Dul
017. The Holiday Struggle

Anyone may not forget the way he ever did in getting his happiness. Especially when the way is fairly difficult to live at an age that should still be free from worries.

The night before the holiday to the top, Dul tries to sleep early. Trying to close his eyes and remember what will happen tomorrow. However, it turns out that happiness is arranged in the mind since a few days ago, making it more difficult to fall asleep.

Mbah Wedok has been in the room since. As usual, Mbah Wedok can fall asleep after arguing with Mbah Lanang. The discussion is always the same. Words that are always repeated and do not have any effect to undo Mbah Lanang's intention to go to the stall and sit for a long time.

At what time, Dul awakens due to a knock on the door. Mbah Lanang just came home and immediately fell asleep in front of the television. If so, Mbah Lanang will not go into the room so that Mbah Wedok does not wake up.

Throughout the days of Dul's consciousness as a child, maybe that's what he saw as the form of Mbah Lanang's affection for his wife. Don't want to disturb Mbah Wedok's sleep. Although there is a possibility that the old man did not want to go into the room because the time of his return can be known by the wife.

Dul fell back asleep and gasped as the sound of the back door opened. Dul sat down and rubbed his eyes. Mbah Wedok's back is seen disappearing into the backyard.

Mbah Wedok has gone to the shop? What time is it?

Dul Head immediately looked up at the wall clock behind the television. Eight is less. His head looked around. The front door was still closed and Mbah Lanang who was overheard by the message woke him up still asleep.

Is it possible not to leave? Did you talk to Mbah Lanang and not go?

Dul jumped to his feet and rushed to the bathroom. So in a hurry he forgot to take his towel on the nail holder. So or not so go, at least he was prepared. He took a shower in the hope that his mother would come to pick him up soon.

“Dul ..!”

His entire face was covered in soap when his mother's call sounded. A little hesitant because he wanted to answer immediately, Dul fumbled and doused his face.

“Dul is done?”

“Udah, Mom. Just a toothbrush. I'm not too late, am I? Om Bara hasn't left yet, has he?” He immediately spewed out his worries since then.

“Not yet. Yeah, had. It's nothing.”

The answer he heard was a great relief. They go to the top. Only a few more watering times, he will finish his bath.

From the outside came his mother's voice and Mbah Lanang again argued. At first it wasn't so clear. However, over time his mother's voice rose.

"Today I saw Fredy at the shop. He asks who is the same man you are. Whether it's your husband or not. Ngamuk-ngamuk in the shop he said do not take Dul to know other men. I've been telling you anyway.”

Dul put down the dipper. A moment of silence and look at the nails on the wall. He forgot his towel. Mbah Lanang again started the debate. Why should it be now? Why when he's going to have fun? Why is the morning so slow to walk?

"You if you don't know how to fight. Later he came here menggamuk mukulin you just know the taste. He was imprisoned immune. Reported also not use.”

"Eat him he's more suited to death! If I get beaten up with him until he's half dead, you won't be able to take me. Now threaten to bring Dul. I used to go crazy until I didn't know my son, you guys sodor-sodorin Dul to me, let me be sane again. Now he can't be taken anywhere. Maybe if I die, then you are also happy. For Father, right, the important thing is to be able to sit in a chess game shop just as coffee. I, yes, do not count anything important to you. Fate, Sir ... Sir...."

"Mbok, yeah, take me away once in a while. Another father, really, could be willing to die for his daughter. I don't know what my fault was before. I guess I've never lived hard on anyone. But just want to do it for a minute is hard ...."

Mother nangis—Mothers …. Must not be going. Keep nagging. Om Bara must have gone to visit us for fear of Mbah Lanang.

Dul came out of the bathroom with his body still wet. Look at her mother sitting leaning against the outside wall of the bathroom holding a towel.

“Mother, howdy, cry? We're not going, are we? Om Bara left us because I woke up late?” He did not know the matter at the time. Mbah Lanang's face looks scary. His mother had also shed tears with an annoyed face. His mother did not answer. Just wiping his wet body quickly without turning his head again at Mbah Lanang.

Then ... from outside the door came the most soothing sound that morning. “Dul ... Om Bara wait outside, yes ...”

Dul's eyes were staring at the door. “Iya, Om …. I'm getting ready. Cepet, Ma. Kasian Om Bara if we are late.”

Om Bara is afraid of Mbah Lanang? I guess not. Om Bara dare to pick me up and Mom to come here. Om Bara is different ….

Like not wanting to linger there, in an instant with the help of his mother Dul was fully dressed. A moment later his hand was already held out the door.

Bara was seen looking at his mother's face. “Yuk,” take her mother without looking at Bara.

Together with his mother they walked ahead of Bara's step to leave the house alley. The atmosphere was a little awkward and he was a little worried because his mother was just silent with a grim face. Dul is worried that Bara feels neglected. But the man was relaxed. Go to the car and open the door for him first. His face was cheerful and asked nothing of his mother. With all the awareness he had, at that time Dul understood that Bara just wanted to make his mother comfortable by giving it time.

The car is very comfortable. The size is large with large chairs and feels spacious for his tiny body. Not up to five minutes in the car, the cooler has worked optimally. Dul leaned his body against the window and folded his hands staring out.

That day he saw the street without sweat on his forehead. Without jostling in the transportation, also without a seat to save costs. From the corner of his eye he glanced at his mother leaning back, also staring out the window. Guessing that his mother was still thinking about Mbah Lanang's words before leaving earlier. However, his mother's face was already much calmer.

Dul rewinds his body to look up and tries to see Bara from the middle rearview. The man is still just as relaxed. Relax, but also busy glancing at his mother's face many times. Looks like he and Bara are trying to make sure of the same thing. Is her mother's mood better now?

“Cold,” said Dul, touching his cheek with the palm of his hand. Then he looked at her from the spy. They looked at him and the man winked at him. Dul's smile immediately glimpsed the blink of a very friendly eye. At that moment his heart was filled with happiness and his mind was filled with questions.

Can it be like this forever?
