34. Memory Flakes

Lucas pulls Darren out of the supermarket. Darren's condition that looks not okay makes Lucas decided to take him to the nearest hospital.

"Where? Does it still hurt?" Lucas asked when Darren had been examined by a doctor.

"It's a little bit dull." Replied Darren who looked still a bit pale.

"Where now? Going back to the office or the apartment?"

"We went back to the office, but my condition was a little short."

Darren tried to get up from his sleep, after lying down for a while due to his weak condition.

"Seriously, is your face still pale?"

"Here we go, I really hate the smell of the hospital." Darren complained that he immediately wanted to leave the hospital.

"It's not the first time, is it?" Lucas seems to realize something about Darren's condition that today looks not good.

"What?" Ask Darren back.

"Yes about your current condition."

Darren was silent, his expression as if hinting at not wanting to discuss his health.

"If this is how, how can I give you permission to come to Melbourne later, try?"

It seems that Lucas is a little worried about Darren's condition which today is quite bad, especially not just his head that feels pain.

"I'm going to be just as good." Darren said calmly.

"Nyebelin, I'm serious about it." Pissed Lucas.

"Oh, let's get out of here first, we'll talk about it next time." Cuek Darren stepped in first.

The pain that came at him without permission, had given Darren such a hard pain. The pain that came without knowing that time, sometimes made Darren feel his own difficulties. Moreover, small fragments of her memories during the accident always appeared whenever she felt pain in her head and chest.

There was a face he did not recognize every time the pain attacked him. Either the face of the person who made him an accident or the face of the person who had chased him. His face was only as he saw, and it still looked vague.

"Hmm. I don't know." Darren closed his eyes for a moment in the car and suddenly became excited to discuss it.

At once the atmosphere between Darren and Lucas became cold, because there was no conversation between the two. Darren stared at the window glass and Lucas stayed focused on driving.

"Eh, you remember that little boy we saw at the supermarket earlier, don't you?" Said Lucas who suddenly remembered something and invited Darren to talk.

"No, why?" Darren's reply wasn't excited.

"Duh, the child we also saw when we met Laura was, you know." Lucas tries Darren to recall the boy they saw.

Darren's memory suddenly recalls the woman with the child, and Airin, who Darren was referring to. Instantly made him a little excited because he was finally able to recognize the figure of the woman he had met.

"Now I remember, she's the girl we saw on Silvia's wedding day." Said Darren who suddenly remembered Airin.

"Well! Who do you mean?" Lucas confuses Darren's sudden remarks.

"The woman who was with the boy."

"Why is it the focus on that woman, am I talking about her little boy?" Lucas scrunched his forehead slightly as he felt confused by Darren's attitude.

"When I was at the supermarket, I told you I'd met her, right? Well, she's the girl we met at the party." Darren Obviously.

"Woman at the party?" Lucas is still trying to recall the identity of the woman Darren was referring to.

"Women who cry when they see me." Darren tries to give Lucas a clue about the identity of the woman with the little boy they saw.

"Wow, I remember now. So she's that girl, she deserves a familiar face." Reply Lucas who now remembered about the Airin they saw earlier.

"True, she was the first woman to cry when she saw me. And just now, he gave me an angry and cold look." Darren said as he recalled Airin's expression on him.

"Seriously? Well, I don't worry anymore. You see, my eyes were focused on the commotion Laura was doing." Lucas Sesal.

"But, why would he give such a look to you? Do you have the same fault with him?" Asked Lucas who suddenly felt strange about it.

"That's what I want to know, too. His reaction when he saw me was always changing, when he was crying, now it looks like he is holding back my anger. I don't think I did anything wrong to her?"

Darren also felt strange about it, and found no answer to his confusion.
