48: THE SHORTEST WAR IN HISTORY

SHORTEST WAR IN HISTORY

Indra's Thunder Cage was unexpectedly able to make two Great Mages difficult to use their magic freely.

Once the Thunder Cage closed then the movements of Ignis would become more free. Plus, sooner or later reinforcements for Ignis will arrive. However, Indra had one move that he kept for it.

Indra stood at the midpoint of the Thunder Cage to absorb those lightning bolts with Storm Catcher. While Ignis and Avalance are fighting magic with each other.

Ignis magic is not optimal because the cold Northern Region temperature makes the fire almost helpless, coupled with the Thunder Cage then there will be no reinforcements that can help him. On the contrary, Avalance greatly benefited from the natural conditions of the Northern Region as well as its own Curse. Even so, Ignis was still able to keep up with Avalance who had the advantage, even Avalance was also seriously injured because of Ignis, although Ignis' injuries were no less severe.

As the Thunder Cage narrowed and was about to crash into the two of them, they desperately tried to break out of the Thunder Cage. Despite the overwhelming pain, they managed to get out. However, Ignis could not calm down because the Thunder Cage's Lightning had been absorbed into the Storm Catcher.

Avalance understood what Indra would soon do. Therefore he again threw two ice sword blades towards Ignis and again blew them into ice chips to block Ignis' view. Ignis who was upset with it then burned the ice with his fire until it was not left. However, the fire actually makes the blind spot becomes wider.

After the fire disappeared, Ignis saw the figure of Indra who was already standing in front of him by holding a sword that was filled with lightning and the tip of his sword facing down.

Indra then slashed Ignis from the bottom up. He threw his lightning bolt and finally the lightning exploded there and also made Ignis almost fall. However, even though it was that strong Ignis still stood.

Ignis laughed while enduring the pain.

"IT'S NOT BAD, INDRA. BUT NOT ENOUGH!!" Shouted Ignis.

"Yes, I know that" said Indra who was still holding her sword.

Lightning that was as great as Thunder Cage grabbed the Storm Catcher, in contrast to the Thunder Cage that was made to confine the enemy. The lightning this time was the huge lightning that Indra absorbed into the Storm Catcher.

Indra slashed Ignis from the top down. The attack again exploded to break almost the entire ice sheet that was the ruins of the castle.

This time's attack completely toppled Ignis. Ignis eventually falls, though still conscious. Ignis could not move anymore.

Avalance who was also too tired sat down while enduring the pain. While Indra did not get much injury because from the beginning he only helped Avalance who did try his hardest against Ignis.

Even Avalance himself still had trouble holding back Ignis fire. Not only against Ignis, Avalance was also as determined as he was to keep the temperature around his Castle as cold as possible. In order for Ignis' fire to not be as hot as it should be, without the help of the Thunder Cage perhaps Avalance was unable to withstand Ignis let alone subvert him.

"It's not over yet, there are still eleven thousand reinforcements coming here. And they will not retreat just because they see their Master has been defeated. With the rest of your army you won't be able to avoid this, Avalance" Ignis said.

Avalance was silent for a moment.

"Avalance, how much gold will you pay for me after this?" Tanya Indra cut.

Avalance quickly understood Indra's intentions.

"One hundred and fifty thousand. However, since you intend to destroy my castle then I will give you a hundred thousand" Avalance replied.

"Give me three hundred then I will clear the reinforcements" Indra replied.

"Bastard son, two hundred. Take it or not at all" Avalance said.

Indra thought for a moment. With 300,000, he could have bought a new house. However, he recalled that he had also just obtained a Villa that he had not even touched a moment ago. So, 200,000 doesn't seem too bad.

"Alright, deal" Indra replied with passion.

"I don't want any more casualties from the troops coming in as reinforcements. If one of them dies, then I won't pay a dime" Avalance said.

"Wait, that's not fair!" Indra complains.

Avalance ignored Indra again, then a while later Indra sighed.

"Alright, I will work on it" said Indra.

"Send to you" Avalance replied.

Ignis laughed while still enduring the pain.

"You can't fight them without your magic. However, if you use that magic then they will die. Can you do it without that magic locker?" Ask Ignis.

"Come, dad. It's a pretty tough situation, but on the other hand I want the payoff. So.. there is no harm in trying" replied Indra.

The sun slowly began to rise, along with it from the South about 11,000 relief troops came to the aid of Ignis and his troops who were still at war.

Indra quickly approached them before the troops dispersed. It would be difficult for Indra to crush them if they had already dispersed. If Indra is allowed to kill them then there is no problem. However, Indra was not allowed to kill them and that made it even more difficult.

Meanwhile, Ignis and Avalance who no longer have the energy to chat in the midst of the ruins of the Castle.

"You're too naive, Avalance. You forced the boy not to kill his opponent even though he was able to do it easily" Ignis said.

"I didn't do it out of compassion, Ignis. However, because it is possible that your army will help if one day the Chaos Dragon will reappear" Avalance replied.

"Remain still, this might hurt you another day. If only the boy had been on my side then you wouldn't have been a big deal" Ignis said.

"Then, what makes Indra not side with you now?" Ask Avalance.

Ignis was silent, because of course the reason that made Indra now on Avalance's side was Ignis's own actions in the past.

Indra was watching the relief troops from a distance. After finding the right moment, Indra immediately summoned black clouds in the sky and Indra used Thunder Extinction. However, with weaker lightning.

Thousands of lightning strikes hit the ground quickly. Within seconds, the entire relief force had been lying helplessly on the ground. There seemed to be no casualties from that scaled-down Thunder Extinction, they had only sustained heavy injuries and some had already fainted. I am glad that no one died. It was also the shortest war in Compax's history to be completed.
