"Gee!" Robin sped up his pace following Dul who was in front. Jumped over the puddles of rain last night.
Dul stops his steps and waits for Robin. It's a new morning again. Although the day went slow while devouring all the lessons from the seats in the classroom and the walls were decorated with the same look year after year, yet they always said 'not felt'.
It does not feel that they have arrived at the end of time to spend the rest of the day in a high school uniform. Dul waits patiently until Robin arrives next to him.
"Can't you smile if you see me coming?" Robin punched Dul's arm slowly.
Dul chuckles. "Udah studying?" dul asked, embracing Robin's shoulder.
"Udahlah, Dul. You also don't follow her like that's the same as me. Enough of my mama. Which son? Have you seen?" Robin looked ahead and looked back to find the Son.
"No, not yet" replied Dul.
"Come on, let's go in. Last semester exam .. abis this exam gita love our teenage years was over. I don't want to be anything, whatever I am. Confused as well." Their footsteps almost arrived at the school gate.
"There's no ambition?" ask Dul.
"Many ideals .... But nothing fits my mom's criteria." Robin marched with Dul through the passage. Soon he arrived at his class.
"What are your goals?" Dul stops his steps again to wait for Robin. This time he was waiting for his best friend's answer about ideals that they had never talked about.
"My ideas travel the world" replied Robin casually.
Dul snorting. "Want to travel around the world? How's it going?" Dul shook his head impatiently and continued his steps towards the classroom.
Robin chuckles behind Dul. "Whoi, Dul! Don't ask me how to travel around the world. The important thing is to get rich first!" Robin is getting more and more upset because he sees Dul looking down for something to hit him.
As Robin was laughing, Son arrived at the classroom door. "Your laughing voice is heard to the end of the hallway. Have you studied yet? If you're rich at least you should learn first" said the son.
Robin was silent. "You're ruining my morning mood, too," annoyed Robin was still standing in front of the class.
"Schedule our first test of math subjects. All right, I broke all your morning mood" said the Son, holding both sides of Robin's arms and removing the friend from the front door of the classroom.
Inevitably, like it or not, the even semester closing test continues. Different types of students come out of the classroom with different kinds of expressions. Some come out with cheerful faces and do not get tired of discussing which problem he considers the most difficult. As if confined for an hour and a half with dozens of questions still lacking for him. There are also those who come out with mediocre looks like Dul. This type of student will not discuss the matter after the test, but also do not refuse if anyone discusses nearby. There are also others like the Son. He bowed lethargicly, but was not angry when anyone asked. Robin combines the last two into one. Robin looked down lethargic, also refused and was angry when someone discussed the test nearby.
"No one talked about the test anymore, yeah. A step away from the exam room, immediately closed the muzzle of the catfish. If you want to discuss, do not sit near me," threatened Robin while looking at Dul and Son who squinted at him.
"Not discussed. Comeon, home. It's hot this afternoon" Dul asked, embracing the shoulders of his two best friends to leave school.
The change of day takes them all the way to the last day of that even semester test. All the disciples looked relieved regardless of the results they would get later. Some students play football, some play basketball, some just sit in groups on the edge of the field to watch and joke. The face was full of burdens, the afternoon had fallen.
Dul, Robin and Putra, sit under a tree behind a soccer goal. Dul leaned against his backpack. Robin ate the pentol in the hands of the Son.
"Udah done. The rest of us in school is only a month away," said Dul, glaring.
"What's up, Dul?" ask Putra. "The old man didn't talk about Nisa" he continued, looking at Dul.
"She's good news. He was very busy during the final exam. If sent a message, the reply can be hours. Continues for days. I'd rather bother him." Dul's gaze was still empty staring at the group of students who were running around fighting over the ball.
"Nisa's rich isn't the rich type in your mind, Bin." The son looked at Robin who was still staring at the plastic pentol.
"Where is it in my mind? You know what you are," upset Robin.
Son distanced his plastic pentol. "Clearly know. I'm your friend for almost three years" said Putra.
"He is. He is, you know best. Bring the plastic back here. Don't stingy. Tomorrow you can miss sharing gini food with me." Robin again stabbed the pentol from the Son's hand.
"Where's Lova going to college, Dul?" ask Robin. "How is he doing?"
"Lova is now in architecture. I know of the children of OSIS who are still exchanging news with him. He studied in Yogyakarta."
"You rich kid's good, right? I love where that guy comes in. I think I am the one confused. I'm lazy to go to college. My head's dizzy. Want to be a businessman," said Robin. This time he looked at the students playing ball. "I want to stop shooting girls too." Robin's face was serious.
"The bow causes trauma?" The son held a smile looking at Robin's face.
"hey are. The first and only time I shot a girl, you know-you were rejected. My youth is tarnished" Robin murmured.
"I never shot a girl" Dul said.
"You didn't shoot a girl, but I wrestled in the sand because you were a girl. Come on, Dul .. at least there's something you can remember. I felt more and more unwelcome" Robin said, shaking in despair.
"It turns out Robin was getting into her insecure stage as a teenager. This is normal, really." Dul turned around and placed his hand on Robin's shoulder. "My dear words, all those people must be valuable to someone else. At least you must be valuable to your mother and father." Dul reviewed a sweet smile for Robin.
"Udah is starting to get your smart ass now, yeah." Robin wrapped her hands around Dul's neck and dropped her body onto the grass. For the last time, they littered the clothes in the grass with each other beating and struggling.
The following month, their last day at school turned out to be no longer in class. All the disciples just sat dumbstruck in various corners to wait for their parents to take the graduation announcement.
There was no face of tension that day. All the students looked relaxed. Maybe because a few days before the news spread that all final students were declared to graduate.
Bara just got out of Dul class with a white envelope. He went straight to Dul and patted his son's shoulder gently. "Dad is old, it turns out," said Bara, lifting the white envelope and handing it to Dul.
Dul received it with his mouth clenched. Already graduated. He was eighteen years old. In a few months he will be in the Air Force Academy. Like his ideals, like a promise to his mother and father.
"Want a photo before you go home?" Bara pulled out her phone. "His wealth in front of the name of the school is good. Make mementos," said Bara.
"Can, come. I also want a photo with my hape," said Dul. He pulled the phone out of his pocket. Before calling Robin and asking her friend to help take some photos, Dul took the time to open the message application. The disappointment he could not hide.
"Why?" ask Bara.
"Nanya's from yesterday, but not yet reciprocated." Dul smiled wryly looking at his father. His eyes re-read the text message he sent to Annisa. 'Tomple the graduation announcement at our school. When was your school there?'
"Maybe Nisa's busy" Bara said, watching Dul's expression.
Dul nodded uninspired. "Yes. Maybe Nisa's busy. The more days Nisa gets busy."
