50: THE REAL PURPOSE

REAL PURPOSE

A few days after that war, Avalance and Ignis had fully recovered. Since his Castle had been destroyed, Avalance temporarily stayed in a house in Licht City. Even if it is just a house. However, the house was large enough to accommodate thousands of people.

Ignis comes to see Avalance, the guards in the house are scared just because they see Ignis coming alone. Ignis raised both his hands, as if saying he had not come to look for trouble.

In Avalance's room, Ignis finally came to have a little chat with Avalance.

Two glasses of wine were already available at a table, as if Avalance had already known the arrival of Ignis.

"Sit down first, I've prepared a drink" Avalance said.

Ignis without further ado sat down followed by Avalance.

"Arunica?" Ignis asked as he grabbed the wine.

"You also know that only this wine I always drink" replied Avalance playing his wine glass.

"Then, what do you want to talk to me about? Is this a declaration of war again?" Ask Avalance.

"No" answered Ignis.

Ignis then drank the wine.

"I'm sorry" Ignis said.

Avalance seemed confused to hear Ignis' words.

"You haven't said that to me in the last 300 years. However, even if you say so, the chaos and casualties from the war three days ago will not be able to recover with just your apology" Avalance replied.

"I'm not sorry about that" Ignis said.

"Then?" Reply Avalance.

Ignis then issued two letters given by Indra the other day. Avalance was surprised to see the two letters.

"300 years ago, I felt the most hurt. I lost everything, my reputation, my friends, my life is all gone. However, I can't believe you've lost even more than that. Friends, reputations, lovers, even an unborn child. And in such times, I banish and alienate you" Ignis said.

"As your brother, I've forgiven you a long time ago. However, as the King of the Northern Region. I can't let what the Southern Region is doing pass you by" Avalance replied.

"That's enough" said Ignis who then sipped the remaining wine in the glass.

A few hours later Avalance and Ignis kept talking. The two brothers seemed to have gotten along even more now, suddenly someone opened the door of the room violently, leaving Avalance and Ignis a little surprised.

"Hey, Avalance! Eh? There are fathers too, rarely see you get along a little" said Indra.

"So you stole the letter, Indra" Avalance replied.

Indra then saw the letter he had given to his father on the table of the room.

"Um. I can explain" said Indra.

"Forget it, despite the fact that you stole it. I'm grateful that this treasured letter wasn't destroyed along with the Castle" Avalance replied.

"In addition, you must explain how you can enter into a contract with the Devil" Avalance continued.

"I forgot to ask you that too. Everyone knows that selling your soul to a Devil for power is taboo. However, the most important thing is how can you find a demon that is not many in number?" Ask Ignis too.

"On that." said Indra.

Indra thought for a moment to find an excuse.

"Calm down, the contract I signed with the Devil was an unequal contract for him" Indra continued.

"Some time ago I fought a Devil, it was very strong. I even lost an arm when I fought with him. After a tough fight, I managed to make him die. Before I killed him he offered me a contract. He will give me strength and my arm will recover, provided I have to spare his life" Indra wrote.

Indra was already sweating coldly, he thought his father and Avalance would not be able to believe that nonsense. Beyond his estimation, Ignis and Avalance actually believe in that nonsense and understand Indra's decision.

"So that's it. Thank goodness you didn't sell your soul as a price for that A Sign of a Sin" Ignis replied.

"By the way, I actually came here not to fight" Indra said changing the conversation.

"Then what's your goal?" Ask Avalance.

"I'm here to get stronger. That is the real purpose of coming here" replied Indra.

Ignis laughing.

"I think you're my son" Ignis said with a laugh.

"So you came to ask me to train you?" Ask Avalance.

"Initially so. However, seeing your busy life after the war yesterday. It seems that I cannot impose my will" Indra replied.

"I'll help you. But not anytime soon. I'll see you a month from now, so before that you're free to go anywhere" Avalance said.

"One month huh? I think I'll just stay here. I also got 250,000 pieces of gold. So I have no reason to make money any time soon" Indra replied.

"Well, if that's your decision" Avalance said.

Indra then exits the room leaving behind Avalance and Ignis.

"How do you think he could meet Beelzebub and receive A Sign of a Sin?" Ask Avalance.

"Eitherway. However, it seems that the boy did not sell his soul to Beelzebub" Ignis replied.

"He refused to tell her, I became more and more curious" Avalance replied.

Meanwhile, the war that occurred in the Northern Territory a few days ago was finally known by all corners of Compax. News spread that the Frostbite King of the Northern Region and Lightning From the Wild West had managed to win the war against the Southern Region.

The news finally reached Bella as she bought food supplies for Angel Eyes. Seeing the news in the newspaper made him surprised, he had often heard Indra out at night. However, just this time he heard great news about Indra in addition to being the best Bounty Hunter in Compax.

Bella then hurried home to inform Reisth, Misha, and Miller of the news.

"Everything! You should see this news!" Bella said as soon as she opened Angel Eyes' door.

"What's wrong?" Reisth asked as he grabbed the newspaper Bella had brought.

Reisth started reading the news and was surprised to read it.

"Indra helped to finish the war in the Northern Region?! That sounds impossible!" Reisth.

Hearing that, Misha and Miller were surprised. They finally took the paper and read it themselves.

"So the boy didn't go just to roam free? But I can't believe he went to war there. Misha, we have to go see him in the Northern Region!" Miller.

"I agree!" Reply Misha.

"Why do you suddenly want to see him?" Ask Bella.

"He was one of the most important people to finish the war. Which means he's getting paid a lot" Miller replied.

"Then?" Ask Bella again.

"Then we'll borrow the gold!" answer Misha.
