the group - the people he planted himself, along with a few others.

"Just right!" he continued. “We must destroy them before they gather and attack! Show them that we are not afraid!”

Cheers rang out as he smiled in satisfaction. It was just a stupid act, but it always managed to build morale and cohesion.

More and more people came to the center of the base, as nearly 200 people stood in front of him. Some of them were not warriors but only came to send their friends, but most were there to join him in his conquest.

Looking at the figure in front, the soldier smiled at himself - a young man with blond hair and keen blue eyes.

"William, I'm glad to see you join us" he said, smiling at the teenager.

He was not afraid of William. Not one bit. The young man had shown himself a fraud and powerful. But he did not show himself to be stupid or too stupid; he had to know that Richard would only give him an advantage. He couldn't imagine the casters turning it on anytime soon. Purely from a pragmatic point of view, then Richard was well-liked in the battles to come, and for William to try anything would be foolish.

"Will Smith be joining us too?" Richard asked while looking around.

"Sorry, partner, he's not a fan of things like this" William replied with a cheerful laugh. "You know that old man cares more about blacksmiths than anything else in this world."

"Unfortunately, the hammer will definitely be well received" Richard said regretfully. Smith would be a great asset, but then again, it might be good to leave him. He was one of those unfaithful subjects Richard would change or eliminate in time.

"But we have you here, so be sure to show us what it's made of, my friend" Richard laughed as he patted the young man on the shoulder. Feeling the metal under the cloak surprised Richard a little, but he did not think about it any further. After all, he was a castor focused on metal.

William maintained his fake cheerful smile while he inwardly sneered - sneered, and seethed in anger. Who the hell does he think he calls me friend? That's just for Herrmann to do!

Suppressing her emotions, something she never believed she would ever do, she follows the rest of the band as they make their way to Hayden's old camp. William learned from the trip that the name of the light caster was Desmond. A soldier who works under Hayden, who has shown himself during a tutorial.

Many defectors are happy to share every little piece of information they can. Although no one knew it for sure, most likely some of these people were the ones behind the atrocities committed against their faction.

With that in mind, Richard believed that they were doing this to get the other leaders as quickly as possible in his favor, which was also why almost all of them joined this attack. Moreover, it gave him an excellent reason to throw them all forward.

William doesn't care either. Which faction you follow is irrelevant. Today would be a massacre, with William happily taking on the role of butcher. And he wasn't picky about what to put on his talent.

Less than an hour later, they finally stood within sight of the wall erected by Hayden and his colleagues. Walking closer, they stopped only about 20 meters from the gate, when they heard shouts and confusion from behind the wall. They are not really subtle in their approach.

"MAKE YOU A COWARD, GET OUT OF HERE!" Richard shouted as his voice boomed. Volume is well above what humans can do before the system.

There was no response from the base, but some people peered over the wall in shock and horror. After only ten seconds or so, Richard's thin patience was spent as he opened his mouth once more.

"If you don't go out" he said as he walked towards the wooden gate, "then I'm in!"

Lifting his tower shield, he pushed it forward as a shockwave shot out from the shield, easily shattering the fragile wooden gate from its hinges.

What met him was a beam of light, followed by another series of spells as they bombarded Richard along with other warriors to his side.

"COVE IT UP!" he shouted as they all raised their shields. Blue barriers appeared and enlarged in front of their shields, making an impenetrable wall, easily blocking all spells and arrows.

"FORWARD!" shouted the next soldier, as they all started marching forward in formation.

Some spells were cast in the other direction, but the other party kept retreating as they were clearly focused on defense rather than offense.

Richard was confused by the answer. It seems chaotic and sporadic. But he wasn't too worried when he saw Desmond's unique robe among the retreating people. His caster was also clearly shooting rays of light here and there, although he seemed to be doing a somewhat half-and-a-half job as his spell was on the weaker side.

His progress was slow but steady, as Richard happily let the other party waste their mana. The shield that was currently used by him and the other heavy warriors was a skill that they all learned at level 20. The shield hardly consumes any stamina to stay active after use.

Everything went much better as expected, although Richard was surprised by the lack of people. There were probably 40 people in front of him, although Desmond should have had more than a hundred people. Do many people leave or flee into the forest? Or the…

Before his mind could go any further, he heard an explosion from behind, followed by screams of pain and panic.

Shit, thought Richard, as he turned around. What the hell's going on?

What Richard did not know was that the man he was currently suppressing was not Desmond.

Desmond was neither stupid nor careless. Hayden was never the brain of their surgery, especially after his son died. He was overly emotional and spontaneous, which is why Desmond took over most of their planning and management.

That was also why he had it easier to unite the remaining survivors from their camp. Much faster than Richard predicted.

From behind the invading forces, the forest glittered as dozens of people were revealed. Ironically, Richard is hit by the same trap he used to fight Jake.

Simultaneously, the plants that Richard regarded as deserters turned towards the weaker castors as they charged towards them.

Sandwiched between the two powers, and with Richard having pushed along with a group of soldiers and other elites, the mediocre warriors begin a desperate struggle as they are besieged on all sides.

Although he had completely underestimated the enemy, Richard was not too stooped, as he quickly mobilized back his men as they charged backwards once more to deal with the so-called 'deserters'.

Chaotic battles ensued as the groups began to clash and mix. Richard had a problem trying to return to Desmond because he had a mix of allies and enemies between the two of them, all of whom were fighting desperately.

It must be said that the majority of survivors were just fillers, people who barely managed to get a first-class evolution, even some had none at all. Most only had basic evolution, not giving them much power at all.

This meant that truly strong individuals who gained a stronger class easily distinguished themselves.

A caster with a stone stick shoots nail after nail into the mob, killing Richard's men one by one. However, he soon met his end when the flaming red arrow shot out with Powershot burst out from his head, destroying the mana barrier he had built in a hurry.

The one who fired it, Scout, didn't have an easy time either, because he was split in half by a two-handed sword as it descended from a warrior surrounded by a strange energy that gave off a deadly feeling. A warrior who soon finds himself at the other end of a barrage of spells, shreds him.

Individual Strength sets you apart, and naturally also makes you an obvious target.

But not everything that stands out like that falls. What was truly incredible, despite the many attacks coming, managed to win. Richard simply ignored most of the attacks or blocked them as he confidently rushed towards his enemies. Desmond also quickly blocked long-range attacks with a light barrier or dodged with abilities similar to Jake's Shadow Vault.

Caroline easily defended herself as several transparent barriers swirled around her. Other prominent people were also around, like the former light warriors, who were now wandering among the castors, slashing at them one by one.

Not everyone has as high vitality and toughness as Jake or as powerful defensive techniques as Richard and Caroline. Most were also accustomed to fighting in close-knit teams, using coordination and planning to defeat ferocious beasts and other enemies.

This battle, however, was not one of planning or deliberation. It was a senseless massacre, in which cohesion and teamwork lost all meaning. The number of former allies cut down by their friends was not just one or two, as huge spells were thrown among the crowd.

Death piled up as the smell of blood seeped into the peaceful-looking forest. The number of survivors dropped every second, as the weaker survivors quickly thinned out by the stronger ones. Casters are naturally the most vulnerable because they are the class with the lowest defensive ability.

The archers did a little better due to their high agility as many of them fled to the outer area of the battlefield, taking positions to shoot from there.

Healers are few and far between, but those around manage to achieve the closest thing to teamwork. With warriors on all sides, Caroline, for example, easily kept herself and the soldiers around her safe. Even looking for time to help Richard and a few others here and there.

Soldiers were the ones who shone the most in this mess. Close combat was their natural element; as they slashed and smashed with their weapons at anything they designated an enemy.

All the hatred that had been suppressed by trapping Jake now returned wholeheartedly. Anger and brutality are revived with more power than ever. Hardly anyone likes to 'play well', and now they can finally let go.

Soon less than fifty people were left as the battle slowed down. On one side stood Richard and over 30 others, all but a few covered in blood and gore from the brutal slaughter.

On the other side stood the pale-looking Desmond, with the soldier holding the rapier by his side. The soldier did not look too good either, as the visible wounds were clearly all over his body.

Not that Richard and the dozen fighters by his side escaped without punishment. But they have an advantage that no other party has. Only one healer remains, likely in the entire tutorial: Caroline. The passive aura given to all the healers and his powerful skills from his class above level 40 replenished their sides.

"Give up, Desmond, and you may still be alive" Richard said, smiling viciously. The result is clear, and he is the winner.

At a glance looking at the number of survivors, the frequency is getting wider.

Total Remaining Victims: 108/1200

He knew that everyone who was not here had to return to his base based on a quick count.

"Just end it quickly" said the caster with a sad smile, looking somewhere or at someone behind Richard.

"It's with pleasure" Richard said as he walked forward, preparing to stab the man.

Instead, he was greeted with a burst of light as the ground shook. When the light went out, all that was left was the body of the light mage, along with some of his dead comrades surrounding him.

And of course, Richard, who was standing with a transparent barrier in front of him, with Caroline right behind, had his hands raised as he channeled his spell.

"Fucking idiot," Richard chuckled as he walked towards the now even more wounded soldier who had dropped his rapier.

"I agree," a voice said as the barrier in front of Richard shattered. Turning in shock, she looked at Caroline with wide eyes as a spear pierced her heart from behind. Worse, everything around the wound began to slowly turn into metal as his body looked like it was rusting.

"WILLIAM ANYTHING!?" shouted Richard. Metal that looked like steel or perhaps silver covered the entire body of the young man except for his face as he stood there. His silly smile was gone, and the degree of hatred in his gaze that Richard had no idea he could even show.

Instead of answering, William simply repeated Richard's own sentiment: "You're all completely idiots."
