CHAPTER 3 | Cindy's Birthday

The Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Sara wakes up to the sound of alarm music from her phone. Sara still feels in the dream realm, her eyes feel half a watt due to sleeping too late last night.

Reluctantly Sara turned off the alarm and sat on the edge of the bed, slowly recovering her consciousness. Then he turned his head towards the study table, looking at the pile of messy books on the table. Then his eyes were fixed on the calendar on the table, today Friday, March 25, 2022 circled in red.

Sara was stunned, then she jumped off the bed while rubbing her eyes to clear the view on the calendar on the table. Oh my God, I almost forgot. Yes, today is Cindy's birthday. Sara immediately rushed to clean up, then prepared today's textbooks and college supplies.

On the way to campus Sara stopped by a jewelry store to buy a gift. His eyes were drawn to a pretty good string of silver bracelets then bought and wrapped them neatly. Sara went straight to campus with a satisfied smile after buying a gift for Cindy.

Arriving at the campus, as usual Sara headed to the locker storage goods and put supplies there and a few books the next hour. This morning it's Cindy's mother's lesson that teaches world history. When the show was almost 9am, Sara immediately headed to the lecture hall to attend the lesson.

Inside the lecture hall, Cindy had just come and was preparing for the lecture materials today. Sara smiled to greet him, “For Cindy” bu then as usual Sara also took a sitting position in the front row.

“Today we discuss the history of the world about the tribes of Latin America and its relics that still exist.” said Cindy began the lesson.

Next, Sara listened to the explanation from Cindy excitedly. Yes, history is indeed Sara's favorite lesson since elementary school. Not noticeably, an hour and a half had passed, the morning lecture time was over. Sara gets ready for a break, then she approaches Cindy before leaving.

“Let's go to college this afternoon so we'll eat together bu?” ask Sara to Cindy.

“So donk, we eat at Pokeworks yuk” take Cindy

“Ok” says Sara with passion.

After attending all the lectures today, Sara was waiting for Cindy at the university gate. Soon Cindy shows up, and they head to Pokeworks to dine.

“Happy birthday Bu” Sara said after sitting at the table and ordering food.

“Hush, I have said many times that outside the campus do not call mother, call brother only right. But thank you Sara my sister” said Cindy who looked sullen by the call then she smiled sweetly.

“Hahaha, yes sister Cindy. Sorry I forgot ” Sara said with a laugh.

“Ohya, my 32nd birthday. Hows it? Do you have a sister-in-law?” sara asked him.

Cindy again pouted hearing the temptation from Sara, then she replied “Don't mention the age of a sis” woman.

“I still haven't thought for it” he continued then he looked out the restaurant window, but from his face was a pretty heavy pressure.

Sara also imagined if she was 32 years old, did not have a partner, would be depressed like Cindy. No. gabe. Sara then shook her head.

Cindy Johnson is named after a family of Johnson hoteliers who are quite located in the city of Terrace. From the appearance, Cindy including beautiful, graceful, smart, rich, let alone less as a wife-to-be thought Sara. Even Sara seemed a little jealous of it. “Hihihi..” accidentally Sara giggled at the thought, then Cindy glared at him

“What's funny sis?” ask Cindy to Sara who's breaking her mind.

“No brother. Ohya, there is a small gift from me for sister”, said Sara as she handed over the gift she had bought.

“Thank you Sara” replied as she opened her gift. Cindy looks happy to see the simple bracelet Sara gave her, then immediately wears it on her wrist.

“Sorry Brother, may I know why you haven't found a partner?” ask Sara curiously

Cindy then turned to Sara and replied “Later if you have graduated then I think of girlfriend” while her hand pointed at Sara's nose.

“Aduh sis, don't burden me ah” protest Sara.

Then the dishes came, they ate together while talking. Sara and Cindy meet on campus, because they both come from the city of Terrace, they become familiar like brother and sister.

Before long, their conversation was stopped by Cindy's ringing. “Mama” listed on her mobile screen. Cindy answered the phone.

“Halo ma, what's wrong ma? ask Cindy about her mom.

“Thank you ma.” say Cindy next.

“You can go home Saturday tomorrow?” ask Cindy's mom.

“Mama has spoken to your papa, tomorrow the Pattison family wants to meet for dinner with us. His son who is your age wants to meet you. Don't let it not come!” said Cindy's mom who seemed to force her.

“Ok ma, I will come” said Cindy with a sad face without being seen by her mother.

“Kakak will be matched?” ask Sara to Cindy. Cindy nodded slowly, but her face did not look happy.

“Why is sister unhappy? The Pattison family is one of the wealthiest families in Canada. Definitely sister will be queen there” Sara's tease back.

Robert Pattison, the third generation of the Pattison family who will probably inherit the Pattison family fortune in the future. Cindy's father is an old friend of Robert's, so Cindy has known Robert for a long time. Cindy does not really like the character of Robert who is too spoiled according to her.

There was something in Cindy's heart. Her first mysterious love.

“Sister is still thinking about that mysterious young man you once told me that yes?” ask Sara to Cindy.

Cindypun sighed, she raised her face looking towards the window, her eyes glaring at the distance. He tries to remember his past to his first love, but the memory has faded. It was over 10 years ago.

Suddenly his eyes were fixed on someone who was crossing the pokeworks in front of them.

“John” says Sara almost screams. The one who made him unable to sleep last night.

Cindy surprised, “is that John?” saith.

Sara went out of the restaurant and called out to him. John stopped hearing Sara's screams. John turned his body and looked at Sara with a smile.

“Hi miss History” her tease that makes Sara's heart beat.

“Where are you going John” asked Sara later

“I'm looking for a place to eat”

“Continues. Will you join us for dinner?” take Sara to him.

John looked inside the restaurant and saw Cindy sitting at the table staring at him. Then he asked “What doesn't interfere with your meal?”

“Oh no, we are just talking about college lessons aj” said Sara looking for an excuse

“History lesson yes?” he said back

“Iya. If you don't mind, let's join us while talking history” said Sara back

“Alright if my presence does not disturb you” said as he walked closer to Sara. Then they went in and approached the table.

“Sister Cindy, introduce this John, the person we met the other day at taman” said Sara introduced John to Cindy.

Cindy was stunned, she looked at John with strange eyes, as if seeing something terrifying. Sara was confused to see that. Then he turned to John, if there was anything wrong he thought.

“Sorry, is there something wrong with me?” john asked, looking at his clothes.

“Oh sorry, I'm Cindy. Cindy Johnson” said Cindy as she invited John to sit down.

Cindy looked nervous, for some reason she was suddenly like that. Sara was not feeling well either.
