Initiation of 93rd Universe confirmed. Order introduction commenced*
*Welcome to introductions. Prepare…*
As Jake opens his eyes, he is once again greeted by a voice that welcomes him with? And something is preparing? What the hell's going on?
A few seconds passed, and even though his eyes were open, he only saw complete darkness. His entire body felt numb, and the only thing he could feel was a creeping headache. He tried to open his mouth but to no avail, as he began to panic internally. Was she abducted by aliens? As his mind began to spin, the voice suddenly sounded again.
*Preparation completed. Start introductions*
Light filled his eyes as he was temporarily blinded by what looked like a huge spotlight shining on his face. As his eyes slowly adjusted, so did the feeling on his limbs return. He found himself looking down at his feet, watching himself sitting on a chair. As he slowly looked up, he found someone sitting opposite him with a table placed in between.
The room itself reminds Jake of an interrogation room with two chairs, a table in a small enclosed space, blocking a two-way window. Another difference is how clean everything is. The walls and floors were white, the table was white, the seats were white, and although there was no clear light source, the entire room was somehow still well lit.
"Hello?" Jake carefully asked .. the person opposite him. At first glance he looked like a human but lacked any visible features. Bald head, completely white eyes without pupils, and chest that looks too flat and not detailed to look natural. There was not a single strand of hair visible on his body, and although he was unable to see due to the table, he had this creeping suspicion ... that thing doesn't have anything down there either. When his internal judgment was complete, the "man" opened his mouth.
“Greetings, human. I'm watching your introductions. In this introduction, I'll explain to you your new state of reality, ” nouns with sounds that sound synthesized by bringing together a group of male and female voices. Just as he was about to open his mouth to answer, the mouth began to speak again.
“First of all, allow me to welcome you to a new chapter in your life. Your universe has finally crossed the minimum threshold required to enter the multiverse and thus has begun. Now, do you have any questions before we move on to subjects related to the tutorial?” it's finally done.
Jakes's mind is fucked. The multiverse? What threshold is crossed? What does this mean for a new chapter? But instead of this actually meaningful question, he asked the most mundane:
"Who, no, what are you?" his words, stumbling over his words.
"I'm the entity responsible for greeting you and introducing you to a new world, and your new state of reality" He replied immediately, making no indication to explain further.
“What new reality?” ask Jaka.
“Reality referred to by the first enlightened race as 'System',” he explained.
"How do I see this sys ..." Before he managed to finish his words, a screen suddenly appeared before his eyes:
Status
Name: Jake Thayne

Profession: T/A

Which Points (MP): 80/80

Durability: 7

Toughness: 7

Headings
T/A
Well, that answers that question, Jake thought. He began to form an idea in his mind of what was going on and decided to follow it. He somewhat got the impression that this might just be a strange lucid dream, so he saw no reason not to comfort himself in the slightest. So first of all, he did what he thought was fun and started to analyze the statistics.
So, nine different stats, on the range of 6-10 points in each ... The statistics are perfectly balanced, with only willpower and perception prominent. Does that determination at just 6 indicate that he has a weak will? Or 6 even low for someone in the situation?
The race says human, that part is pretty obvious, but what does 'G' mean'? And he seems to be a level 0 human. And he doesn't seem to have any class or profession. Although he would declare himself an upper middle class, with his profession as a financial consultant, he doubted what the system meant by both.
There is no degree either, and health and where is at 90 and 80, led to his assumption that it was based on one of his statistics, by a factor of 10. Vitality became the only status in the 9, leading him to conclude that it was a health-determining stat. Which is a bit more difficult, being at 80, with Wisdom and Intelligence at 8, one of two possible determinants. Stamina was at 70, which after the previous reduction, meant it was related to Strength or Resilience, Resilience was where he would put his money.
He tried to focus on different elements on the screen, seemingly to no avail. It just tells him that strength means strength, and that class means class... However, as he tried to focus on his race, it paid off:
Human (G) – Lowest level of human in the system. This type is only found in a world that is just beginning. The human race is known to be one of the most balanced and most numerous among the various races in the multiverse, capable of walking many different paths on their path to power. Statistical bonus per level: +1 for all stats. +1 points free.
Thank you for calling me the lowest level human, I guess? think Jake. The description confirms more races are out there, and also that more humans are out there in the so-called multiverse.
He slightly fiddled with the menu, trying almost everything he could before he saw that strange human-like object again.
“Hey, may I ask about the statistical difference on the status screen and its effect? What are the statistical differences associated with health points like, or if there is a link at all?” She asked.
“May I ask how I should get classes and professions? It mentioned the level here, how to level up? What does 'G' mean after my race? Also, why am I here to start? Where did the others go?” he asked, sounding a bit arrogant. Instead of him blaming himself, this situation was without a doubt the strangest he had ever experienced.
“Your class is selected upon entering the tutorial. This class will be the starting point of your journey and help guide your path. A profession becomes available through the execution of tasks related to that profession, either for a considerable period of time or through competence in those tasks. Classes are focused on the pursuit of strength, while professions are pathways of creativity, rarely offering immediate power-ups. You level up through various actions. 'G' after the race You declare your current race rank. You are here because you entered the introduction. By "other people," I will conclude that you mean the inhabitants of other earths and say the inhabitants of other earths now also in their respective introductions, "That briefly explains, does not give much detail, does not give much detail, but at least give Jake a much better idea of what's going on.
"Now to class," the noun was unsolicited.
Before he could even open his mouth, he was interrupted by a screen that appeared before him, showing a wall of text that was quite a lot. He quickly calmed down and started taking classes one by one:
Warrior (Light) – Basic starting class. Lightweight warriors who focused on quick attacks, evasion, and skill. Although it is faster than medium and heavy variants, it comes with a decrease in attack power and survivability. Especially using weapons such as rapiers, daggers, small axes, and throwing weapons. Bonus Stat: +2 Agi, +1 End, +1 Str, +1 Vit, +1 Points free.
The first class seems to be light-class warriors, perhaps something like a bastard? Did mention daggers and throwing weapons. This was a little interesting to him, although he was somewhat reluctant to be the one to fight closely and personally. He did choose archery and not fencing.
Warrior (Medium) – Basic starting class. A middle-class warrior, focused on a balanced approach to combat, finds a compromise between speed and strength. Although it was faster than the heavy variant, it was slower than light-class warriors. While its survivability and strength were higher than the light-class variants, it was inferior to the heavyweight warriors. Able to use a variety of weapons both heavy and light variants. Bonus Stat per level: +1 Agi, +1 End, +1 Vit, +1 Str +1 Tough, +1 Points Free
The second looked like a choice to be made if they wanted to become a warrior but did not know which direction to specialize in. Although it may be that it provides some versatility.
Warrior (Weight) – Basic starting class. Heavyweight warriors, focusing on strength and survivability while sacrificing speed and variety. Heavy warriors were slower with a less varied approach than the light and middle classes, but in turn, gained great strength and survivability. Mainly use weapons such as one-handed combos and shields or two-handed weapons. Generally do not have a solid remote option. Stat bonus per level: +2 Str, +1 Tough +1 Vit, +1 End, +1 Points Free.
The choice of fat men from the warrior archetype. Big and heavy, in his mind was wearing full plate armor and a large tower shield. Or maybe a super-muscular bare-bearded Viking with a big axe? Yeah, he can't see himself being one of them.
Archer – Basic starting class. Classes that focus on long-distance combat, mainly using bows and arrows, coupled with lightweight options for close range such as short swords and daggers. Classes are fast and flexible, focusing on agility rather than strength. Stat bonus per level: +2 Per, +1 Agi, +1 End, +1 Str, +1 Points Free
Well, here it is. Without further surprises at the bottom of the list, this seems like the most interesting option so far. Ignoring the light option for close range, if he had to fight in any way, which he suspected he should do, he would, without a doubt, prefer to do it with a bow.
Caster – Basic starting class. The caster focuses on magical combat, preferring wisdom and knowledge over power and speed. The base classes are not aligned, meaning they have not specialized in any element or type of magic, so they are limited in strength, but they are broad in scope. Casters use powerful destructive abilities, though often lacking in defensive options. Classes primarily use catalysts such as sticks, idols, relics, or magic staffs to amplify magic power. Stat bonus per level: +2 Int, +1 Wis, +1 Will, +1 Per, +1 Free Points.
Well, this, if not everything before, ensures that magic is the real thing. While the concept of being a badass that throws fire and can bend lightning does sound interesting, he actually prefers to bend.
Healer – Basic starting class. Healers can heal wounds, relieve suffering, and strengthen the strength of themselves and/or their associates. The base classes are not aligned, meaning that they have not specialized in god power or any type of magic, so their power is limited, but they are broad in scope. His class is weak in solo combat, has no offensive options, but is strong when surrounded by allies. Stat bonus per level: +2 Will, +2 Wis, +1 Int, +1 Points Free.
And the last option seems to be a healer. All classes are 'basic starting classes', which means no starting class is specifically mastered. At least not for him. He also noted that all classes provide a total stat increase of 5 per level and one free point. Compared to races, classes seemed to offer more specialized stats, but less overall, even though it was probably just because he was a human. The healing class was not at all attractive to him, even though it had quite an interesting line about the power of gods. Does this imply the existence of the gods? Could you be some kind of pastor in the future, perhaps?
“Hey, can you tell me more about these classes? Any suggestions or tips?” ask Jake, expectantly.
“Your Path is for you to find. Now select the class before we proceed, ”ansiksanya, leaving little room for further discussion.
Realizing he might as well pick the class he had planned all along, Jake chose the Archer class.
You've chosen the Archer class. Confirm it?
It seems like even a strong system is vulnerable to security commands like this, Jake thought while affirming his decision system.
*You have got the Archer* class*
As soon as those words appeared before his eyes, he felt a strange tingling in his head, unpleasant or uncomfortable. At the same time, several items appeared on the table in front of him. Before he could see them any further, he was once again greeted by some system message:
*Gained Skill*: [Basic Archery (Inferior)] – Friend Archer is a bow in his hand, and an arrow in the heart of his enemy. Unlock basic abilities with bows, bows, and add minuscule bonuses to the effects of agility and power when using long-range weapons.
*Gained Skill*: [Basic One-Handed Weapon (Inferior)] – Archers may not be experts in the art of melee combat but are far from helpless. Unlock basic abilities with most one-handed weapons and add a small bonus to the effects of agility and strength when using a snug melee weapon.
*Gained Skill*: [Archers Eye (Common)] – Archer Eyes are trained to track and see the weaknesses of their enemies. Allows archers to more easily see prey. Passively provides a slight increase in the effect of Perception on the visual organs.
As he read the three messages, his suspicions about this new system that is very similar to a videogame or perhaps a table RPG were once again confirmed. All three seem rather basic, especially the two skills that literally have 'basics' in their name. Both of them were only 'inferior' in what he considered to be their rankings. The latter seemed a little more interesting as it was less basic and was even considered a rare skill.
Furthermore, he instinctively knew how the Archer Eyes worked. He tried to focus and suddenly felt his vision become much clearer than before. It seems like she is gradually switching from low quality to Full HD in about 5 seconds or so as she focuses. He looked around, captivated by how different everything seemed. As he deactivated his ability, and his vision returned to normal, he looked at his resources and saw that his stamina had dropped from 70 to 68, with both mana and health remaining at maximum.
He closed the window and looked towards the items on the table. He looked at the thing sitting quietly eerily, and asked: "I consider these things to me?"
"Yes" he answered. “It is basic starting equipment based on your starting grade. Now, to the last step of the introduction. Some needs are given to all new initiates of the system.”
And as he finished those words, Jake was once again greeted by the screen that appeared before him.
*Acquired skills*: [Identify (Inferior)] – Basic identification skills, known to all children except the smallest of various races. This skill allows you to try to identify any object or creature you are focusing on.
A skill that would actually allow him to gain some semblance of information, perhaps? Something he felt he needed. Only more and more questions continue to arise throughout this ordeal of introductions, with little or no answers.
“The time given for the introduction will end in 10 minutes, and you will be taken to the tutorial. It is recommended to get the equipment given before the end of the introduction, or the items will disappear,” he said, leaving Jake a little panicked as he climbed up to pick up the items on the table.
The items included bows and arrows, brown robes, knives, and a small bag tied to a belt. They all looked rather medieval, his bow was made of wood compared to the modern compound bows he used to use, usually made of aluminum and other modern composite materials. The rope itself is made of what looks like silk, perhaps. Honestly, he's not sure.
The robe was of a rather rough material, reminiscent of burlap, but it seemed to be quite durable. The arrow holder is made of wood with leather wrapped around it, and leather straps to wear on the back.
The blade looked as simple as the original and was only a steel blade attached to the wooden handle. The quality of all the items is pretty good, he thinks. Last but not least, he looked at the small bag, and upon opening it, he found several small bottles.
As he wondered what it was, he nearly slapped his own head, recalling his identification skills. He began to focus on one of the bottles containing the red liquid, and after 3-4 seconds, a new screen appeared: the:
[Health Potion (Inferior)] – Restores health when consumed.
What did he expect? As simple as they come. He used Identification on the other items in the bag one by one, finding a total of 3 health herbs, 3 stamina potions that did the exact same thing as health potions, but for stamina. As he closed his bag, he moved on to other items. Bows, knives, and robes did not come to fruition, only telling him that a wooden bow was a wooden bow and a brown robe was a brown robe. With a hint of hope, he inspected the tube, in great surprise:
[Enchanted Quiver (Common)] – A bewitched quiver with the ability to conjure rare arrows when injected with mana.
That must be useful, Jake thought. As he finished his examination, he was once again kindly reminded that he did not have an infinite amount of time.
"Two minutes before the tutorial starts."
Jake, in a hurry, took the robe over his head and began to attach a belt with a bag on it and threw an arrow tube over his shoulder. Fortunately, there were dozens of arrows in it. The belt was also fitted with a small holster, which he immediately placed the knife in, and closed the small leather buckle meant to hold it. Finally, he took the bow in his hand, not having a clear place to attach it to his person. After a bit of thought, he placed it on his shoulder and stood ready for whatever was to come.
"10 seconds to start the tutorial," the humanoid creature reminded him.
"It's nice to meet you, I think, whatever you are" he said, waving his hand. A little scared, but more than that, he felt a hint of excitement piling up in his stomach.
