Early in the morning Ujang was in front of my house, My mother said that Ujang wanted to say something to me. The curious me immediately went out and asked Ujang, "Ujang, what's the matter in the morning?" I'm a little confused.
"Sorry, Imas. Yesterday I lied to you. Actually I know a superior eel breeder, but because yesterday I was still angry with you, so I was lazy to tell you." Ujang said with a bent face and felt regret.
"Ahh. It's okay Ujang, anyway it's not so important anyway." Answer me with a smile.
"I'll take you there if you want, Imas." Ujang offered his help to me.
I was impressed by Ujang's determination to correct his mistake. Although I initially felt a bit confused by his explanation, I did not want to bother about it any further. To me, his honesty and good intentions are paramount.
"Thank you, Ujang. I appreciate your offer to take me to the eel farmer" I said sincerely. "I'm really curious about the superior eel farm you mean. Come on, let's go right away."
We rode on our Ujang motorcycles and headed for the eel breeders. Our trip was full of cheer and small talk, as if yesterday's event never happened.
After some time, we arrived at the superior eel breeder. The place is located in a quiet village, in the middle of a vast green garden. We were greeted by the breeder, Mr. Slamet, who turned out to be a friend of Ujang for a long time.
Mr. Slamet explained to us that this eel farm uses modern methods and the latest technology. They optimize environmental conditions, implement good management, as well as control factors such as temperature, humidity, and nutrients to improve eel productivity and quality.
I'm very impressed to see how professional and serious Mr. Slamet is in running his business. He shares a wealth of knowledge about eel cultivation, from good seedling selection, proper pond management, to optimal feed. I feel lucky to get a chance to see for myself this superior eel farm.
"If you may know, usually you sell these eels where, sir? do you distribute yourself to the market or already have a skull?" Askaqua.
I asked Mr. Slamet with a tempestuous curiosity. I want to find out how the eels produced on this farm are sold and distributed.
Mr. Slamet smiled kindly at my question. "Actually, Imas, the eels we produce here have several distribution lines" he replied. "We sell them directly to local markets around our village. We're also working with some middlemen who have a wider distribution network."
He continued, "On several occasions, we also cooperated with leading restaurants in the nearby city. They have a fairly high demand for fresh eels for their culinary uses. We always try to maintain the quality and cleanliness of our eels in order to meet the standards they want."
I'm impressed by the distribution strategy this eel farm has. Not only do they rely on a single distribution line, but seek to cover multiple channels to reach a wide range of potential markets. It was a smart move to expand their product range.
"Sir Slamet, does your eel farm have any plans to market the product online?" ask again, given the ever-increasing popularity of e-commerce.
Mr. Slamet nodded. "Yes, Imas, we are considering the option. We recognize that the development of technology and the digital market provides great opportunities for us. By marketing products online, we can reach more consumers and make it easier for them to acquire our fresh eel."
After I got enough information, we said goodbye to Mr. Slamet, and Ujang drove me home feeling full of joy and satisfaction.
"There, a little further away from Mr. Slamet's house." Sahut Ujang excited.
"Can we go there after lunch?" I'm getting more enthusiastic.
"Of course Imas. But, if you may know, why have you been looking for an eel breeder lately?" Curious about my activities.
"I'm looking for an eel supplier for my business, Ujang. Mr. Slamet can't be a supplier to me, because he's already distributing his own eels." I said a little in a disappointed tone.
Ujang understood my desire to find an eel supplier for my business. He gave a spirited smile and said, "No need to worry, Imas. I have another eel-breeding friend who might be your supplier. His name is Mr. Hadi, he has a pretty big eel farm."
I was excited to hear Ujang's explanation. "Good, Ujang! Come on, let's visit Pak Hadi's farm after lunch. I want to see firsthand the quality of the eel he's producing and see if he's fit to be my supplier."
After lunch, the two of us rode on motorcycles again and headed to Pak Hadi's eel farm. Our trip this time was further away from the previous farm, but I was excited by this new opportunity.
Upon arrival at the farm, we were greeted by a friendly Mr. Hadi who was willing to explain about his eel business. I looked closely at how it worked and observed the condition of the eel farm it managed.
Mr. Hadi explained that he has partnerships with several eel farms in the surrounding area. They help each other in terms of production and distribution, thus ensuring a stable supply of eels. In addition, Mr. Hadi also has a network of middlemen who help in distributing eels to local and regional markets.
I asked Mr. Hadi about the quality of the eel he produced and how he maintained the cleanliness and health of the eel. Mr. Hadi proudly explained that they have a strict management system, including environmental control, selection of superior seeds, and quality feed supervision.
I am also interested to know if Mr. Hadi has any plans to market the product online. Mr. Hadi admitted that he had considered the option and was in the exploration stage. He realizes the wider market potential through digital platforms and plans to tap into it in the near future.
After seeing and discussing all the things with Mr. Hadi, I felt confident that he could become a suitable eel supplier for my business. I thank Mr. Hadi for his hospitality and the opportunity given.
Back home, I was satisfied with this trip. I know that having a reliable and quality supplier is very important to my business. I thank Ujang for helping me find a potential eel breeder.
On the way home, Ujang and I talked about my business plan and how we could support each other in our respective endeavors. We plan to continue to maintain communication and work together to achieve success in our field.
The day ended with a new feeling of optimism and enthusiasm. I called Usep and wanted to tell you about the good news.
"Usep, I found a good eel breeder. Tomorrow we negotiate there." I said excitedly.
