My eyes are hot. Apparently dad accidentally opened the window to let the sunlight in and gave “diskon”, hehe joked, he meant that the sunlight could affect my eyes and I could wake up.
I saw the clock at work was almost showing at 6 am. “Waahhh.. Sorry,” I said with surprise and immediately ran out to go to school.
As usual, Ujang was waiting for me at the door with his trademark smile similar to Sharukh Khan, even Ujang was happy to hum, “Bolu stolen, at home widowed, stolen sponge, gull bacem, and so on,” so keep on arriving at school.
Ujang laughed grimly along the way, not knowing what he was thinking. At first I didn't care, but for a long time he pissed me off. “Jang, why the hell from earlier laugh continuously?” I asked with a look of annoyance on my face.
“That laugh improves mood, Imas!” Ujang began to philosophize.
“Who said?” tanyaku, trying to provoke his sotoy attitude.
"According to the science of kanuragan, laughter can increase the production of endorphins, which are hormones responsible for feelings of happiness.” Ujang suddenly began to speak at length.
I was lazy to hear Ujang talk like that, so I decided to shift the conversation to another topic. “Jang, we are almost late, let's hurry the way later the school gate is closed. The security guard at school does not know our habits,”, I asked.
Ujang constantly walked behind me while trying to chase after me who was walking fast. “Wait, Imas! This is important, we have to discuss the benefits of laughing,” he asked.
“Ah, stop, Jang. We can talk about it next time. Now, the important thing is that we should get to the school immediately before the gate closes,” I replied.
Ujang muttered softly, but was heard by me, “Alright, Imas. But remember, laughing can also make us relaxed and can enjoy this trip better.”
I was a little annoyed at that moment. “Casual? Crazy, Jang! We're almost too late! Come, quick!” I started running small. Eventually, we both ran quickly towards school, focused on reaching school on time.
When we got to the school gate, we were relieved to reach our goal in time. “See, Jang, we did it! Now, we can sit quietly and laugh with friends,” I said while adjusting my breath that was still panting.
At that time, Spotaker High School got guests from the Puskesmas who would provide information about the dangers of dengue fever. We were all asked to gather on the basketball court during the break.
Shortly after, the principal appeared in front of us on a small, prepared stage. In his spirit, he made an announcement.
“Hi all Spotaker High School students and students! Today we have a special opportunity because there is a team from Puskesmas who will provide information about the dangers of dengue fever. This is an excellent opportunity for all of us to better understand the importance of maintaining the health and hygiene of all of us.”
All around the field, all listening to the announcement from the headmaster seriously despite still feeling breathless after running towards the school, enthusiasm did not disappear.
“I hope we can all follow this information seriously, and if there is anything that is not yet clear do not hesitate to ask. Health is very important, and with the knowledge we get today, we can prevent the spread of dengue fever and take care of our own health.”.
After the announcement was over, officers from the Puskesmas went up to the stage and began an informing session.
“Halo High School students Spotaker! I am from Puskesmas and will discuss the importance of dengue fever prevention. Let's learn together about its symptoms, spread, and precautions.”
During the provision of information, the atmosphere becomes serious with useful information. We all listen carefully, ask questions, and take note of the key points being conveyed.
Once the information is complete, we return to the classroom with useful new knowledge. Although the topic is serious, Ujang and I look at each other and laugh. Apparently, during the counseling session, Ujang farted repeatedly.
“Gold, not a moment to laugh!” Ujang whispered.
“Sorry, Jang. You said laughing was healthy, right? Even in situations like this.” I replied to the sentence Ujang earlier.
"Laughter is important, but we need to know when and where we can do it. Right now, we have to focus and respect the activities in class.”, I said while warning Ujang.
Ujang nodded in agreement and understood his mistake. We both tried to hold back their laughter and return to study activities. During the lesson, the classroom atmosphere becomes serious and all focus on the material being taught. Me and Ujang looked very focused, taking down important notes.
“Already, Jang. Your fart is not as good as singing and not as fragrant as kasturi. So, don't talk about it anymore!" I walked away from him with a little annoyance at Ujang.
"Yes, Imas. I will be more careful and take into account the timing, when to fart in front of you and when to be in a public place" said Ujang, trying to make a joke that is still the same.
"Haha... Not funny!" I kept walking away from Ujang until he was no longer visible.
As the lesson bell rang, we sat back in our seats and the teacher began his teaching.
The classroom atmosphere again became serious and we earnestly listened to the teacher's explanation. I take important notes and try to understand every material taught.
After the lesson ended, I saw Ujang sitting alone in the corner of the class with a slightly pouting face. I approached him with a more lenient attitude.
"I'm sorry, Jang, that I was a little too upset. Maybe I should be more open to your humor."
He smiled, "It's okay, Imas. I was exaggerating with my fart jokes too. We're good friends, right? We can understand each other and accept each other's weaknesses."
I nodded in agreement, "Yes, Jang. It really doesn't matter if you fart, but earlier, Wallahi Jang, your fart stinks a lot. What pisses me the most, why are you farting at Medley? And why does it say "to be continued"?"
"The name is also mules, Imas." Answer Ujang while blushing.
I laughed at Ujang's timid explanation. "Mules or not, Jang, you better control yourself a little better in public. We don't want anyone else to be bothered by an unpleasant smell."
Ujang nodded in agreement, "Yes, Imas, I'm sorry if I interfered. I'll try to be more careful later."
"Now, Imas, let's forget about farting and focus on the rest of the day. What's so exciting about school today?" ask Ujang with enthusiasm.
I smiled, "There's a race home first, want to bet?"
"Who's afraid!" answer Ujang.
We looked at each other with a burning spirit. Suddenly, the school bell rang with a ripple. Without hesitation, the two of us quickly ran out towards the exit of the school.
Our pace is fast and hearts are pounding, because victory is our target.
In the middle of the race, we glanced at each other signalling that we both wanted to win.
Suddenly, an unexpected incident occurred. Ujang slipped in a puddle because he did not see the spill of drinking water from another student's bag. I stopped for a moment, feeling indecisive between continuing the race or helping Ujang.
"Jang, are you okay?" ask me anxiously.
Ujang nodded with an embarrassed smile, "Yes, Imas, thank you. I'm a little careless."
On the way home, Ujang suddenly stopped and looked at me seriously. "Gold, there's one more thing we can do to make today more enjoyable. What yes?" asked Ujang while putting on a mysterious face.
I looked at him curiously, "What is that, Jang?"
Ujang smiled widely and with a strange voice that tickled the ears of both of us, "Duuutttt..."
"YYAHOOOOO!"
