Dul

Dul
122. Hugs Longs

The simple sentence that Dul had just uttered made Annisa silent for a while. Who would have thought an ever-speechless Abdullah could have changed in recent years. Annisa smiled looking at Dul.

Yes, the teenage boy's first kiss is now growing up. Annisa nodded, taking a step back in order to observe Dul more freely.

“Abdullah now different.” Annisa looked at Dul with a grim look. The more understanding that some people experience differences in a better direction. And some try to maintain the good in themselves by dying. Annisa is both happy and sad.

“I'm just worried that I can't talk about it. I really miss Annisa. Almost three years, my phone is still the same.” Dul pulls out his phone and opens the messages he addressed to Annisa's old mobile number. “I always wait for Annisa to reply to my message. If it's not answered, I'll wait for the message to arrive. If the message arrived .. at least I know that Annisa still exists.” Dul silently looked at his phone.

Annisa grabs Dul's phone and starts scrolling through messages starting from the top. Her tears started to float. Countless how many sentences ‘Annisa, how are you?’ it reads. Several years of living with the fortress of a strong girl figure, that night everything seemed to collapse. He who always felt that no one really cared for him, that night realized. There was someone who sincerely wanted to know the circumstances. Annisa was crying a mouthful. Her tears fell over the screen of the phone she was sliding on.

“My old number is a postpaid number. In the name of Papa. The day I had a big storm with Papa because of her sudden and fast marriage, Papa took my phone. Papa took it and never returned it. Said missing. I always thought Papa was evil. But now I know .. maybe Papa did that so I wouldn't run or leave home by contacting friends who would accept me.” Annisa wiped her tears and looked at Dul.

“I can't afford to stay with Papa and his new family. His father was closer to the children of his small wife. Papa is trying hard to steal the hearts of children. Meanwhile ...My eldest brother and sister-in-law may have thought of me as a burden all along. My other brother lives abroad. Some while completing their education, some work and try to survive in the land of people. I know they have a family. They want to have an event for their small family without my existence which is always a consideration to be invited or not invited. I don't want them constantly worrying about me. I studied desperately to be able to study in this city, so that I could free them from bearing me who was not old enough. Now ... Abdullah must have pity on me, right? Abdullah must be sorry because I have to be tired of looking for extra pocket money?” Annisa looked at Dul who was standing looking at her calmly.

Dul shook his head. “I have enough to arrive at the explanation of my messages that never arrived. Thanks for the effort to explain it all. Make the stoic Annisa fight to be independent and strong, I'm proud. Annisa reminds me of a strong woman who raised me. To make Annisa persistent with her purpose and stance, Annisa reminds me of a broad-hearted man who is willing to father me. Up here, Annisa was amazing. Annisa's great. Mmmm .. can I hug Annisa?”

No response from Annisa. The girl lowered her head and cried with a stifled roar. Dul took a step forward and pulled Annisa in his arms.

Long enough Annisa spilled all the wedge in her heart in the form of tears. They stood on the sidewalk of a deserted highway, not far from the intersection of the road where a police post was located. Although just standing still patting softly on Annisa's back, but Dul's eyes get wet.

Annisa let go of her embrace with a wry smile. “Sorry. Long time no see, I was rich gini. Thank you for always telling me. From now on I won't change my phone number again.” Annisa laughing.

“Where is your mobile phone?” ask Dul suddenly. The experience of losing contact with Annisa makes it seem like he must be more active in resolving communication problems.

Annisa frowned, but she reached into the white canvas bag that was draped over her shoulder. Dul took Annisa's phone and typed in a row of numbers.

“I saved my mobile number. Then ... I'm on the phone..oke, already signed in.” Dul patted the phone in his pocket. “Then make the addition, I give my father's email address which until now I still use. This email is a memento from since applying for High School. My father said it should be worn. You can also contact me to this email address. [email protected]

Dul then returns the phone to Annisa. “This is past midnight. Where are your sins? Come on, I'll take a cab.”

Because he had missed Mr. Samsul's ride and his subscription ojek, through midnight Annisa had no choice but to accept Dul's offer to take him. Ten minutes later, they were already sitting side by side in a taxi in a state of silence of a thousand languages. The two do not know what else to talk about. A tired body and sleepy eyes keep both busy with their own thoughts.

Dul comes down first to open the door for Annisa. “Late this week there is an event?” dul asked, closing the taxi door and looking at the taxi away.

“There is no event. There is no family here. Usually I'm only in the bedroom all day.” Annisa laughed a little. “Taxia is not told to wait? You will come home difficult to find a taxi,” said Annisa.

“Always there, really. I got on a plane several times at night and until the early hours of the morning. Some taxis make their living choosing at this hour.”

Annisa nodded. “This is my boarding. Not far, right? I like the location that does not need to go into the small alleys. Easy to reach by public transport because it is located on the side of the road.” Annisa looked at the building behind her.

They were standing in front of a tall fence of a classic model house whose front grew a shady mango tree.

“The location is indeed strategic.” Dul nodded, looking at the building behind Annisa. He clenched his mouth for a second, then looked down at the shoes in the next second. Sweeping her eyes, seeing Annisa doing the same.

Annisa gasped and looked at Dul in astonishment. It is not a word of invitation or offer. But it is like a command that is difficult to resist because there is no yes or no choice in the answer. Annisa nodded back.

Dul breathed a sigh of relief at Annisa's nod. A very big meaning to him. Annisa's not waiting for anyone else at the end of the week. “Tomorrow I call you. And if you need to call me first, I'm happy too. Meaning ...”

“That means no one will be jealous if I contact Abdullah first, right? Okay,” said Annisa accompanied by a nod.

“If so .. I say so now. I'm looking for a cab up ahead. Mmmm .. happy rest,” said Dul again nodding.

“Abdullah also. Happy break. Be careful on the road. By the way ... thanks for the chat tonight.” Annisa thrust her hand.

Dul welcomes Annisa's hand a little hesitant. The scenario in his head had already exceeded that formal hand post. So, when their hands touched, he placed one of his hands on Annisa's back and brought the girl closer to her. Dul then took off his hat with his right hand as his left hand moved from Annisa's back and touched the girl's cheek.

“Sergeant Major Two Midshipmen Abdullah Son Satyadarma permission kiss Annisa,” said Dul gently. One hand rubbed Annisa's cheeks with their gazes that continued to look. Dul smiled as he saw Annisa round her eyes. In the next instant, he had already placed his lips on Annisa's lips. Both closed their eyes.

An awkward pair of Annisa's hands raised slowly and touched both of Dul's arms. He looked up and half on his tiptoes. Dul was much taller than when he kissed her in class.

In a car parked on the side of the road.

“Mas! Mas! That's Dul nyium girl man! How's that? His father will be angry. Mas!” Seized patting Bara's arm.

“Do not see. It's an adult scene. Dul is an adult.” Bara cupped Dijah's face so as not to look at Dul in the distance. “Here his mother Dul kissed as well so it's not noisy.” Bara kisses the slightly shocked Sejah accepting that Dul is already a grown man.
