CHAPTER 7 | Goodbye Gary

Gary was surprised to find Araga's face in front of him.”Is this a dream? muttered

“No Gary. It's not a dream” said John disperse Gary's thoughts, then slowly he opened the hose auxiliary

breathing John.

As the patient's consciousness has recovered, the signal on the medical equipment provides alarms to the patient monitoring devices from the doctor and nurse room. Soon a doctor and nurse headed to Gary's treatment room and found that Gary had opened his eyes and all the tools attached to Gary's body showed a normal person-like condition.

“It's a miracle” the doctor told Gary.

“Iya doctor. This is truly a miracle” said Gary while smiling at the face of John in front of him.

“We will check up on you to check your condition Mr. Gary” continued the doctor.

“Can it be done later. I want to talk to the person in front of me. “ ask Gary to the doctor.

“Alright, later we will come back again” said the doctor while leaving them both after checking all medical indicators show normal signs.

After the departure of the doctor and nurse, Gary who remained smiling looked towards John “God

have granted my request to meet you one last time, Mr. Araga”

John smiled at Gary's words.

“I don't want to go leaving behind regrets in my life tuan” continued Gary.

“Before I leave, I would like to thank you for all your help during this time sir. Without your help, I would never be able to feel a happy life like this.”

“But there has been a wedge in my heart all this time about your departure sir, and there are many questions within

my mind that I cannot solve. So I beg for guidance from you Mr. Araga” continued Gary while taking a slow breath.

“I know Gary. I'll tell you everything about myself. Where should I start?” ask John to Gary

“Tell me who you are tuan” replied Gary briefly.

“My name is Araga. I have a twin brother named Khaga. I don't know when me and Khaga

born. But as I recall, my childhood was in this Terrace area that is in the ruins of the temple where you once saw me twelve years ago”

“So, the person I saw in the ruins twelve years ago was you sir?” cut Gary in tears remembering that time.

“Iya. That's right I” continued John.

“A time when me and Khaga turned immortal, I don't remember how old I really was, maybe more than 3000 years. I have been through various epochs in my life.” said John then paused to give Gary a chance to digest his brief explanation.

“Me and Khaga then clashed, doing various battles over the centuries. Later on

the last fight we agreed to go our own way. But if there is friction, then the deal is off” continued John

“That's why 50 years ago I went to leave you and did some investigation to avoid a battle back between me and Khaga after the incident in the port city of Prince Rupert” John continued his story.

Little by little the knots that stuck in Gary's heart opened with John's explanation. Gary was smiling. “That's lucky I was destined to meet you Mr. Araga” Gary said happily.

“If you'd like, I'd like to beg you for one thing sir. Please welcome tuan” pinta Gary.

“Mr Araga, I beg you to accept my dear granddaughter Sara. Make her your wife as well as your servant who always serves and accompanies you throughout her life. In return for my love for you in this life” pinta Gary on John who made John's eyes twitch.

John didn't know what to answer. John always avoided being emotionally close to

the woman in his life, because John knew the end was only the most painful thing left over because of his loss.

“Please Mr. Araga, grant my request for the last time. I know my time is not too long”

“Alright if that's your request” replied John to give peace and happiness to Gary before the end of his life.

“Kakek” cried Sara happily as soon as she saw her grandfather had woken up and was talking to John while carrying a bottle of white wine in his hand.

Gary turned his head towards this granddaughter he held dear to him. His heart had calmed down because he believed his master, Araga would always take good care of his granddaughter.

Sara sat down beside her grandfather with a happy heart and said “Grandfather, I brought you a bottle of white wine for you”

Gary laughed at the words of his granddaughter, then fondly stroked Sara's hair with his hands.

“Listen to Sara”'s grandfather Gary said slowly.

“Grandfather wants to match you with John. Are you willing and serve him until the end of your life?” ask Gary to Sara.

Like being struck by lightning, Sara heard her grandfather's request. There was a red hue on both of Sara's cheeks that made her grandfather smile.

Earlier this afternoon she thought of refusing an arranged marriage if she were in a position like Cindy

arranged by his parents. But this was his grandfather, the person he cared about the most. This could be his last request. Can I grant it? Not to mention John. The more he thought about it, the more the red hue on his face grew.

“Hahaha. My grandson is an adult” continued Gary teasing his beloved grandson.

Hearing the temptation from her grandfather, Sara came to a realization. He immediately brought his face closer to his grandfather's face while hugging his grandfather then whispered “Sara is ready to kek”

Oh how shameful, one side refused the match but now accepted it. Fortunately only my heart knows it, Sara thought.

John smiled, Sara did not know it turns out John can read the minds and hearts of people.

“Then let's open this white wine and toast” continued Gary who then Jiro immediately poured wine on the glass and gave it to everyone in the room.

“For our peace and happiness. Let's toast” said Gary happily. If it was time for him to leave, he would have calmed down and left behind a granddaughter whom he loved dearly.

Then doctors and nurses reappeared preparing to further diagnose Gary. John and Jiro

say goodbye to Gary and Sara. Although heavy hearted at the departure of John, but Sara must be on his grandfather's side and take care of him. So he could only look at the back of John who had passed away from the room.

In the hallway of the hospital Jiro asked John “Master, what happened to Gary.?”

“I can only extend the time for the two of them to be together for a day or two. But the knot in

gary's heart is open, he can go quietly” John said as he walked out of the hospital.

After being parked in the car, John turned his back to look at the hospital “Happy Gary road, I'm sure you'll get a decent place there with your wife”.
